This is the closest Harbor Freight to my house. A couple of my neighbors tell me that it's not a very good store. I disagree. I have found everything I was looking for here in the store. Every time I came here. All three times and and I've not lived in SacTown very long. The customer service here is great. The staff is always friendly and welcomes me in. They answer questions, they provide service. They explain the return policy when there is something other than a normal return. I was looking for a particular item and could not find it. The man took me to where the item was supposed to be. He said that they were out but he would get more from the back. Two minutes later he returned with my item and replenished the empty spot. The store is always neat and clean and the shelves are always neat and well stocked (see above). I go to Harbor Freight to get items at discount prices. I need a couple of blue tarps to protect my lawn when I hug up an area. The tarp was going in to the trash afterward. Why spend $30 at Lowe's when I can spend $7.99 at HF?? Bought the miter saw and power washer... didn't break the bank and a few this and that I.e magnetic fire starter, double A batts, solar led motion light and gloves. Everyone from staffs to customers wore mask and social distanced. The price on tools pretty good. Never had anything broke down- thus far. Go here for your diy needs. I recently visited this location and received what I can only describe as the WORST customer service ever! An employee named Shawn was rude and treated me like I was stupid. I had a question about a welder and his response was "If you don't know about the welder, or welding you probably shouldn't buy it." He could have showed me the selection, or talked to me about the basics of welding but instead he took this opportunity to make me feel like a complete idiot. Not cool! For certain types of hardware type items, Harbor Freight is usually the first place I check. They have a wide range of things for very reasonable prices. As you might imagine, the "reasonable prices" sometimes involves a bit of a compromise in quality... but 95% of the time the tools here are plenty good to get the job done. In recent years, I've noticed that HF have been adding higher end brands of items, so make sure you check their catalogs and/or ask about the good/better/best lines of tools and buy accordingly. I like the variety they have in a fairly compact store (compared to a big box like Lowe's or Home Depot). This trip, I needed a few odds and ends for my boat trailer... and everything I needed was there and easy to find. I've found that the employees at HF are quite knowledgeable - more than once, I've asked questions about items throughout the store and I've gotten very helpful answers. read more

I really like harbor freight tools. They have a reputation for being cheap (as in no good) but let's face it, not everyone can afford top end tools. If you aren't a professional, you don't need top end tools. As far as HF goes, their hand tools do the job for homeowner needs, and save you $$$. I have in addition to many hand tools, purchased a grinder, (which has lasted thirty years now) and several pneumatic tools and accessories which have never failed to do the jobs for which I bought them. I love wandering the store just to look for new gadgets as well. Magnetic picks, propane adapters and accessories, bungees, tarps, log splitting wedges, work gloves, shop lights, the list goes on. Convenient locations, low prices, and quality good enough for the average Joe homeowner. read more

I hate this harbor freight. Same products as anywhere else but it comes down to the workers you interact with. I go there hoping I wont have to ask the cashiers up front questions. Had a simple question over the phone about my pressure washer. Call lasted 41 seconds, lady who answered started off pretty rude. All I can think about is she's rushing, backed up, busy, or otherwise just having a bad day at 8:45am. The current pandemic must be getting to her. I still had another simple question for her but she hung up on me, without so much as a bye. Generally I enjoy the discounts, coupons, getting what I need and leaving without issue, hence the 3/5 stars. I dread having to ask the cashiers questions or for help. The service doesn't have to be great, just decent, or efficient. I dont even need a big huge smile or overdone language tones. This store no doubt has the worse service out of them all in our area. I went into Harbor Freight Tools to purchase a cordless buffer, I could not find item so I asked an associate of Harbor freight for assistance, the associate responded by telling me to look up the item to see if it were in stock, "not assisting me" On my own I located the item, I changed my mind about the purchase. First to review! Never heard about this spot until my husband was lusting after a multifunction something-or-other. You plug it in and it does cool stuff on all types of material. Yeah, whatever. So I found a coupon online to get 20% off one item and off we went. Located in a depressing strip mall, it is next to the Twice as Nice Furniture shop and SaveMart grocery store. The prices here are very reasonable. I don't know about the quality, we'll see how long this tool lasts. But you can find everything from your standard wrench sets to car jacks to LED flashlights to gaudy garden gnomes. It's not huge like a home depot, but much smaller -- like Trader Joe's. Sign up for their mailing/email list and get sent their special coupons. I was very tempted to pick up a 10-pack of stainless steel solar lights for the yard. It was only $20, but I didn't know how bright they were. I did buy a small wire cutter for $2 to do my jewelry. No, you can't buy bathroom fixtures, tiles or pipes here, but there is a little something here for the DIY in everyone. read more

My husband and I stopped by this location today to grab a couple of items and while we were waiting to check out we witnessed a woman, who I assume was a manager, totally belittle, fluster and embarrass a co-worker, a nice young man who appeared to be a relatively new employee. He was helping the first customer in line. The woman was working with the second customer on what appeared to be a refund of some sort, but he was also purchasing something else. The woman didn't tell the employee what she was doing. He was busy with the other customer. Then when his other customer left, she had him finish her customers transaction, but he didn't know what she had already done and where she had left off. He tried to ask her what he was supposed to do and she just yelled at him, rolled her eyes and stormed off leaving him standing there with the customer, not knowing what to do. She made it very clear she was annoyed with him and was done helping. Another employee grabbed us to ring on the other register, and when we left the young employee was still standing there trying to figure out what to do. I overheard the other employee asking, "Is she coming back?" The customer being helped was being very patient, but both my husband and I were appalled at how she handled the situation. I am hoping that young man quit today, because noone deserves to be treated like that in their workplace. I'm sure he can find a job where he is treated better. read more

If there's one thing I know management reads Yelp reviews. They are a source of constant anxiety but I also know if you don't say something they don't know what's happening and you don't have to be mean about it or give up on an operation. I was just in the Auburn store at about 9 a.m. I needed the usual things such as sawzall blades a pair of gloves Tape and a few other things to finish a bathroom job. my car is down right now so I jumped on my mountain bike and road about two miles to the store the weather is not that good but that doesn't matter. I noticed your carts were inside and there was nowhere to lock up a bicycle so I walked it into the store which smells and looks like a greasy garage and put my kickstand down. The gentleman manning the register told me "I'm sorry sir I just can't have the bike inside." and of course I let him know there's no way to lock it up and he was very polite and said "Sorry there's nothing I can do about it." I let him know that I was just about to buy a whole bunch of stuff and that it has nothing to do with him I would take it and bark up a different tree, so here I am. I'm at jack-in-the-box having breakfast and I've decided until the situation is remedied with a bike rack right in front of your windows or you change your policy I will not be coming back anytime soon considering it's already a sketchy neighborhood as it is. On a side note, and anyone who's been to one of your stores knows this... It's already or turn off just to shop there because everybody knows that your people are taught to just push that warranty on everything and it's a point of backyard conversation how much of an intrusive pain in the butt it is and it takes everyone's last ounce of resolve to not just start cussing out the person on the other side because you just want them to stop asking you for your phone number and whether or not you want a warranty. Asking if you're signed up for the mail circular and coupons is one thing but you guys really need to leave it at that. but like I said until you do something about having a decent bike rack set up I'm not going to be coming back to your store as it is I'm already finding any possible way I can to not have to use your place. As an artist I sometimes have to make some very precise pen or brush strokes. In order to save my poor eyes some strain I was in serious need of hands-free magnification. Enter Harbor Freight Tools. They had these little jewelers' loupes that clip on to your glasses (I have some nonprescription that will do nicely) as well as a heavy based, hands free magnifier. Both items were $2 or $3 each. I also scored a lovely stainless steel ruler for about $2. Whilst looking around I noticed they also have watchmakers' hammers, compasses, reflective gear, screwdrivers, and some strange little gizmos that I'm sure plumbers and handymen could identify. I also noticed the place was packed with men who were wandering around the aisles looking like kids in a toy store. All in all I am pretty happy with my finds. It is such a relief now that I don't have to stick my nose on my paper just to make sure my corners connect without an ink blob. read more

After a few home remodels, I've accumulated a pretty good inventory of everyday tools. Nice ones, good quality. There are times when I just need to pick up some random tool that does not need to be of the highest quality. Usually for a single job and OK to lend out and never get back. Harbor Freight is great for that kind of thing. I'd not stock my entire tool arsenal with tool from here but I do have a collection of random, not so often used tools that did their job and at a very reasonable price. A few of the reviews here mention the long lines. Yep, that's what happens when there's a lot of people in a store. In today's shopping spree, all registers were open and staffed and there were at least 5 deep each line. What I did notice and find much more important is that each clerk was working diligently to serve each customer quickly and accurately (maybe a little robotic, but I get it). Not much more can be done. I'd say it's more about the customers that aren't prepared to check out that slow things down. "Hey, Customer .. get everything you need BEFORE you get to the check out clerk, eh? And be prepared to pay .. don't act surprised when it's time to whip out cash/check/card." Sorry, no pics. I have been to this Harbor Frieght location several times and can always be guaranteed two things: long lines and unhelpful staff. They have some great prices at times, however they do not always have what you are looking for. The store itself is pretty clean, considering how small it is. Bought a paint spray gun. Came home, mixed paint and the paint won't go thru.... I reduce paint, make it thinner, take it thru thin filter, put back in the canister. Didn't work again. Add more water. To the water based paint and again didn't work Bring gun back to store, and they charge me 20% restocking fee, like it's my fault that their spray gun didn't spray good quality paint from Sherwin Williams...... read more

Not really happy right now. This isn't the first time I've been to a Harbor Frieght and was disappointed in the service. The stuff you get there is ok, what do you expect for discounted Chinese-made tools? The people working there are not the brightest bulbs in the pack. I went in to grab a pack of cable ties and waited in line for a few minutes only to be told the line was closed. No sign or anything. I moved to the only other open line and waited while the guy in front of me sorted out his purchases and got his half dozen coupons and iPhone apps ready to show the cashier for discounts. Some dimbulb employee opens another checkout line and instead of getting the NEXT person in the line She decides to get the LAST person in the line to check out FIRST. So, ALL the people that were waiting got the shaft, including me. What a MORON! These stores seem to be permanently either understaffed at the registers, OR they think it's not very important to get customers checked out. read more

I call Harbor Freight to ask about the SD card and they said they didn't sell the card..but yet, it show on the internet that you can buy it there. used the search on their web site and showed..No Item found. "Bad service ever" not satisfied, can't accepted, wouldn't recommend it. Came here to return the items and the lady here (supervisor I believe )told me to wait for like half an hour for my refund money cuz they don't have enough cash for me and I did, wouldn't mind to do it , about half an hour later, seems they got enough cash. I did wave that lady again.it takes long enough already but another guy (could be a manager)walked around with this lady told me to go back to the line again( the line is very long here)I'm like whatttt!!!! You should just open the cash register and give me my money (Because I'm Asian or what! ) I've been here waiting for like half an hour already but you still want me going back to the line and wait for this again, I have to do things, I don't have all day for you, from my experience, (as of some business manager)to make customers happy, you should not tell customers to do the double wait like that.
