Customer service was terrible. I came in for some basic tools since I moved into the area. I grabbed a few items and picked up the slip for a 3-ton jack since I couldn't fit it in the tiny carts they have. The woman said they did not have it in stock when I clearly saw one unopened on the floor. So, I finished the checkout with the items I had brought up because there was a line forming behind me, and I was trying to be considerate. Meanwhile, another customer kept bumping his cart into my back. After I purchased the items, my girlfriend and I decided to load them into the trunk and then return to purchase the heavy 3-ton jack. When we picked it up and threw it in the cart, we proceeded to the checkout. It was a young male who had zero customer service skills and was very rude, seeming to have some sort of problem with me. Throughout the checkout process, he responded to every question with attitude. I'm never returning to this Harbor Freight! If the company or any type of leadership at that store is reading this, please train your employees to at least be acceptable people in customer-facing roles. read more

Beware,, Its all about sucking you into the store,, all the promotions, coupons, sales, are all just to get you into the store,, nevermind that fact that the actual item is on sale is hard to find or out of stock , but a very similar item with only one or two digit off the sku # is prominently displayed but not on sale,,Then there is the coupons,, on a single page of coupons, in the fine print there will be several different expiration dates,, and they will give NO GRACE period on an expired coupon, not even an hour or day.. after todays experience at the Howe avenue store,, I will not be going back to that store,,, Ever.. the sales clerk did not even ask if I had a number on file at HF,,, very disappointing shopping experience, to say the least.. read more

But here...we got Harbor Fright walking into the hood and just choppin it up like he already been in the pod. Brave choice Harbor Freight. Well played and 5 40 oz Stars Up for coming into that mix...Bless Them and Thy Tools. So they had my 80v bad mamma jamma ATLAS battery pack that no other store did. This needed to power the ATLAS weed DECAPITATOR that just kills it with the weeds. My gtass and trees now look at the new NON-GAS 'Eater and say 'Sup Bro...let's Run It MF!' The folks working the place are incredibly helpful and nice. They got robbed while I was there and basically rolled with it. Impressive. Like it wasn't no thing. Great selection! (Obviously; above) Now don't let the parking lot scare ya off..the daytime hookers are harmless when kept at a car length distance. The rest is all just a floorshow into to one of the nicest - and thickest skin - HF's out there. It was well worth my 90 min drive to visit. Afterwards, escape is just two turns away from the parking lot to the beauty that is Bus80 East. Back to the Stepfordesq like order of Panera and Starbucks societal norm. I sent my employee to purchase a pump, but he got the wrong one so I sent him back to return it. We never opened it or even touched it just sent it straight back. My employee states when he got there the employee opened the box the "inspect" it only to tell him we don't return pumps. For 1 then why did you open it and inspect it? 2 my receipt says you do return them I just have to pay a restocking fee which I'm fine with. I asked for a manager and he claims his name is Jesus, I asked him about the return he said you need to submit a return through the website we don't return pumps. I explained to him that my receipt says I am able to return it. I just have to pay a restocking fee if the item has been opened then I have to return it via the website. Again, we never opened it. The employee opened it to inspect it. He's now claiming the seals were Torn and it has been opened. Everything is on camera. We never opened it. There are no seals on this box. Then I asked for the managers name and he said Jesus but wouldn't give me a last name. He knew I was going to put in a complaint. he was incredibly rude. It's very unfortunate that Harbor freight has somebody like this managing their store. A professional manager would apologize about the situation and explained that they don't restock them. The only way to return them is via website instead he was incredibly rude and hung up on me, I spend thousands of dollars at Harbor freight as I have a commercial account, but I will not be sending my employees there anymore! I wanted to pop in an updated review because of some products I like here. The staff here tend to be helpful and nice. Just know the one thing they can't do is give you the current coupon if you forgot it at home. They'll give you the upcoming coupons though. There's at least one high quality product (my original review says low to mid-quality products) here. The viking jump start pack with flashlight. It's compact and very handy! It'll hold a charge for a long time and do multiple jump starts before a charge. Super helpful to have if your battery is aging or as a contingency plan if you might be traveling in a more remote area. Works on cars, trucks, small RVs! Check their site for reviews. Two recent cheap products bought here I love - super glue and a rubber wheel chock. Both on coupons will be 3 for $1 and $4.99. Great value. How often have you bought expensive crazy glue and it dries up after just one use? Save some bucks! read more

This store is bigger and Better than most of the other Harbor Freight Tools. They have four cashiers check out lines. They only have to open one today. The store is not very busy. These guys have really stepped up their game! I know a lot of people think HF tools a junk, but this is the 21st century and for thirty years they've been accumulating tool brands and improving the quality of their tools. Wrenches for example. I bought a set of end wrenches recently and the finish on them is every bit as nice as Snap-on. Smooth, polished chrome without a single blemish, I haven't tested them to the breaking point, but so far, they're doing the job. They have grinders for as little as $9.99 and they perform as one might expect. You can get a welder there for under $100. Some stuff isn't the greatest, but all in all, it's mostly pretty good value for the money. They're enabling Americans to innovate and build stuff! When I can save $50 and get the job done, I'm happy! read more

I visited this location last week, I am impressed and happy to find a store that is more customer friendly than HomeDepot. When shopping for hardware or tools, I just want to be in a calm environment where I can feel comfortable to brainstorm and work through problems, not followed by security guards or security cameras chiming and flashing as I walk up to a shelf. You guys, going to Harbor Freight for affordable, quality hardware is a no-brainer. I can't say enough about how they've made life easier. So many reasons. Open late (at least 8pm). Huge selection of quality tools, including automotive stuff. Bright, clean store. Restrooms. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. No attitude or job hater. Coupons out the Ying Yang (in mailers, in store, and email if you sign up). INCREDIBLE return policy. Never have I seen one this generous! You can return something within 90 days as long as you have the receipt, and it doesn't have to be in its original packaging!!! I'm going to repeat this Yelp adoration with all HF's I've been to. Only thing I don't like is that there's no stores in San Francisco or the Peninsula! But there's lack of a lot of practical stores on Peninsula which is another story. If you're in Sacramento, East Bay, or San Jose though, you're good to go! There's one in San Rafael too. read more

Lots of cool stuff, and you don't have to spend a fortune. But it looked like the shelves needed to be stocked, there was a lot of empty spaces. I mean, you could have easily walked out with anything from this store with the lack of customer service. First I have called in to ask if they have a portable jump start kit but the male that answered the phone kept saying, I can't hear you. Anyway, I'm so glad I found this store, Harbor Freight Tools: I have been going there literally every weekend to get something or the other for my home. Their prices are so reasonable, and the staff is nice and helpful. The manager, Huff, whom I only chanced to meet last week, is very cooperative and accommodating. And the icing on the cake is they have a free gift with a purchase every weekend. Just sign up for their coupons. Better still, if you become one of their "Insiders" ($30 for a whole year and $45 for two years)--which I did-- you get special offers and bigger discounts. I strongly recommend this store.
