I purchased a Predator 3500 inverter generator . Can't be built any cheaper than it is. No replacement parts are available nor would any generator mechanic touch this junk. Tried to order a small part ( fuel cap to replace the cheap one that cracked. Was told my order would be shipped FedEx. few days later and no update or a sign of the shipment . Called the company and was told that the part will not be shipped for another week or so. You buy Chines - expect this piss poor service and quality read more

How did I NOT know about this place?? Decent quality, really cheap tools all made in China. I'm Chinese! How did I not know about this place??? Why would anyone buy tools at Home Depot or Lowes again. All their stuff is made in China too but you pay for that "brand" name. A hammer is a hammer is a hammer. Why paid twice as much. (btw- there were more employees working in this store than you'll find at any big Box retailer). So I just discovered Harbor Freight Tools from my contractor. It's their tools "Disneyland". And it's not just the good price of normal tools. They carry tools for that one-of-a-pain-in-the-butt task that this unique one-of-a-kind tool will save you hours on. You'll enjoy this place even if you're not Asian. Enjoy. read more

Review only for staff and customer service! Trust me I don't expect exceptional service from store that sell inexpensive tools. I have been shopping at HFT for more than 10+ years and I have not had a single issue with the store, staff or customer service. This store worker are just plain useless and they don't care much about anything because they still get a check at end of the day! Go to another HFT store so these workers can just do nothing and get paid! read more

I has to downgrade my review to 1 star from 3 stars after we actually USED the products we purchased here. We bought their masking tape. It is garbage. So thin, you can't write on with a ballpoint pen like you can with basic masking tape. Also, the adhesive is too cheap. It doesn't stick completely. ***Don't waste your money here. Purchase elsewhere.*** Good basic tools. Nothing amazing or extensive. Which leaves me wondering how they can be a chain and stay in business with all the competition which IS more extensive. No one helped us. When we did ask for help, we got a general direction, not an escort. Which resulted in our getting to enjoy the privilege of then standing in line twice, once to get assistance of any kind, second to pay. Masking tape, yes. ***(Note my update: turned out to be garbage on any basic quality.) Step ladder, no. I grew up accompanying my dad to the local hardware store. This place has such a basic selection, just not extensive. Maybe ACE or TRUE instead? WHY would I ever return here? read more

Went with my boyfriend so he could purchase some tools. I was surprised to see that the staff was randomly walking around helping people. One of the staff members was singing and was very lively, which created a joyous atmosphere. The manager seems to be very hands-on and very helpful. He gives off a vibe as though he is part of the staff and not just some manager telling people what to do. Prices are very affordable. I don't know a lot about tools but from what I gathered, this is a great place to buys tools that you are only going to use every once in awhile because you will save a lot of money. Overall great atmosphere. Definitely a pleasure to shop here. read more

When you buy anything from Harbor Freight you know what you are getting into. Generally their tools are not as accurate, or durable. But if you are in a precision working environment you would know better than to buy this stuff. That being said they are still the best place to buy grinding wheels, tarps, some hammers, safety glasses, jack stands, engine stands, disposable pliers, screwdrivers and that sort of thing. Things to stay away from if you are more serious than an occasional garage mechanic in my experience so far: Harbor Freight : Welders Harbor Freight : Sheet metal tools Harbor Freight : Drill Press Harbor Freight : Bench Vice Harbor Freight : Chop Saw The Orange location to me has GREAT customer service. I bought a $200.00 item that went on sale a couple weeks later for 1/2 the price and they refunded my money without any hassle. To me that speaks volumes in times like these. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Staff is extremely rude. One lady said "were closing" & shut the door in my face as I walked up right at 8:00 and I said "no problem can you just tell me if you guys have those TV wall mounts that are on sale for $9.99 (so I knew whether or not to make the drive back tomorrow) she refused to answer my question. I've spent $1,000 + easily at this location as it's where I purchased most of my equipment for my small business and UNFORTUNATELY this location is the closest. However I'm DONE! I'll gladly drive to the farther location as to avoid the nightmare I go through everytime in this store. Awful cashiers and awful customer service. Most of their merchandise in boxes is all smashed up like it's been dropped, returned or torn apart by customers looking inside. read more

This harbor freight hacksaw is best suited to line the bottom of this trash can. Broke cutting a length of COPPER tube held firmly in a pipe vise. How pathetic......this item gets one star only because this system will not accept NO stars..... read more

Such great prices! My favorite new tools store! and great stuff! Bought a set of gardening tools for 5$. Some nice hedge clippers for 8$. I will definitely return. They have crazy deals all the time. They even had free coupons for free stuff the other day! read more

I'm a huge fan of Harbor Freight. The staff are a little sparse but friendly. Just go online and check the reviews for whatever item you're interested in. There are plenty of gems. And anything that isn't a gem is priced accordingly anyways. read more

We've been to this store several times and yes, the staff may not be warm and fuzzy but we usually get what we need. Last time we visited, the clerk was nice enough to let us ring all our items together and use two electronic coupons (they know we would get the discount one way or another so might as well make it easier, right) and even tried to get us the membership for additional saving. Free flashlight with yelp check in and they usually give you coupons for other free items for future visits. Prices are lower than Home Depot too! read more

This hardware store is just like a Lowes or Home Depot but without the name brands. All of the sections of the store are clearly labeled. We were able find what we needed and get out quick. It also looks like everything is on sale. Harbor Freight is a good store to go to if you are looking for inexpensive tools, hardware items, out other miscellaneous things. read more

This is like a beauty store for guys. All the tools -- drill bits, wrenches, sockets you ever wanted that Sears or Home Depot doesn't sell. Today, I needed left handed drill bits to tap out a stripped screw. It was on sale. They're always having parking lot sales with cool stuff like winches, zip ties, flashlights, wheel chocks as super cheap prices. Friendly service. The lines move quick. Very helpful and clean bathrooms. read more

Came here looking to get my husband some tools as a Valentine's Day gift. It's always a little intimidating walking into a tool store but a gentleman in the front I believe by the name of Darin, made my experience an easy one! He was genuinely nice and helped me find what I was looking for. He also assisted me with carrying the items to my car. So happy I chose this location! read more

Bought a floor jack this past Friday and took it home and it was used so I took it back and they replaced it took the new one how jacked the car up walked away to get the jack stands and the jack fell to the ground and it wouldn't put the car back up the hydraulics went out and took it back and they didn't have the 1.5 ton jack so I asked if they can just up grade me and the manager said ya let's just do that and they still wanted me to pay the $50 difference after two jacks I bought from there were no good I don't think that is right what so ever read more

Lots of tools for just about any job, great prices if you don't need name brand, hours are good and the staff is friendly,I like shopping here

Went here today and discovered the "tool addicts drop in center", there's guys in here buying up stuff just because its cheap...ahh so American! I'm in specialized trade and my tools are quite unusual BUT they still have stuff which blew me away price wise (digital caliper $10, elsewhere $60+). I wouldn't expect much more than single usage out of their power tools but combine that with truly jaw dropping pricing and you understand why guys shop here. Service is good, certainly comparable to Lowes, plenty of help offered when I browsed the aisles. BTW bring coupons, they honor them everytime! read more

Always my goto for cheap tools . I don't need quality, but you do get more for what you've paid for....

I just left the store after a very rude aggressive impropriety experience with the manager who called George. I am going to cancel my membership and never buy from them again read more

Very great staff. I went to the harbor fright store in anaheim on state college a few days ago and one of the cashiers told me that she cant exchange these since I dont have the receipt. But our boss didn't give us the receipt so the cashier there didn't wanna exchange them for me but come on its supposed to be backed by the warranty they offer if you have the phone number. So she refused to do the exchange for me so I left. Then I came into this one and was helped before they were even open and they did perform the exchange for me. So I left very happy since I also use these wrenches for work. Thanks to her I know I'll be back for more of my shopping to be done since that's a good staff. read more

Fantastic service. An employee worked very hard to help me try to find a specialty screwdriver for a security screw on an old Gameboy cartridge (unfortunately, they didn't have one that fit). That's the kind of service you never get from big chains like Home Depot. Also, they aren't kidding about the "ridiculously low prices"! read more

Worst experience I've had at Harbor freight. The only reason I gave them the extra star is because I did get my return processed despite their illegal policy. They require you to show an ID to process a return even if you have your receipt. Not only that but they also require you give up you personal phone number and address! This was a problem for me because I only had my temporary paper ID from the DMV. So the cashier flat out refused to take my return even though I just purchased the item (AT HER REGISTER) 15 minutes prior. I went straight to her supervisor and pointed out that the receipt is a written contract that states only proof of purchase is required for return/warranty. He did the return with out ID but not without requiring my phone number and address. Highly invasive and unprofessional requirements from a retailer if you ask me. I get better treatment with Walmart's returns! Side note, the $130 inverter that I purchased was open previously and had dried soda spills all over the electrical vents. No others in stock. The supervisor tried to sell me on their new house brand but it was $30 more expensive than a new energizer brand inverter from Amazon prime. They even charged me $30 for a kill-a-watt P3 meter when Amazon prime has it for $18 new. I think harbor freight is not what it used to be. Update, after my experience I found out that the other small inverter I bought was not true sine power. Actually dirty power which can not be used for desktop computers or smart TVs, as stated only in the user manual... So, I was dreading going back in for more returns but the cashier on the next shift was undeniably courteous. She handled the whole return no problems. The manager Aaron, even found my old receipt that he accidentally kept and it only took a few minutes. These two played a big part in improving my experience over this afternoon so I want to add 1.5 stars to my previous 2.5 rating. read more

Would give it 0 stars if possible, DO NOT GO HERE!! Worst harbor freight by far, extremely rude workers and manager is the WORST

Service was great. Sans that one chick scanning stuff too busy to really help and annoyed that I asked a question. The rockabilly guy was helpful and friendly.. BUT... They didn't have a dremel press that I was looking for nor dremel tools. So, I have ventured out of using the hand held drill in some of the trinkets I make and have now looked into more complicated tools. Complicated because I do not know much about drills. Anyhoo, This place all though looked as though it would have all that I needed did not and it was a trip that could of saved time had I of phoned in and asked prior to assuming they would have dremel tools and accessories. I went off the tool man at the trade show that Harbor Freight would have it.. Oh well... The bf was over this place fast. A little annoyed that they didn't have what we needed.. read more

Stores like Harbor Freight Tools are one of the biggest reasons you can have so many illegal or questionably-legal immigrants in southern California affording to whore themselves out as non-licensed contractors and further undercut real tradesmen and cause such havoc in the construction/building industry in this state... now... that being said... I LOVE THIS PLACE.... actually, I love any building supply store... I'm like a kid in a candy store whenever I walk through those doors... yeah... every so often I hear these incredible stories... like an electrician I know who claims a cordless drill purchased here lasted him three years... or a couple mechanics that have no problem being under cars that are on jack stands purchased here... but I have to agree, for the price you pay, the tools and equipment here do pretty well, at the very least, pretty well... whenever i have carpentry work, I buy anything and everything I can here... like my nail guns and especially hand tools to use around the house, socket sets, hammers, allen keys, magnets for my kids to craft with... i even buy my gloves and knee pads for paintball here... kites.... wooden model kits... i mean, these guys really do have everything.... and the store on Harbor in Santa Ana is even bigger... I literally spend money for no reason here, buying things i don't see at other stores, not because I need it, but because I want to have it... customer service is hit and miss, though... yesterday was a good day... I walked in and said... "Caulking..." and the guy behind the counter said... "uh...aisle 4..." and as turned to say thank you, I caught him checking out my wife's behind... I can appreciate that... thanks man for going the extra mile and checking her out... high five... read more

This review is simply of this particular store and staff. Don't expect much. Not too friendly, and severely understaffed on a regular basis. If you need a cheap tool and a cheap price to get a job done this is the place...if mediocre customer service is no issue. read more

I like all the harbor freight stores that I've been to. This one is the closest to my house. Any others that I've been to would have gotten a 5 star review. The only reason for this 1 getting a 4 star review is because it's a little smaller and not as big of a selection but still very good prices and very good customer service. I really wish it was a little bigger like the other ones I have been to cause that would have made this a 5 star review. But still if you need any tools they have the best prices and customer service around read more

This place has amazing prices and great deals. I was shocked because while checking out, the cashier gave me a free set of screw drivers, which made my experience pretty nice. I gave this place a three star because the guy that was helping me out looked like he came straight out of Jersey Shore and was talking to me and other customers with a snotty attitude. If the Jersey Shore homo wasn't there, I'm sure I would've rated this place much higher. read more

My most recent experience with Harbor Freight was super positive including the most friendly and helpful manager/employee. Harbor Frieght Tools is a great option for purchasing tools on the cheap. I personally like to buy their plastic divided storage trays to store my beads in. Some of their merchandise is not of the best quality, but hey, you get what you pay for! read more

First, let me say I like Harbor Freight. Their stuff is a "good value". Are they the best tools available? No, and they don't claim to be. But mostly, they are OK. Meaning if you are not a professional mechanic, you probably won't have many problems. So good value is very appropriate for many of us. I have special tools that I bought 20 years ago and used that time, and never had to pick up again. At that rate a cheaper tool will last forever! So a cheap tool is good for many tasks for many of us. That all said, this particular Harbor Freight has some pretty serious management issues. There are items that are on sale, and they are then a really really good value. Since I am a value shopper I watch for great deals. At this particular store however they often don't have sale items marked. So something is marked $159 when it's on sale for $119. But they didn't mark the item as being on sale. So I don't know that is a great deal and I should look at it. Sure, they are in the printed sale flyer, but since they have several of those at any one time with many discounted items listed I can't shop by cross referencing the sale flyer, the store tags and the item. That takes too long. It's just lazy, and I complained to a guy who I had them call to talk to me whose badge said store manager. He listened to my complaint about sale items not being marked as such but ultimately looked like he didn't much care. There was no one on the floor, it's also pretty odd that I had to call out "does anyone work here?" Finally I went to the cash register and asked the cashier to find someone to help me. I had to interrupt her work to get her to do that, but I don't care. So Harbor Freight, time for some setting of expectations with your staff. I can't cross reference items in the store with 3 or 4 color sale fliers you have going at any time to find what I should consider buying. Takes too long. I depend on you marking the sales price clearly, and that it's a good deal. I won't be shopping this store again if I can avoid it because of this. read more

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! ZERO STARS DO NOT BUY HFT POP CANOPY. I only used it once for a yard sale and 9 months later I pulled it out for another yard sale and whenIput it up it fell apart upon opening it up and I even stored it in the garage for the nine months. The plastic just grumbled, splintered and cracked to pieces everywhere. It's totally unusable. I have to trash it. I called the manufacture and they only guarantee it for 3 month. read more

Got in and got out. Cashier was friendly. What I like about HF is their cheap price. No need Snapon tools as I don't use the tools daily.

Excellent customer service found everything I needed they even let me return a small safe that I had no receipt for, lost it and most likely bought it 90 days or longer ,,,which is against their policy but still very nice as I was buying $200 worth of stuff so I really appreciate it, that kind of courtesy goes a long way in customer loyalty they could have said no I will continue to shop at the store as I always have,, and I will definitely save my receipts from now on read more

Just got cashed out by Tiffany. She is the definition of customer service. While ringing up her customer she noticed the line was starting to build up, the customer she was currently with needed something from the back, she asked that customer if she could quickly ring up the next customer. We need more cashiers/ people like Tiffany in this world she takes the initiative while providing extraordinary customer service. read more

This place is great.... for the price. Bought myself a 1987 Bmw and needed tools to start doing some maintenance work. Using 20-25% off coupons, I went and bought bunch of tools... relatively cheap. At first, I was concerned that the tools may break on me, but couldn't resist to buy due to such a low cost. Well, all is fine, tools work just fine. I don't plan to be a professional mechanic. So, these tools are just fine for weekend projects. Cashier was nice too. No hassle about coupons being no good. BTW, they got bunch of other stuff. Worth the money. read more

I was returning a tool in an unopened box that I thought was in the warranty period. I was a few days over which the cashier seemed to be happy about. She said, "this is yours now". I asked to talk to a manager about possibly getting store credit and she said "no" and turned over my receipt to show me the policy. Then I said I should have bought it at Home Depot and she said "yeah". This is the way to lose customers. read more
