Absolutely absurd that you cannot purchase something online and pick it up in the store. The online price that they give you is cheaper than it is in the store! There were quite a few brands here I didn't recognize. There was a huge variety for a smaller store. The prices were pretty low in comparison to other other are stores. Well just have to see if these brands hold up over time. Enjoyable experience! read more

I shop here ALL the time and EXPECT it to be a horrible experience. I laugh at this point. Too funny to see the biggest concern of anyone working there is when and who is on break next. It's like a necessary evil for me. Prices are decent, quality is all over the board. Which is okay, because I know what I need and whether it will get the job done. It's the service. I could understand the lack of interest in helping me if I walked into their garage and asked a question, but this is where they work. Front facing employees should at least fake it and try to be pleasant or helpful. Bitch about me and the rest of your customers after I leave. That's fine, but don't look at me like I'm asking for your Social Security number when all I want to know is if there is another item in stock or stacked somewhere else. Maybe it's just me. Maybe no one else notices because there're to confused by all the coupons, and sales, and freebies, and if their cashier is going to just up and walk away to go on break?? If you want some real tools that are going to last go to Ace Hardware, Lowe's, or Home Depot. But if you need some cheap tools to do a quick job then Harbor Freight is the place. Their tools aren't that great, they are they type of tools you would get if you did a mail order tool kit or got free tool kit from Marlboro for smoking too many cigarettes. While the tools aren't that great at Harbor Freight that's ok because they are cheap and you can toss them after the job is done. But Harbor Freight does carry some items that are alright like duck tape, electrical tape, and air filters. And this past weekend I dropped by and got a sweet electrified fly swatter shaped like a tennis racket for only $3.99; still need to see it works when the skeeters are out this summer or my wife starts bugging me while I'm watching tv. read more

I am very upset over the way I was ripped off by the cashier in this store! As we were checking out, she asked if we wanted to join the Inside Track club. I asked her how much and she said it was free. "Well, if it's free, why not." She rang up all our merchandise and said, "You saved $19, so the membership is only be $10." Floored, I replied, "$10! What happened to free?! You said it was free and now suddenly its $10?!" She babbled on about all its benefits and savings and I explained to her that it would not be worth it for us because there is not a Harbor Freight anywhere near us. We make the hour long drive on rare occasions, once every couple years, when we need something in particular. She ignored what I said and when she finished rining up our order, exclaimed that she forgot to activate the card and I would have to pay $29.90 for this "so-called FREE membership!" Now I was furious. I had told her repeatedly I did not want to join anything that cost me more money. Especially $29.90 because it would never be beneficial to me; I would be losing money. I looked behind me and the line of people was getting increasingly long and the custmers were obviously restless and irritated, as was I. I started to feel uncomfortable. My husband had taken the cart out to the truck, unloaded our merchandise, and was waiting for me out there. I felt pressured, trapped and backed into a corner with her underhanded tactics! I ended up paying the $29.90 just to get out of the store! I was and still am furious, very disappointed, and disgusted, I will never shop at Harbor Freight again... not this store or any other! This woman was worse than a used car salesman. I did not come into a retail store to be shanghaied into purchasing something I did not want. This review is not the end of it. This used to be my favorite spot for good deals on tools and hardware. Now they started this ITC club and for each person, they have to dig through magazines to find the discount, then maybe send a runner. This is a disaster. This is the closest hardware store to my house. I've been to this store on three separate occasions, and during none of these visits did I leave with what I came for. My first trip was for an HVAC filter, which I assumed they stocked because Home Depot and other smaller hardware stores like ACE do. Apparently they do not stock HVAC filters. My second trip was for a 1mm allen wrench. They do not sell standalone allen wrenches -- only sets. And the sets that they stock don't go below 1.27mm. During my last experience, I was looking for a 500ma electrical fuse. I called before since I left empty-handed on my last two visits. The store associate tried looking up the stock on her computer but eventually became frustrated by its slowness and went to look herself. A couple of minutes later, she came back and told me that the ones they stock "only go down to 30." I don't know why any hardware store would only stock fuses above 30 amps, so I'm guessing the associate either misunderstood my question or is unfamiliar with the store's inventory. As another reviewer mentioned, most of what they do keep in stock is bottom-of-the-barrel in terms of quality. I can't imagine why anyone would buy anything from Harbor Freight except out of convenience. If you're looking for common, low-quality parts, Harbor Freight might be a good bet. Otherwise, steer clear. read more

It's a little chaotic when it comes to merchandising. Meaning it does have a cluttered feel to the store, but the aisles are well marked and it's fun to see what you run across in aisles. You better be ready to say "excuse" me or get to know your fellow shoppers because there isn't a lot of space either. Probably not a good idea to go shop there when you are feeling a little agitated or when it's busy in their power hours on the weekends. But, it's a good store for some basic hard goods. I'm not the handiest of people, but I do like to work on my own projects. I'd have to say the quality of items aren't the best as th many of the other yelpers will attest in their reviews. However, you can certainly can't beat price when you're trying to get something done under budget. As a bonus, my interactions at this store with the staff have been friendly. I always like that in a store. I'll give it an A-Ok, but when I invest in a drill ...I'm heading to the Big Orange Box. read more

Harbor Freight is OK for something quick and cheap, but that's about it. The service is always great, everyone that works there is knowledgeable and happy to help. Unfortunately, all of their products suck. The tools are designed to break after 2 uses, everything is made in China. Granted, the prices are very affordable. Harbor Freight Tool SCAM. I have bought items through their catalog with varying degrees of success. Most of the items are of very low quality. Recently however was the last straw. I ordered several items online, a few weeks later all but one item was delivered with the last item being listed as back ordered. After a few weeks I called to find out that the item was canceled from my order. The customer service person said they sent notification through the mail (never received any notification). I then asked if they had credited me the shipping difference as this was a heavy item. He told me they had not. Ironically this is not the first time they did this to me. Buyer beware this is a low cost low quality vendor with questionable business practices. This is further supported by the fact they have NO e-mail for customer service however they will give you an address for Snail Mail. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I'm done with this place! Always had spotty quality, and difficulty with the one exchange I ever attempted, but the last week they proved totally incompetent or outright liars with no respect for customers. I wanted to buy reciprocating saw blades, but saw only an empty rack labeled for them. Employee said they'd get more this week. Went to Canton, GA location, and manager saw 13 in stock, but no space for them on the rack and he couldn't actually find the item. 2 days later called Kennesaw, GA location and spoke to 2 more associates before wasting my time driving in. Both assured me they were on the shelf and cheaper than listed on-line. I drove in just to find a still empty place waiting for them, and a manager who'd only complain about the quality of his employees leaving me waiting for one associate to check inventory for me. The associate returned to say they had none, no idea when they would, but if I wanted to drive another hour plus to another store (same store that told me 2 days before they couldn't find them...)computer shows they have some.
