The BBs both listed some one-size-fits-all that reviews were very mixed on. Checked Miles Ace and looks like they had one (for about a $1 cheaper!) that had 2 sets of components for multiple fits. Walked in, immediately greeted by an offer to help, stated what I was looking for and got a personal escort right to the item I needed. In and out in about 5 minutes. Part worked exactly as a replacement for broken item. Miles is a bit further for me than another small box HW store I frequent, but Miles having an online search feature immediately tells me if they have what I need before driving out, which sways me over to them when looking for a unique item.

It seems all the current machines require that the key matches a pre-defined blank number in the machine database (which mine does not). A perfect example of technology making things more difficult rather than easier. I saw this Ace Hardware on my way home yesterday and stopped in, hoping they could copy it. Well, they had an old key cutting machine - the kind that just duplicates whatever you put in it. The guy made me 2 copies, both of which work perfectly and charged me $0. That's right, $0. Way to go, Miles Ace Hardware - great customer service. You made a customer for life!

Also, just found they refill propane tanks (I HATE the idea of exchanging my tank for another, and that is more costly, too). Gill-Roy's is closer to my home and a LOT less hassle than the big box guys, and with their assistance, I can usually find what I need, if they have it, very quickly without wandering around aisles and aisles.

I looked at my receipt and asked why did you not ring this for this price? This old lady told me I switched stickers on it calling me a thief. I then told her to read the sticker it had the same part number and all on it. She was real rude then when I looked at my change she was to give me 13.56 she only gave me 8.56. I told the owners who didn't seem too concerned with her behavior she must be related so on the way out I called her a cunt and told her she looked like a hag. Made me feel a bit better since she didn't even apologize for her statement. This is a small business which I try to give my business too even though the prices are a lot higher than Home Depot or Lowe's or even ace hardware but if this happened at one of those store the lady would have been terminated.
