The BBs both listed some one-size-fits-all that reviews were very mixed on. Checked Miles Ace and looks like they had one (for about a $1 cheaper!) that had 2 sets of components for multiple fits. Walked in, immediately greeted by an offer to help, stated what I was looking for and got a personal escort right to the item I needed. In and out in about 5 minutes. Part worked exactly as a replacement for broken item. Miles is a bit further for me than another small box HW store I frequent, but Miles having an online search feature immediately tells me if they have what I need before driving out, which sways me over to them when looking for a unique item.

I finally found blanks, but even with the original and new blanks, I couldn't get it copied. I tried a half a dozen big box stores. It seems all the current machines require that the key matches a pre-defined blank number in the machine database (which mine does not). A perfect example of technology making things more difficult rather than easier. I saw this Ace Hardware on my way home yesterday and stopped in, hoping they could copy it. Well, they had an old key cutting machine - the kind that just duplicates whatever you put in it. The guy made me 2 copies, both of which work perfectly and charged me $0. That's right, $0. Way to go, Miles Ace Hardware - great customer service. You made a customer for life!

I've always had good experiences at this store as far as having just the right item and how to fix…read morea plumbing issue. So when I was having a problem with my chainsaw stalling and not able to hold idle I thought they would be able to fix it and not rip me off. They're a half hour drive from my house so it's not a matter of convenience; it was a matter of TRUST! Dropped it off, Poulan Pro 4218, in February and paid $35 deposit. Paid another $50 when I picked it up. Told me there was water in the fuel and they sharpened the chain. I didn't need to use it right away and assumed that they had run it before charging me. When I had a need to use it it still had the same issue. I checked fuel for water and that wasn't an issue. Had to keep it revved up or it would stall, just as before. Last week had a big job to do at my son's house so drained fuel tank and bought True Fuel thinking it had to be the fuel and not Crane's failure to fix the problem, but still the same problem, constantly restarting and keeping it revved to be able to cut. Finally gave up and used small hand held electric to finish the work. Went back to Crane this morning wanting them to try again. Their response was to pay them again to try and fix what they didn't fix before. This store may be under new ownership but I really thought as a historically reliable hardware and service provider they would at least say "gee, we're sorry let's have a look" but instead it was "30 days, pay us again" to see if we know what we are doing this time. Guess I will see if YouTube can help me. Thanks Michael for the response. Not sure why I would pay a second time for something Crane couldn't fix the first time.

I was looking for a component to fit a chandelier, and even brought the fixtures to make it easier for the associates. With no assistance; I purchased parts that I felt could work... wrong. Went to Ace in East Point and got assistance immediately. Tommy was so patient and helpful. From now on I will save my time, money, and peace. I don't mind the Sunday closing. I'll take my hard earned $ to the Ace in Conyers, where they treat people better. I wanted to buy a few power tools for a project. The guy doing inventory in the aisle next to the tools saw me looking, and paid me no mind. I got another guy to help me. They didn't have what I needed in stock. I asked him if he could check another store, and he said I'd have to call myself. WOW. Then I went to check out. One cashier had her head buried in her phone while the other cashier was standing talking to a friend, and ignored me. With all the options available these days, you'd think folks would be treated differently. I guess not. That's sad. Also, why doesn't Ace provide uniforms? It's hard to tell who works there. At least I was greeted when I entered the store. I feel it's really important to support local small businesses, but you need to treat people better than this. I see I'm not the only person who has noticed the treatment when I check the reviews on Google Maps.
