Happy trails coffee and hot chocolate bar

We found Happy Trails on Airbnb. They were super accommodating. We had planned our trip originally in November but had to change it. They responded super quick to our response and we were able to get the dates changed. Happy Trails was originally called Bryce Point Bed and Breakfast and was started by the current owners' grandparents. When it went up for sale the grandchildren bought it and renovated it so that it could stay in the family. They still serve their grandparents recipe for 7up pancakes with Apple Pumpkin syrup. So yummy. The pancakes and syrup was my favorite breakfast we had. Each morning we could smell the breakfast cooking from our room. The host was very friendly and chatted with the guest at breakfast or when we would encounter him in our comings and going. We got the room with the king bed that was super comfy. A couple things that I would have liked to see was possibly a welcome binder that let you know where things were in the house, whether you could use the laundry room and kitchen. Also how to get a hold of the host for if we had any questions. Also they only had a space heater in our room so it could get kind of chilly.

It felt like a burden that we were checking in and she provided no direction whatsoever. She also was blasting music/videos the majority of the day while tidying up which was inconsiderate. The room was located across from the laundry area (staff only) and near the stairs. If you're a light sleeper good luck. There is NO noise proofing. The doors are old and walls are thin. You will hear everything. Thank goodness we had no one above us. Room was large but felt old. The pictures speak for themselves. The bathroom door was filthy. The bathroom fan made a horrible noise so the light was unusable. Host said there was nothing she could do. Door looked like someone tried to break it. There's no heat or air control in individual rooms so it got cold. Was this stay almost $250? No way. The location to the NP was great (about 15-20 minutes) but there has got to be somewhere nicer to stay in the area.

The views were gorgeous being on the edge of town, and we loved being able to go on easy walks, saying hi to the cute chickens in the backyard, and of course being close to Bryce! You can tell the new owners and host care about the property and their guests' experiences. We loved it, and can't wait to go back!

We arrived to what appeared to be an abandoned home in the middle of a neighborhood about 20 minutes from the park. We called the three posted numbers to no response. We walked to the front porch, knocked and rang the door bell, no response. Upon the fourth call, a man irritatedly picked up, asked if we were there, and told us to open the mail laying upside down on the ground on the side of the house, and hung up. There is no one on location. The Bed and Breakfast doesn't serve breakfast, citing Covid (though every other hotel we attended in Utah served it), and told us they left us some. We walked into a kitchen with crickets, dead bugs, moldy food, and empty containers. It was disgusting. The advertisement and pictures are nothing close to the establishments reality. The room's decor has either been removed or stolen, as there were just barren nails hanging out of the wall. There were stains on the carpet and no temperature control. The bathroom hardly fits one person and did not feel clean. There were no outdoor lights on, and we came back to a pitch black house with all the main doors unlocked. We cleaned the microwave before touching it to make dinner and rewashed all utensils and cups. Long story short, this place is nothing close to what they make it out to be and should not be listed as a suitable place to stay.

Very easy to break a leg with all the small steps and no outside lights on at any time I stayed here. They could have put lighting on a motion detector if needed at minimum. Room is simple but doesn't contain things like bath night light or any type of alarm clock. The carpet was filthy and stained although the rest of the room was clean. As one of the lower price rooms the old adage is true, you get what you pay for!

The lobby has a super tall ceiling and a lodge-like feel, really fancy and modern. Plenty of parking. The breakfast included breakfast with a big buffet of scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with ham, pancakes, cereal, sausage, bacon, fruit, tater tots, breakfast muffins and donuts had much more choices than the Best Western we stayed at in at Springdale for Zion National Park. There is one elevator. Pay attention to the receptionist when they tell you the floor. Our room was 3461, and he said the 4th floor which seemed like a mistake until we got out on the 3rd floor and could not find our room. The second digit refers to the floor number. The first number refers to the building. Room was clean, comfortable, spacious and the bathroom vanity was long. There was an inexpensive Keurig machine. I successfully made my coffee, but my husband couldn't get the machine to turn on again even with wife help. Microwave in the room. Our mini-fridge was warm and fiddling with the temperature control didn't seem to start it up. I put those comments on my Best Western survey and the general manager responded and thanked me and said the problems would be addressed. The pool and hot tub are located in the center of the buildings, so it can be more shaded there in the afternoon. The park shuttle does not stop at this hotel but Ruby's Inn about 7 - 10 minutes walking. We drove the 0.5 miles for dinner there - Cowboy's Buffet and Steak Room. We got there about 5:40 pm and by 6:30 pm, it looked like a 30-45 minute line. When they run out of the ribs, you might be stuck eating the buffet or other menu choices. The ribs were good!

Good - well priced, convenient location, front desk clerk was friendly and gave us a sack breakfast (since we would miss the actual breakfast due to leaving early). The rooms are basic but clean. Bad - I was double charged (the website I booked with charged me and the front desk clerk ran my card again). I didn't realize this until I checked my credit card statement two weeks later. I believe this was an honest mistake and this isn't the reason for the bad review. It's how it was handled filed later. I called the hotel at least 5 times to request a refund because 4 of the times no one picked up the phone and there was no answering machine. The lady told me to email the owner (the email is not published online), which I did and I included proof of the double charged. No action was taken even after I followed up via email. I had to do a credit card dispute which the hotel didn't respond to so my credit card company ended up refunding me. A lot of trouble and frustration to have to go through.

Even though we had a couple complaints (tv didn't work and no coffee in the room), it was overall a great deal for the price. The free breakfast was cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt, apples, tiny muffins, juice, coffee...which was better than most grab and go continental breakfasts. Front desk service was great too. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the tv issue.
