I was so pleasantly surprised by their selection of products, especially since I was looking for random items for my new apartment. The employees were helpful, knowledgeable, and looked like they genuinely loved working there, which was such a joy to see. I've returned to this shop way too often, and my wallet hates me for it. This location relies heavily on paid street parking, though there is a small customer lot behind the shop. A trip to this Ace is very worth the $2 I paid for parking.

I had called earlier, and the woman was very helpful on the telephone. When I arrived, she assisted me with my purchase, as did a man, she and even carried the umbrella all the way to my car and put it in the back seat of my car, which was parked in one of the several handicapped parking spaces located just behind Ace Hardware. Went here to buy supplies to fasten a rack on my bike. Wandered around for 2 mins, lost as a…read morenewborn pup, and Reuben at the front desk asked if I needed any help. Told him what I was trying to do and he took me to two metal clamping options to fasten the rack on the bike and even went out to the front to see how they would worked. He went to confirm the answer with the owner and was immediately talked down to. After hearing this, I approached the owner directly to ask the same question myself and unfortunately received the same condescending attitude. It's also worth noting that there are no prices listed on items, which makes shopping unnecessarily frustrating, and if you need to return anything--unused or opened--good luck. It's disappointing to see workers treated this way, and it explains why there seems to be constant staff turnover. Customer service starts with how employees are respected, and sadly, that's lacking here. Despite the longer commute, I'll be taking my business to the other hardware store on the island moving forward.

Someone will lead you to the product you ask for and if you have a couple other items on your list, the same person will lead you to the other items to make sure that you have everything you need.
