This is the bartender that rudely turned us away and assumed our IDS were fake without doing anything about it? Lost money and business!

Got turned down from the ginger bar tender as soon as we came in... VERY RUDELY. Did not even take the time to check our IDS. Seems like if you aren't a local you won't get business here. The excuse is that they can turn down whoever, but they are very selective. Drove down the street to Brian's Bar and they served us great and without an issue! Officer Crosby at Brian's Bar was great and made sure our IDS were LEGAL AND REAL. They recommended not to come to HARBOR BAR. please take this into consideration as you plan for your evening out!

I love the Harbor bar! They're handicap accessible and they play Samuel L. Jackson movies from open to close. Friendly bartenders. Smoking hot regulars. Great tap selections and holy cow can they make a mean Espresso Martini!

Hallmark at the Harbor!

The Harbor bar is an enchanting warm place that fills the heart with affection and acceptance the bartenders are fabulous!

The exposed stone walls and that huge wall of whiskey bottles behind the bar give the place a cozy, speakeasy kind of feel. I had to try their take on an Old Fashioned, and it did not disappoint. It came loaded with a giant orange peel and topped with a couple thick strips of crispy bacon and a piece of what I'm pretty sure was a bacon-waffle garnish - such a fun, over-the-top touch that actually worked with the drink instead of feeling gimmicky. The bourbon itself was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, and the smoky bacon on top added a savory contrast that made it way more interesting than your typical Old Fashioned. The bartender clearly knew the menu well and was happy to chat through the whiskey selection, which made the whole experience feel personal rather than rushed. Great spot if you're looking for a laid-back bar with a serious cocktail program and a little bit of playful flair. Already looking forward to going back and working through the rest of their drink menu.

We were definitely pleasantly surprised to see that the 1/2 lb burgers were $3 every Wednesday. It was filling and cooked well. The bun was warm. Note, that with that special everything is extra, lettuce , cheese , chips , etc And the veggie burger was not part of the Special. Which by the way was not an impossible burger but a vegetable patty with mushrooms and onions in the patty for extra flavor. It was good! That came with all the fixings and the standard kettle chips side. Brian's definitely has the casual bar and hangout atmosphere. I really enjoyed it during lunch on a weekday, when it was more quiet. Condiments and silverware/napkins were already part of the table, no need to ask for extra. Good deal if you are in the area on a Wednesday!

Not sure that I would give this a high recommendation. It is seat yourself, and it took quite a while to get service. We were actually just about to get up to ask for water after being walked past several times when a server finally came over. Again, a place where the food was fine. Just for the price we paid for what we had, I would maybe make other choices. We split some sliders and garlic fries and that came to $30. For thay, we should have just gotten a regular burger and cut it in half. I'm so sad to see how much this place has changed from years gone by.

I even won a signed sports auction item for my hubby a couple of years ago. They have a weekly auction out on by an external local company. On this particular outing, there was a host at the entrance and we had a party of 8. Sometimes there isn't one and it says to seat yourself. I told him we had 5 adults and 3 kiddos. When he sat us he only gave us the regular menus - so I had to grab my own kid menus myself at the host stand. Then he also said - you'll have to ask another table to borrow a chair - this combined table only has 7 chairs. I politely asked him if he would ask the other table as a courtesy which he did. I am gfree and they have a lot of options with a gluten free bun you can do. I usually order the BLT burger or Cali Burger. Sometimes with the gfree bun sometimes not. I always upgrade to the side salad as my side which is delish with French dressing (no croutons). The quality of the food is really really good. One of my fav burger places in the twin cities. Another cool thing about the Muddy Cow - 2 for 1 drinks so on this particular visit I ordered a Suncruiser (pink lemonade) and totally forgot I would get 2. We also love the duck machine...which is also a highlight! $1 per craw grab. Also lots of tvs to watch sports.

It was absolutely worth the trip. Before the food arrived, I had the chance to chat with the owner, who shared that much of the lumber in the restaurant came from his family's farm. That small conversation told me a lot about the place. It feels authentic, welcoming, and built with care. As someone who loves BBQ, I know competition BBQ and restaurant BBQ are very different. The owner comes from a competition background, and he has clearly mastered the restaurant side. I ordered the turkey melt because turkey is one of the best tests of a smoker. No sauce needed. The smoke was spot on, the avocado balanced it perfectly, and my wife's brisket sandwich was excellent. The surprise star of the meal was the green beans. At a BBQ restaurant, that's not something I expected to say, but our entire group loved them and we're still talking about them. The seating was great for our large group, the prices were fair, and the atmosphere was lively. Most impressive of all, the servers were fantastic from start to finish. Every person in our group enjoyed every bite. We came because of the bacon basket. We'll be back because of everything else.

My wife had the French Onion Soup and a side of fries and a pretty decent Perfect Martini which came with a side of chips and salsa. The soup was a bit salty so she couldn't finish it, but that would be expected with that kind of soup. Otherwise it was full of cheese so she was not disappointed. I had a Swiss Bacon Cheese Burger, which was medium rare just like I ordered it. Their burger is never frozen which made for a nicely flavored and perfectly seasoned burger. It was a quiet afternoon when we went so service was good and our waiter was pleasant and attentive. The decor was "commercial" but with imagines of local sites on the walls. Not quaint by any means, but at least it was clean. Our bill was $37 which wasn't cheap, but we didn't take advantage of the happy hour specials; the Perfect Martini was $10 alone. Our mistake, but overall, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience and would try the restaurant again without protest!

It was pretty loud indoors due to it being packed, so we kind of wished we could have grabbed a table outside; their patio area was adorable! Our server Karey was a superstar: friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable regarding the menu options. My mom said her eggs Benedict was the best she's had in quite some time. My sausage scrambler was loaded with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and green onions and it was very filling. My only gripe was when I looked at the receipt after we left and saw it cost $7.90 for two cups of coffee. And the coffee wasn't even in the realm of good, so they either need to up their coffee game or lower the price.

It was sweet enough on its own that it honestly didn't even need maple syrup- it felt like fall! I loved the crunch from the corn flakes it added such a great texture and made the dish stand out. I'm glad they didn't used sweetened corn flakes I think it would have been too sweet. The veggie omelette was also really good and gave the meal a nice balance between sweet and savory. Everything tasted fresh and filling without feeling too heavy. Loved how crispy the hash browns were fried to perfection! Atmosphere & Service: Loved the coffee, and the service kept moving even though the restaurant was really busy. Our food came out at a good pace, and the staff handled the crowd well. The coffee refill was a must after driving from Nashville overnight. Overall: Such a cute spot with that classic diner charm. Between the apple French toast, veggie omelette, good coffee, and friendly service, this was a great breakfast. Definitely a place I'd come back to! Id love to try other menu items for sure!
