Such a beautiful stretch of beach opposite side of the Ventura Harbor. Sand is nice and soft, beautiful sand dunes and the sunset, beautiful. Perfect place for a beach day, family outing and so on. There's plenty of parking along the street as well as the lot across the street. There's also the side of the beach where's it's a bit calmer for the little ones. The jetty is also nice to walk along.

I've been coming here for a very long time overall very nice spot but very limited restaurant to go eat at and not a great selection of food around. I would recommend to bring your own hamburgers or any desirable food. Otherwise you will spend doubled the amount of cash and you will be disappointed at some of the quality. It gets super crowded on the weekends, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to make sure you would find parking especially if you're bringing the little ones!

Great times! My friends and I love having evening picnics here. We enjoy the sunset and seeing the cool surfers surf. We typically go during the week after work so not busy. We park on the street and there's plenty of parking. Beautiful views!!! So relaxing too.

Nice dog friendly beach. Long stretch of sand. Not too many people on the weekdays. I imagine it would be different on the weekend. Just chillin', watching the waves crash, and the occasional surfer and sea birds nearby. Hoping the water wouldn't be as cold in April but it is nice to relax, listen to the ocean, and watch a few pups play in the water. Large parking lot and no entry fee.

Safe little cove with gentle waves in the harbor entrance area. Plenty of parking, flush toilets, and usually more wind protected than the beach just south of the jetty. Sand volleyball courts are popular here. A walk across the road takes you to a visitor's center and marina restaurants.

Dog friendly, lots of bathrooms, free parking? This is as good as it gets! What more can you ask for from a beach? There's FREE parking, safety is enforced, not too crowded (even on the weekends), and several restrooms at the Ventura Harbor Village across the street! There's tons of different restaurants to try there too. Andria's, Coastal Cone, and The Greek seem to be the most popular. Overall... Very accessible beach with everything you need. The walk from the parking lot is just about 5 minutes and very close by. They also have lots of street parking too. I had a very stress-free experience here. KEEP IN MIND: Dogs are allowed to be off leash here! If you have allergies and a fear of dogs, you may want to re-consider.

Love this beach. It is a very busy beach. It is great for kids and learning to SUP or any other watersport as it is a nice lagoon area protected by breakwalls

Great place to spend the day, definitely would recommend getting there early to get an ideal parking spot a few steps from the sand.

Such a quiet, relaxing beach! Great beach for young kids, protected by rock walls and hidden in the Cove. Dolphin sightings is extra!! Not for surfing or body boarding, the currents are pretty chill. FREE parking too

"I was born lost and take no pleasure in being found." ―John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley: In Search of America Pretty unbelievable that I found this un-Yelped beach in Ventura of all places. Evidently other Yelpers have been reviewing this beach at the similarly named café across, because I guess the word "café" is synonymous with beach here in SoCal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anywho, this is a really great beach that seems to be very popular w/ surfers, kayakers and boaters alike. Nicknamed "Mother's Beach" by locals, this place has some standard and not-so standard amenities: -Free parking! -Multiple restrooms w/ showers -About a half-dozen or so volleyball courts setup for a first-come-first-served basis. -Dog-friendly -Located across the street from the Channel Islands Visitor's Center -One of the better beaches for swimming in the Ventura area, as the man-made jetties protect against the strong rip-currents in the area. -Good place to watch boats, as the harbor is right next door. Overall it was a cool beach that I'm sure fills-up when the weather is toasty, but a nice calm place in the winter.

It's time to hustle and crush balls at HC beach.

Some local beaches are starting to charge, but this one still offers PLENTY of free parking. In addition, there are multiple playgrounds - including a pirate galleon from when the park was established during my childhood, a THOUSAND years ago! It doesn't have the zip line that caused me to smash my leg into the concrete side, leaving a still visible scar 1,000 years later, which is probably for the best, but a kinder/gentler playground with more modern amenities for today's active child. There is also an expansive grass area, where you will find many local pups bounding about with joy. On the grassy areas, BBQs! Also a protected, man made beach cove with an easy enter, small to no wave water entry. Lots of families prefer to set up their space on the green grass and then make their way to the beach, which is an ideal way to have your picnic sand free! A foot shower is also available to rinse the beach off before you settle back onto your blanket. Plenty of benches, tables and a bathroom that is, if I'm being completely honest, acceptable, but could use an upgrade. If you're more active, make your way to the public dock to launch your kayak, paddle board, etc. I've also seen people fishing from this dock and launching remote control boats - so cute! If you haven't brought your own board or boat, there is a rental kiosk handily available. This is also a great park to stroll through. A clear path goes from the parking lot to the tip of the Ventura Harbor entrance, known as Soter Point, where a beautiful sculpture stands. When I think of the perfect beach park, I think of Marina Park in Ventura. Cheers! "CC"

This is a real nice place to surf. The break is gentle and rolls in and sometimes reforms, so it is great for longboards. The atmosphere and friendliness of local surfers here is better than anywhere else and this is a great beginner spot to surf; granted, it is up there and way up, just north of Ventura. It is worth the drive though and parking is free just off PCH next the railroad tracks. Be warned, you cannot park here prior to 7am. So if you are here for a dawn patrol be ready to move the car if the park rangers are ticketing. Also, during parts of the year, their are many rocks on entry and exit so booties can be a must here for beginning surfers. Also, the Yelp map for this location is slightly wrong. Keep driving NW (north on PCH) until you reach a distinct white bicycle set up as a memorial to a fallen rider/surfer and you have arrived. As far as the below reviews about the steep rocks, this is true but there is a concrete step like path down next to the chain link fence next to the 1st residential house at the beginning of this spot. See my photos and it is just left of the photos.

Now as I visit as a (dare I say..."Tourist") I get to enjoy the beach full time. Why is this one the best you ask? Well, it stretches out for about 50 feet before the water gets deep. This makes it perfect for kids who want to play in water but can't swim. Also the parking is only $2 per hour. And it's normally extremely chill here. Never too busy or crowded. The seafood restaurant is also really great and fresh! I love it here and if I was rich I'd buy a home across the street.
