We arrived just a few minutes before our appointments which were scheduled at opening. The receptionist (also a Massage Therapist) was there and waiting for our arrival. It is a small place with what looks like just 2 massage rooms. We were shown to our respective rooms and asked to get ready for our sessions. Shortly thereafter my Massage Therapist arrived. She did a great job with pressure and checking in to see if the pressure was satisfactory. By the the time she got to my feet foe reflexology, I was so relaxed I dozed off...maybe 3 or more times. The entire experience was relaxing and helped to alleviate some tightness/pain that I was experiencing in my lower back. At that point when the lady returned (it was a good 5 minutes later) I was no longer into the massage as the relaxation part was interrupted. On top o that they charge you $3 for charging on a credit card. Altogether poor experience and not great service - difficult to communicate with them as well. I will say the lady massaging me was kind and I am sure she was doing her best and didn't intend to make me feel so uncomfortable - regardless if you are running a business it's critical to be mindful toward the level of service customers are getting or you loss them! To my surprise, the owner called me back and informed me that my appointment had been cancelled and someone else was booked in my place. She also told me that my Groupon voucher had been canceled--something I was completely unaware of until that moment. When I checked my Groupon account, I saw that a refund had been issued without any notice. The owner claimed her assistant had emailed me to cancel the appointment, but later admitted that the email was never actually sent. I repurchased the voucher immediately so that I could keep my original appointment time. However, she then told me I would need to pay an additional $50 because it was now considered a same-day appointment. I explained that I never canceled anything--she did--due to the refunded voucher. After further discussion, she admitted again that the cancellation email was never sent but insisted it wasn't her responsibility to call me or follow up. She told me I was "wasting her time" and that I should be grateful because Groupon only pays her $83 when she normally charges $140 I was shocked by her tone and lack of accountability. Instead of acknowledging the miscommunication or trying to work with me, she made it clear she didn't see it as her issue. All I wanted was a simple call or email to explain the situation ahead of time--something that could have avoided all the confusion. Unfortunately, I will be canceling the second voucher I purchased.
