For whatever reason my review got burried. I can't reiterate enough how great this place is. The yurt was really comfortable. The food was outstanding. The place was quiet and out of the way in a little tiny valley behind Escalante. The owners are SOOOO nice and accomodating. Honestly, I stayed here because of them and how sweet they are. Amazing what they can fit into these yurts. They are deceptively small from the outside, but inside there are 2 rooms, a full bath, and 3 twin beds upstairs. There is also a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, cooktop, and lots of dishes. We enjoyed our accommodations, even though the beds upstairs should be used by children. I am a short, but still managed to hit my head a few times up there! Great hosts, excellent location, and lots of fun to stay in! read more

If you're visiting Escalante or Capitol Reef, do yourself a favor and stay at Escalante Yurts--it's truly a five-star experience! We stayed in a large yurt with two queen bedrooms and a loft with three twin beds, which was perfect for our family. The space was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, utensils, dishes, and even had a small cooktop, microwave, and dishwasher. Each room had its own AC/heater unit, and the living room had cozy seating, a TV, and a small fireplace. The beds and bedding were top-notch--some of the most comfortable we've experienced. Outside, we enjoyed the BBQ grill, plenty of seating, a campfire spot, tetherball, and hammock swings. It felt like luxury camping with all the comforts of home. We were especially impressed by the thoughtful breakfast stocked in the fridge: Gatorades, breakfast sandwiches, fresh apples, and heavenly cinnamon rolls. Lovely small camp with most comfortable bed on entire trip. Loads of thoughtful amenities and very helpful and friendly hosts. First time in a yurt, and it far exceeded expectations. Only caution to pass along: sound travels and exceptional ly so in such a remote tucked in camp, so motorcycle people arriving around 11 woke up everyone and host had to intervene to shut them up. Wow! A yurt stay was on my (early) bucket list, and Utah has long been my family's very favorite vacation state, so my husband treated us all to Escalante Yurts. This resort FAR exceeded my expectations which were high to begin with. We stayed at Aspen (the name of our yurt). It was gorgeous. Very very roomy and beautifully decorated. Each day our fridge and basket were restocked with delicious bakery goodies. What a nice touch. The grounds were lovely, with fun hammocks, a fire pit, and plenty of room to roam. All set back so that all we heard were the sounds of nature and we were treated to a million stars at night. Jan and Scott were on hand whenever we needed anything and they were so friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. I 100% recommend Escalante Yurts if you're looking for a glamping experience in an absolutely beautiful part of the country and a vacation you won't forget. read more

Wow. This is one of the most luxurious places I've ever stayed in. ‍ As soon as we pulled in, the owners made us come into the main office. We grabbed our keys and they gave us a map of the area.They also gave us breakfast for the next day which consisted of fruits, granola bar, and a quiche. We stayed in the Aspen yurt. Outside that you're at there's a small patio where you can sit down, a grill and your parking spot is right outside. Inside, the yurt is heavenly. It is well heated, and furnished with very trendy yet functional furniture including a refrigerator, a microwave a couch and a TV, a very comfy bed a dining table. Loved the bathroom: the shower added to the comfort. The bed had great linen a perfect down and was very comfortable to sleep on. Very close to Grand Staircase Escalante and a great place for you to retreat while hiking and exploring this are! read more

Sadly, we're only here for 1 night. This place is beautiful and run seamlessly. We arrived buy after the 4pm check-in but we were still greeted by a friendly face. The yurt is of pristine cleanliness and decorated quite nicely. We even had breakfast for the next day waiting for us. Not only are the Yurts perfect inside but the grounds are immaculate as well. We stayed 2 nights at the Aspen yurt. I brought a few things I feel like I should bring for camping. What surprised me is that there was everything we needed inside our yurt. LUXURY!!!! It was so cute, comfortable, great location both to the adorable town and for adventuring in the parks, and decorated and outfitted in a very high end way. The bed and bedding was like sleeping on a cloud. We stayed here in September and the temperature (AC) was delightful. It comes with breakfast- a great idea but... I definitely would recommend (and possibly stay here again) although it was quite expensive and depending upon what you are used to or expecting, it might be quite irritatingly noisy. You see, there was a multigenerational family staying in 3 cabins and in the evenings, they sat around the bonfire pit (near the covered area with hanging chairs). They thought it was fine if their kids ran chased each other while yelling, and used the chairs as swings. This went on both nights we stayed and very much impacted the peace and quiet we thought we'd find while staying in a yurt in the middle of nowhere. Here are the things that I hope they'd consider to make the stay (even) better. Clothing: It would be nice if there were some drawers to unpack clothes. The only thing we had was a standing coatrack. Also, it would be nice to have had hangars so that we could hand wash some clothes and let them dry outside/or a small clothesline and clothespins. If they don't want wash hanging on a clothesline, then at least hangars and a place to hang them inside. The light on the mini-split unit is VERY bright at night. Would have been nice had there been tape or a cover/cloth. And while I guess it's not possible to have a shade over the skylight, be aware on a full moon night, the yurt is VERY bright inside for sleeping. There was only 1 tiny bar of soap in the bathroom. We would have liked at least two so we didn't need to move the bar from sink to shower. Also tissues. Now for the breakfast: The menu sounds delightful, but the execution needs attention. Both days were fairly high carb, low protein, quite small meals. The quiche with goat cheese that put into the fridge was still frozen the next morning, making it soggy. The breakfast burrito with sausage was minuscule as was the fruit cup made up of 2 strawberries, a couple of grapes and a slice of orange- hardly worth the disposable plastic cup they were packed into. There was gorgeous looking pastries (chocolate croissants or something like that), but what really would have been nice would have been some low-fat, low sugar Greek, hard boiled eggs, and a sizeable portion of fresh fruit. Perhaps an choice would be helpful as perhaps people might prefer the "elegant" high carbs, low protein and appreciate the goat cheese and sausage, both of which are not in my diet). Also, we are decaffeinated and don't drink artificial creamer. So decaf tea and real milk would be greatly appreciated! read more

We enjoyed our stay at the yurts. You are going to drive for a while to get anywhere at all in that part of Utah, but the yurts are as conveniently located as seems possible. The owners are knowledgeable and willing to share suggestions for the area. Breakfast was better than the typical "free" hotel breakfast, but it's pretty sparse. If you have big eaters or are trying to fill up before a day of hiking, you're going to need to bring some additional food. My only pet peeve is that when you make a reservation for 4 people, 2 of them are going to be sleeping on the pull out couch. It was annoying to have to make up the couch bed ourselves at 10 pm, only to find that we did not have the right size sheets for the mattress. Mistakes happen, don't hold it against them. The yurts were great & we would stay there again if the opportunity arose. read more

This place was so beautiful and the staff were appropriately distant but available! We got a welcome text and help with hiking suggestions, as well as restaurants. The interior of the yurt was gorgeous, very spacious and with restoration hardware vibes. It was the perfect socially distant getaway destination for my birthday! We took a last minute trip for Easter weekend and spent one night at Escalante Yurts in the Cottonwood yurt. What wonderful, interesting place to stay! The Cottonwood yurt was surprisingly large with two bedrooms (queen sized bed in both), a nice sized sitting areas with a sectional, table and a beautiful UHD TV with DirecTV service. There was also a nice kitchen area with a large table. There is also an upstairs loft area with three twin beds. The bathroom and shower were clean, modern with all the hot water and water pressure of a nice hotel. This place was surprisingly clean and modern on the inside, with a lot of camping like charm to the outside. The yurt also has a nice large deck out front with chairs for lounging around. There were quite an assortment of interesting space heaters (and air conditioners) throughout the yurt. As there were just three of us, this place was huge! read more

Being from Los Angeles, coming to a small town like Escalante, UT can be nervous but we were greeted with warm and kindness right away from owners Jan and Scott as soon as we arrived there for our check in. They were very informative of yurts life, points of interest, and made several suggestion of local dining locations. Escalante Yurts fitted for us best because it's in the middle between Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National. Very kid friendly also. Our daughter truly enjoyed staying inside a yurt. Seeing deer running around outside and staying inside a yurt was definitely out of our comfort zone, but both Jan and Scott help made us comfortable and ease our fears. My expectations were exceeded having had been cautious leading up to my reservation. Upon arrival, later at night, our reservation papers were waiting for us outside the front office with a lovely welcome note from the owners Jan and Scott. The directions were crystal clear and everything was turnkey ready - nothing had to be done or modified. For me, I travel quite a lot for work as a consultant and stay in a variety of name brand and unique one-off hotels, thus hold a high standard for a night away from my personal bed. To this point, Escalante Yurts is near the top of my list. I stayed in the Aspen Yurt: - Large and clean bathroom. Plush and plentiful towels. Ample soaps to use. - Large TV with satellite channels for a wide variety of choices. - Very comfortable mattress, pillows and sheets. - Decor jazzed the room up and really put it over the top. Escalante was a perfect in between stop when traveling from Zion to Moab. All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend staying here while visiting the national parks in Utah. read more

It's the definition of "glamping" and the inside is so cute and comfortable!!! The best part is the homemade breakfast the owners bring you. When I was crafting our family road trip, we added Escalante to our schedule purely because of Escalante Yurts! I saw that it was newly opened and already the reviews were coming in very positively. I had always wanted to stay in a yurt, but they were usually small (made for 2 people), and I have a family of 5. Jan (one of the owners, who was one of the nicest people you'd ever meet) met us when we checked in and brought us a tray of breakfast goodies the evening before, which consisted of fruits, oatmeal, and yogurt. She even catered to our food allergies, which was really awesome care. If we ever visit Central Utah again, we are definitely staying there again. read more

We loved staying at the Escalante Yurts! It was more than we ever expected! You could not ask for a more peaceful, gorgeous setting among the stars and red rocks. Escalante Yurts were one of the highlights and saviors of our trip to Grand Staircase - Escalante National Park. The yurts were extremely clean, comfortable and so well decorated and thought out. The detail put into decorating and amenities was bar none. One of the nicest places I've stayed! The grounds were so inviting, you got to feel like you were in the woods with modern day conveniences like a shower. Beautiful fire pits throughout and lounge chairs to use. The was a grill at each yurt to cook outdoors. Fun hammock swings to use and a tether ball court. The property and amenities were one thing, but the hosts were truly wonderful. Jan and Scott run the property take care of each guests. Are extremely warm and inviting, very knowledgeable and helpful in the hike. They are also extremely kind hearted people. My daughter and myself for great exhaustion and couldn't finish the hike. My husband, son and our group who was also struggling with it and we had all ran out of water, continued on to find help. My husband and son made it out of the hike back to the car with enough reception dialed 911 for search and rescue, they were backed up and we unclear when they could come for us. The search and rescue team is made up of volunteers service the entire southern part of Utah, meaning this one team already had multiple searches ongoing before they could get to me and my daughter. My husband called Jan to ask some questions and without hesitation. They said they would come to help. They drove their side by side over an hour to reach my husband and helped my husband at dusk start to look for us. Luckily some good Samaritans were helping me and my daughter and connected with us on the way out. Scott brought his side by side to the top of the Ridgeline of peekaboo canyon and helped shave off 1 mile in the journey back to the car which at this point was dark. Scott and Jan helped save our lives that night. So eternally grateful to them and all the good people who helped us finish our hike that day. read more

Staying here makes you re-evaluate your life and think how you can live in a yurt or at least create your own yurt village. Our stay was relaxing and just what we needed after aches and pains of hikes and several bad nights in motels. This is a destination as is the Escalante area. The hosts (Scott & Jen) are awesome and the breakfast they provided in the room each day was outstanding (baked goods and stuff in the fridge you could heat up in the microwave like breakfast burritos and quiche). We used one of the firepits one night to have smores. The sky at night is really dark so you can enjoy the views of the spur of the galaxy we travel on. The room was really comfortable and the linens were luxurious and our sleep in thee dark, quiet location was so restorative to body and soul. Our kids loved it and were thrilled to stay in a yurt (although they thought they'd be roughing it more with a bunch of Yak skins - too many nature shows on Mongolia). read more

Both were fabulous, luxurious and a true escape after a long day hiking. Kids loved the rope swings, fire and we all loved the swings. We ended up canceling our reservations in Bryce to stay longer. Stayed at Escalante Yurts earlier this month. My husband and I stayed in the Willow, and my parents stayed in the Aspen. The yurts were beautifully decorated and had all of the amenities to make the stay comfortable (AC, luxury bathrooms, refrigerators, grills, microwaves, etc.). The owners clearly put a lot of TLC into the care of their property and each yurt -- they are super clean! To top it off, the beds were AMAZINGLY comfortable. (My husband and I have been wondering if we can replicate it at home since we left!) Highly recommend Escalante Yurts is you're looking for a quiet place to get away! One tip: groceries are difficult to come by in Escalante. Consider bringing them into town with you to make use of the grills on site. read more
