It was the friendly customer service experience over the phone that brought me in to this store, but when I arrive I delt with someone who is not well versed in how to greet and address paying clients. Not only that but simple questions about the product he couldn't answer. Giving one star for your lack of customer service skills. Go home. You messing up the customer experience for new comers. Only reason I made a purchase was because of the friendly service I received over the phone for my bluelab inquiry. Note before you start talking out the side of your neck wait before the customer leaves your establishment before you start talking like an ass. Terrible customer service every time I've been here. Workers are either annoyed, don't want to work, or don't want to be there. One of the three. They actually go out of there way just to not help people LOL. I suggest ordering supplies online or from one of the many other stores in Sacramento. Everyone here thinks they're better than their customers even though they're working at a retail store. I guess I would be unhappy too doing that for a living. ‍ Only way they could still be in business is if they're growing in the back, I suggest someone checks them out. I drive past a lot of hydro stores in between Lodi and Sac to get to Greenfire. I love the service and selection that they have. And if I have a question there is never a shortage of info from the staff. Very hard to find a good hydro shop these days. I will continue going to Greenfire. If you're misinformed about 2001, get a permit, get a script, get a life. read more

I've gone to several hydro stores in and around Sacramento. Because I'm new to hydroponics, and gardening in general, I like to ask a lot of questions and really browse everything so I can get a better understanding of how it all works. With out fail, I can predict the responses I get. Overall, it comes down to either disinterest, attitude, or feeling like I'm stupid. This is just about everywhere except Greenfire. It doesn't matter who is at the counter, as soon as I walk in, they greet me and make me feel welcome. Everyone is extremely helpful, and best of all there isn't any 'I'm better than you' type attitudes! I love going to Greenfire because I get so much from my visits. I actually feel more informed, and educated when I leave. The Greenfire staff take the time to talk with me and discuss how things work, or why this piece is better than that one. That type of customer service is rare and hugely appreciated. I've also found that Greenfire's prices are very reasonanle, and I'd say, most likely, the best in town. They have a customer loyalty card that gives increasingly higher discounts with each purchase, and once you reach the top tier, you're entered into a (I think) weekly drawing for prizes. Let's just say Greenfire is very liberal with the discounts, and even do what they can to make some higher cost items more reasonable. Bottom line...I can't recommend Greenfire enough. If you're into hydroponics, have questions, are just ciurious, or are completely knowledgable, Greenfire is where you want to get your hydro supplies. They have it all! I would recommend reading Dan W's review before shopping here. I stopped in back in April to get some fertilizer and what they sold me killed all 9 of the clones I bought this year. The house smells like some kind of sick chemicals. My wife and I have no smoke for the winter. Make your choice. read more

The staff is amazing! All of my gardening problems are solved! The staff is patient and extremely knowledgeable. I was having issues with fertilizer. The people really know their stuff! With a few questions and a lot of listening, they made me aware of what I was doing wrong, and right. I not only learned a lot, but I now am also able to cut my fertilizer costs significantly. My Bonsai's and everything in the garden has benefitted! I will shop nowhere else. Do yourself a favor... If you are having issues, go speak to the true professionals. read more

Every time I go in there the staff is friendly and helpful. They carry many products for gardening with or without soil. Their best product by far though is their compost tea that they make on site.I fed my garden in the morning and thought I could tell the difference the next morning in the way all the plants looked healthier. They also have a loyalty card that gets you a bigger discount every time you use it up to 20%. It is out of my way but totaly worth the drive. I actually have a store 2 or 3 blocks from my house but the customer service sucks read more

This store has an excellent selection of everything and anything in the way of organic products for your garden. The staff is always very helpful and friendly and always assists with loading large bags of fertilizer and soil into your vehicle. They carry all of my favorite brands for my organic vegetable garden, including Fox Farms. The selection they carry is extensive and it's a great place for buying specialty organic soils, fertilizers, foods, maneur, and compost in bulk. Having visited most of the hydroponic stores in the sacramento area, Greenfire has the most knowledgable staff, and the largest stock of hydroponic supplies. They have helped me deal with all my problems very effectively and economically. They are very well versed in organics, along with having the best prices on organics that I've ever seen. Including having raw organics at incredible prices. The one thing that I would like to see is a wider variety of nutrient lines. What we really need in Sacramento is a source for LED lighting. read more
