This store must really get hit with thefts. I came here for one item. 7 piece metric crow feet fare nit. I need 15mm for a tight space job. But the rest will come in handy in the future. Only one was in stock. But some low life thief took out the 17mm . I noticed that there were other tools that were stolen out of packaging. A great example is the rubber gasket inside water nozzle. My friend pick up a $3.99 water nozzle and was about to put it in cart. I noticed that half of them were missing the rubber gasket that seals the water connection when the hose is connected. So I put it back and found her one that had rubber gasket inside. So be careful when you buy an item from here. Because some thief probably took what they want and closed packaging . Store employee was helpful and offered me 20% off the tool with missing 17mm. But I decided against it and went to La Mirada location, I did however buy stubby tools and a bunch of HF bags. read more

Bad experience. Went on a Saturday and the clerk( which I did not get her name) was rude and wasn't helpful. Went to her a few times that morning for assistances but seems she wasn't present and was not paying attention. Not listening. If she didn't know , kindly ask management or someone that can help her to help the customers. Last week, I was told by an older gentleman that he went to this harbor store location and got help out with a ball hitch attachment for his truck, they confirmed the measurements for him and was able to help him out, so I decided to go to this particular store location based off of the good information that I was told sadly when I called customer service and asked for the same thing the management team said that they're not allowed to help me go out to my truck and double check that the measurements are correct of the product that I'm buying and it is against their policy somehow to help a customer this way I decided to hang up the phone, not argue, but I did remind them that was not the response I was looking for based off of what another member has told me absolutely terrible customer service if someone needs help if a member needs help outside getting something to their car or need something getting checked out because you guys are a parts store somebody in the store should be able to come out and help them. And it sounded like a young gentleman was on the phone so I don't know if he was just being lazy cause it's early in the morning or he doesn't understand the simple fact of helping a member out. Odd preoccupation with acquiring customer personal info. They will demand your phone number and if you don't relinguish it they apparently retaliate. They will make a mistake while checking out your items, and when you request a cancellation, they will refuse to correct it without your Drivers License. They will refer to correcting their error as a "refund" - this without you ever leaving the counter. This has happened to me twice already in the last month and a half with entirely different employees. When this happens there never seems to be an actual Manager around. Harbor Freight seems like a 99 Cents Only store, bargains, yes, but seems like poorly made or low quality products - but people still shop there...I went in knowing what to expect. I wanted hearing protection, headphones that cover the entire ear. Similar to a more expensive (but better made) 3M brand. There were about three different models, $2.99, $5.99 ($4.99 if you are a member), and $9.99. I chose the $5.99 one expecting to pay $4.99. When I examined the receipt the price came out to $9.99 - $4.00 member savings - so I ended up paying $5.99 anyway. I was already outside, and didn't want to go back in to argue. I feel a little cheated, but knowing the quality of the products, I shouldn't have expected much on the service. By the way, the quality of the hearing protection in no way compares to the superior 3M version. read more

They're open! The AC is ice cold! They've got tons of tools and gadgets you never knew you need! Everything is very well organized, there's lots of staff to help you, and the aisles are very wide. The only drawback is the cashiers are still a little green, so the lines move a bit slow. Check your mail for coupons, bc I noticed a bunch of stuff there that was already on sale, but if you have your coupons, you get an additional discount. And they prices here are already very competitive! Don't think this is a place just for manly men. There's also homegoods and cookware. I spotted a 3 piece set of cast iron pans for only $14.99! I heard about this place and decided to check it out. Went to the store in Anaheim. The first time I tried buying there the line was so long so I turned around and left. I hate standing in lines. My second visit the lines were shorter. I couldn't find the tool I needed and I asked the employee where it was. He sent me to the wrong place. I asked the only other employee and she didn't know where it was. The original employee overheard the conversation and told me to go look on another isle. It wasn't there either. I finally dumped all the items I was going to buy on a shelf and walked out. Horrible customer service. Very unorganized layout of tools. I go to Home depot and I find what I want right away. Inexpensive tools, yes indeed...avoid their drill bits as you'll be disappointed...I needed a cheap "diamond hone" as per YouTube video...#600 to use in "flattening" fine Japanese water stones and a year later...this 4 sided #200/300/400/600 block plate STILL does an amazing job, I just did my Dexter 10" SaniSafe Chef knife yesterday and was impressed by it's durability. Their "other" tools are a bit "less amazing" case in point being 2 kind of "wrench sets" any handy guy needs, an open end wrench set in Metric & SAE is quite durable, it's "been" handy, don't get this all wrong...I've bought this set 3x...but to keep costs down, these aren't "quite" long enough for some applications...case in point; "frozen" bike pedals as these just lack ability to create "torque" needed to remove and replace ( R&R ) certain things...2x I've had to resort to taking bikes to the shop as I simply cannot generate enough force w the short wrench/handle design here...great for light duty but they are Guaranteed & returnable. Their "other" wrench set "every" handyman will invariably "need" is an Allen key set, here again to keep mfr costs low, Harbor Freight offers several DO NOT BUY THE TYPE OPENS, HAS PLASTIC for holding wrench set together...those fall apart 2x The BEST OPTION is individual keys in the plastic holder both METRIC & SAE however again like w open end wrench set (above) there will be certain things you simply "cannot" remove with wrenches as they are simply too short to apply full force. If you try to use a "cheater bar" over these you may bend, break, or strip both the tool & part...these are again GREAT for LIGHT DUTY ONLY and save you from spending 3x more at Lowes read more

As the current Duke here, I figured it was about time to throw them a review! I was an occasional customer for a few years at another location and became regular when a location opened near our house. I always use the discount and free item coupons. Last year we collected a year's worth of free items and put them in box for a pretty cool "white elephant" Christmas gift. The 20% off coupons make good deals even better! Their website has product reviews that I have found very useful - both in regards to quality of products, and helpful hints for successful use of many products. Most of my tools are big name brands - but I do feel that I've gotten some good quality items for great prices by reading the reviews (and stayed clear of some items!). This is especially true for consumable items such as saw blades and for tools that i use for a few projects a year. Some of these items have paid for themselves in just a couple of uses - same cost as renting! Here's my list of items that I've been happy with - paint supplies, work gloves,multi master saw blades, grinder wheels, Chicago Professional grinder, submersible pool pump, pneumatic pin nailer, pneumatic staple gun, soda/bead blaster, US General Pro toolbox, drywall lift. I got a Chicago electric demolition hammer for just over $200 that is a carbon copy of an over $800 Bosch demo hammer - I compared the two when my contractor's Bosch broke durning a job (it cost him about $200 to fix!) - He was so impressed with the quality and value that he went and bought one to keep in his truck as a backup! Love the freebies - tarps, measuring tapes, flashlights, screw driver sets, magnetic tool holder, electric circuit tester and more - great things to take to work, and items that I often misplace! I'v always experience good service, the store is always clean. I'll continue to be a fan, use them as a resource - and compare their value to the big home improvement chains. read more

Cheap prices Cheap Tools and Cheap customers have this place totally in common. Literally these china made tools are a great deal but their usage longevity has something left to be desired in many cases. But if you need something for a quick job this is your joint. Say you need a torque wrench to make sure those lug nutz are properly tightened, well this is a nice place to get one. Or how about a dremel wanna be? they have those too. Need to move some furniture or something else heavy, they have cheap 4 wheel dollies. Literally you name it, and they have it. Pro Tip: If you do not shop here with their coupons, you Sir/Madam are a complete idiot! Seriously they have a ton of easy to get coupons. You can sign up to have them mailed to you, find them online, or get them in your junkmail. These coupons are usually good for about 3-6 mos. They have everything from individual items to 25% off heck they even have freebee coupons. If you wanna save a few bucks, I highly suggest that you check this place out. I think it is well worth it. On top of everything else, they usually have a bunch good customer service. They will guide you to the right place in the store and/or help you with the best deals. Just be warned its low end gear, but in the end who cares when it is dirt cheap. read more

For the most cost effective tools Harbor Freight is the place. They give life long warranty on all hand tools. You can get a mini drill her for $10 with all the attachments and a rechargeable power drill for $20. I loved this new store it was well organised and clean. They have reduced prices on all items , I got a three pack of instant glue for 0.99 cents its amazing how they keep their prices lower then even the 99 cent store. read more

I have made many purchases at Harbor Freight over the years and have been pretty satisfied. I do, however, caution anyone not to purchase their gift cards. I was given Harbor Freight gift cards for a birthday present and when I went to spend them, I was told that they were worth nothing. I was given a phone number to a call and then was put on hold and was passed around to other phone numbers. After two and one half hours of this, I just gave up. It's senseless to waist that much time for $35.00. What I did find out is, costumer service is nonexistent at Harbor Freight, especially when it comes to gift cards. Worst customer service, I live in Anaheim hills. Came all the way over here to return an item, didn't realize I didn't have the receipt until I got to the store. I asked if I could use my phone number? Guess what they said they can't do that, I was like what? I've gone to other locations to make a return and phone number is always ok but these people just didn't want to do that. I've been to several harbor freight stores, Huntington Beach ,Corona ,Garden Grove. Their service was acceptable and I will go back to their stores. The store in Anaheim was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in any store. I called before I left to verify if they had an item I was looking for, an ATV ramp. I was put on hold and spent my entire drive on hold with the thinking they would pick up. When I got to the store 18 minutes later ,still on hold I interrupted the employee in the office texting. He proceeded to show me the ramp I was looking for and pulled the ticket and said he would bring it up front. There were several tickets left so I picked up the other items I wanted to get and went to check out to be disappointed that they didn't have the ramp. Angered I left all items right there.
