We are so fortunate to have a local, non-"box" commercial hardware store near us…read more.. It is the last of its kind in Land Park and we try to support it anyway we can! The staff are personable and helpful and it carry's many smaller items (like unique screws, nuts and fasteners) in small or singular quantities so you don't have to buy a "lifetime supply" for one project like you would have to at a Lowes or Home Depot!

It's my hardware store. I've found the Goldilocks of hardware stores. JUST RIGHT. Pocket Ace- just,…read moreno. Emigh- across town, ghetto 'hood but not ghetto prices. East Sacramento- that closed, now it's a plant store. Who needs a hammer when you can have a succulent? Elk Grove: $$$, plus being asked if I need help multiple times is scary (five times in five minutes, rule of thumb). Newbert's: yes, this was the best but it's been closed for decades and is probably a cannabis dispensary now. Archie's: also closed. Don't get me started. Why: Selection: This store has pretty damn much anything you could need, with limits. Kitchen, hardware, tools, electrical, garden, paint, nuts, bolts, chemicals. It's not a warehouse, it's a STORE. So calm down if you don't have every option, you're going to get in the ballpark. This fall I found a great manure fork here (no I don't live in Iowa but it's a great garden tool and mine got "lost" in my last move). PS, the big orange didn't even have one. Price: I was pricing Weber bbqs this summer and the units here were 10% less than pocket ace or Elk Grove. That got my attention. I recently got a great shovel for $16.99 on sale. Yes, a sale. You will have a range of options and usually there is a cheap(Er) option than at other stores, and better made. Recently I was pricing shovels at Home Depot and their cheaply made unforged (but costly) shovels couldn't match the shovel I bought at Hollywood. Help: someone can help you if you ask but you can browse without feeling like you are being stalked. Oddities: my last time here while at check out a customer came in cradling a duck and said out loud "I have a duck that needs repair." No one was fazed. The duck, alas, was a decoy but quite convincing. Need I say more?

Great place to go for any basic hardware needs…read more The staff is extremely friendly and all the product is reasonably priced. I'd recommend any locals in the pocket or land park area to give this place a try. It's super convenient

Adj: Knowledgeable…read more This is a locally operated Ace Hardware store, I believe it is a franchise. The owners are helpful if you have questions about a home improvement or repair issues and don't know how to go about trying a solution to the problem, or how to use a tool, or even what something you're looking for is because you've never heard of it, let alone seen one, LOL. I haven't come in for those yet, but sometimes I'd find an answer on Google, but the real-life application and execution of that fix to the problem doesn't work out very well, and I'm stuck. This is where Greenhaven Hardware as a smaller, mom-and-pop outfit would come in. At a big box store it might be hard to flag down someone to ask a question at all. But here at Greenhaven Hardware, there's always someone asking if you need help. We came in once to get some plants and had some questions and they gave us some good advice and our plants are thriving now. They also seasonally have vegetable seedlings for sale if your thumb isn't the greenest (that would be me!) and don't want to attempt to grow from seeds yourself. Sometimes they would also clearance out seasonal items because their store has limited space compared to a big-box, so you can also find some bargains if your timing just happens to find you catching some good deals. I don't count on that at Ace, but it's nice to support local even if their prices are slightly higher (sometimes quite a bit higher) because we can get excellent customer service w/sage advice for tricky home repair situations. Overall, I'm thankful we have a locally owned and operated hardware store still in our neighborhood and it's a great thing to have when experience and knowledge is what you're looking for to tackle more complex home maintenance or repair scenarios. Thank you Greenhaven Hardware!

They sometimes have varieties that aren't in the big box stores. Today was no exception. I selected some rare succulents and proceeded to the outdoor checkstand to pay. That is where things went downhill. This usually open checkstand had a note stating it was closed and to pay inside. So back inside I went. After a short wait I approached the check stand and after the young man rang my purchases he handed me the receipt. I said well I need to pay you. And as I unzipped my RFID-shielded wallet to obtain my debit card the young male cashier said, "oh it already took your payment" (and he pointed to the "tap here" feature on the credit/debit card machine on the counter). I was flabbergasted! So after looking at the receipt I saw that the machine had charged a credit card that was located several cards deep inside my wallet in my crossbody bag that I was wearing at the time. I asked him to refund that and place the items on a debit card instead. Wow. After a brief discussion, both he and his "Lead" admitted that machine is super sensitive so my recommendations are to the consumer be careful when shopping here, and to ACE replace the machine or post a warning to customers. Lastly, the attitude of the Lead was a bit condescending - loud, and restating the obvious. And the cashier was aloof - detached and not listening.

The staff are always welcoming, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful whenever you need assistance finding something. They carry a wide selection of hardware, paint supplies, and general home improvement products. One of my favorite parts of this location is their great variety of barbecues and BBQ spices -- such a fun bonus you don't always expect from a hardware store. While the plant section is on the smaller side, they still offer a very nice selection of healthy plants and gardening items. Highly recommend this East Sacramento Ace Hardware for both everyday needs and home projects!

Since it was my first time visiting, I really appreciated that level of attentiveness. Every aisle I went down, someone checked in and helped me find exactly what I was looking for--and I ended up finding everything I came in for and more. This was such a refreshing experience compared to big-box stores like Home Depot or Lowe's, where I've waited up to 30 minutes just trying to find an associate for assistance. The customer service here is top-tier, and I also love the email and mailed coupons, which help keep costs down. With the coupons, my purchases often end up being less expensive than Lowe's or Home Depot. Excellent service, helpful staff, and great savings--I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

What an experience. Before arriving at our appointment we took pictures of our kitchen and added…read moremeasurements, we got most measurements. We missed measuring our window. We made an appointment last night for today at 9:30am. We weren't on today's schedule as we booked so late today so we didn't get stared with Ben till 10am. Between 9:30am-10am we reviewed what we were looking for. We chose the color of the cabinets, style of the cabinets, granite color and beveling. We were all ready from him when he arrived. There is so much to look at, but we wished the granite samples were larger so we have a better idea of what it will look like. It's not easy to imagine what it will look like on our counter with such a small sample. We choose a light white one with a little sparkle. For 3 hours we went over our specs and pricing. He rendered our kitchen into his computer system and was able to generate a price of the cabinent and installation. The price did not include the demo. That is a separate quote. We paid $75 for them to come in confirm our measurements and then that will give us the quote of the demo, verse the best guess of between $1,200 to $1,500. There are so many colors to choose from. You can get them painted or stained. We are leaning towards painting, but if we go with staining it's less expensive. We are also leaning towards a light blueish grew color with a picture frame door look. One thing I learned for our experiences is the doors aren't actual wood. They are a different product, meaning if the new owners move in and don't like the color they can't just sand it and paint it. They would have to go through the reface process. That would entail them getting all new doors and they would paint the boxes to match. Though Lowe's we got a quote for refacing last week. It will cost approximately $10,900 to reface. They said it would be more expensive to repaint our cupboard verses getting all new doors and just have the boxes repatriated. That really doesn't make sense. You'd think if all you are paying for is paint it would be cheaper. To get new cabinets it will be around $27,000 for new cabinets including installing, but that doesn't include demo and removal of the current kitchen. As I said above the demo will cost between $1,200 to $1,500 or that's his best guess. After we get them to come in and do the measurements we'll get the exact amount. And these prices don't include the countertops. While we were there we also got a quote on a countertop. We looked at quartz and granite. The granite is a lot darker in color and not something we are looking for. After some research we decided to go with quartz. It's man made unlike granite which is natural. They match up for the most part being stain resistant, scratch, resistant, and Heat resistant. What we learned that you have to continually to seal the gravities as it's a a natural stone and the initial sealing will wear off over time and that will effect it's ability to be stain resistant. The price range of the quartz countertops vary from $56 to $141 per square foot. I swears depending on the sale the standard price changes. There are so many edge styles to look at when you are considering countertops. They have a wheel of them that I took a picture of. We are torn between Eased which is big in the west coasted and bullnose which is a classic look. Though people complaint that if you have a spill it will travel over the edge and travel to the underside. So are we are going with bullnose. The counter we looked at comes to about $8,000 and that doesn't include the sink. Overall we had a good experience. We were surprised that we were there for 3 hours. The time went by quickly as there was so much to discuss to get an accurate quote. There are so many color and styles of cabinets. They have 3 main brands. We choose the brand by the color we chose. I'm not sure that was the right way to chose, but that's what we did. We chose the style of cabinets by the one that went with the Diamond Express + express options. The original one style we choose was in a higher price bracket, so we choose a similar one and the same price backed of the color we choose. Both were really similar and we really can't tell the difference.

Even if they don't know something they are happy to find a colleague that does, unlike Hone Depot where "I don't know" seems to be an acceptable answer to customers. The staff at the paint station are remarkable. My only complaints would be pricing for some items are rather high, seemingly over priced and they do t carry replacement parts for things like ceiling fans, causing you to have to purchase a whole new one instead. As a person that tries to be conscientious about landfill waste etc. this is disappointing. Over all great place for your home improvement projects with plenty of parking.
