Book direct - I saw nightmares all around me from people who booked through online booking. Book a 'classic' room in the 'motel' area. New, nice and very comfortable. Actually had working Wi-Fi and cell reception. Of the big 5 these are the best accommodations I have found. Pay the difference to stay in park - you will not be sorry. Dinning room was good; as was the food - depending on how busy things are - the wait may be a bit. The General Store is well stocked and easily accessible. I can not stress how much nicer all the big 5 are 'off season'. Before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Otherwise the crowds really detract from the experience. Plus the rooms are not air conditioned and can be a touch warm in the summer months. Most viewpoints are a bit crowded but walk some trails and you'll find some that are all yours to enjoy. read more

The lodge at Bryce Canyon suffers from many problems: old age, old amenities, and a lack of clubhouse food options. However, the worst thing that plagues this establishment is its customer service or lack thereof. Never before in my history of staying at hotels have I had a supervisor at the front desk hang up on me because they did not want to field my very polite call about the horrible stay we were having - especially on our honeymoon trip! The food service staff was underwhelming, most giving off an attitude that made me think they didn't want to be there. One of our food servers was especially curt and even roughly placed food and coffee cups on the table before walking away without any sort of verbal exchange. The friendliest person we met during our stay was the gift shop attendant who was excited as it was their first season there. I would urge anyone looking to stay near Bryce Canyon National Park to look at the Best Western plus in Bryce Canyon city. It is 3 miles away from the park and you do not have to bother with any of the bologna that you will encounter at the lodge at Bryce. Oh, and you will also get a TV, which is something that the Lodge at Bryce does not have. read more

This lodge has the best location in Bryce Canyon. We stayed at the Sunset Lodge and it was really close to the rim to enjoy the views. The room and service are great. My family stayed at the western cabin. I was lucky to be in cabin 517, so close to the rim trail and in between sunrise and sunset point. The check-in staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The cabin was comfortable with private bath and a gas-lit fire place. Even though the facility was old, it was definitely a privilege for in-park stays compared to other national parks. The front porch was a very nice feature. I enjoyed sitting at the porch watching my kids played. During my stay, I had breakfast and lunch at the dining room. Due to staff shortage, only buffet was offered. The food selection was decent and ingredients were fresh. Most meat entrees were overcooked and dry that I hope they will improve on. The service was very friendly and it was a great choice for a break after hiking and horseback riding. Overall, I recommend staying inside the park and the dining option. The location is central and it saves a lot of time driving to other places. Convenience makes it a relaxing vacation. read more

This lodge is seasonal. We stayed here in between Christmas and New Years, and only one section of the lodge was still open (and that section was going to be shut down for winter season a few days after we left). It's very bare bones during "low season". Even the restaurant was closed. The only food was in the reception area where they had some snacks and instant noodles. In terms of lodging, it was pretty standard. The perk of staying *in the park* is that you are walking distance to Bryce Canyon. However, because Bryce is a relatively small park, it's easily accessible enough for day trips from just outside the park. read more

The room is a little small but I guess this hotel located inside the Bryce Canyon National Park so it's good and comfy instead of to stay at any others place in this park . The staffs are very nice & friendly. The walking distance to sunrise & sunset point is very close to the hotel. Love the location, the price is not that expensive. Also, the wifi is bad (the staff also told us when we check in but they said this hotel is old so we totally understand ). Before providing a review of the room, I want to thank the staff for finding a phone charger and cable I left behind and sending it to me at the Lodge's expense. This was really above and beyond. Our family had an overnight stay so we could enjoy two days of hiking and a morning mule ride. Our rooms were very spacious and comfortable. That we were within walking distance of the trails was icing on the cake. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a really nice, rustic dining hall that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The rooms are a bit on the dark side and not well lit which was why I didn't notice the black phone charger and cable I left behind. So, it pays to be extra careful to search the room before checking out. read more

My first time to Bryce Canyon and I was so excited I was able to secure two nights at in the national park at Sunset Lodge over the 4th of July week. We arrived way early and had no issue waiting for our room to be ready around 4pm. We had a nice lunch at The Lodge. I had soup and a glass of wine. We also shopped at the gift store and I bought a lovely ring. After lunch, we drove up to Rainbow Point and then stopped at all the other lookouts on our way back to the Lodge. When we returned our room was ready. The Sunset Lodge is hotel-style - maybe 30 rooms altogether. Each room has a porch and ours (lucky us) looked out towards the trees and the rim. Keeping in mind we were in a national park, it is pretty rustic. No TV, no air conditioning, and WiFi is spotty at best. But WE ARE IN A NATIONAL PARK miles away from any city. The amazing views were literally outside the door of our room. The Lodge sits literally on the edge of Bryce Canyon - a mere 5-minute walk from our room. Our room was clean and efficient. Nothing fancy, but I came with no expectations and was not disappointed. And sitting out on our porch each morning with a cup of coffee was priceless. Our meals at the The Lodge were very very good. I had my doubts since a lot of the NPS restaurants turn out "cafeteria-style" food, but Bryce was like a 4 Star restaurant. I had Yellow Creek Shrimp Tacos one day - delicious. Queen's Garden Beet (spring mix greens with honey Dijon vinaigrette topped with roasted red beets, mandarin oranges, bleu cheese crumbles and walnuts) and Panguitch Pork Chop (salt-brined and marinated, char grilled and topped with apple chutney served with mashed potatoes and root vegetable medley) one evening - amazing, pizza at Valahalla Pizzeria another night - no complaints. Plus they serve Farr's Specialty Ice Cream, which the day I ordered it the special was chocolate ice cream, with marshmallow swirl, and brownie chunks - can you say heavenly. Unbeknownst to us, we didn't realize we could not buy wine in a grocery store in Utah. Wine & liquor are only available at state liquor stores. But we could buy a bottle wine at the restaurant while we dined there. Our stay at Sunset Lodge in Bryce National Park was magical and was the highlight of our week in Utah and Nevada. Major "chillin" involved. We grabbed a bench on the edge of the canyon each evening and gave serious thought to the meaning of life and simple took a deep breathe and was in the moment. read more

As national park lodges go this one is pretty standard. The room layout is almost identical to other park lodges we've been in - rustic decor, not very well lit, only difference is there is a small dining table which is convenient. We are in the Sunset building which is close to some trails. Only problem is that there is a very loud and persistent humming noise in the room - in fact not just the room but you can hear it in the hallways as well as when you approach the building entrance. Not sure where it's coming from but it's a very disturbing sound and never stops. I mentioned it to the staff at the front desk but they didn't have an explanation for it. You might not have a problem if you are staying in one of the cabins. Because of this I will not stay here again. For one thing the park is not that far from the town of Bryce Canyon and there are plenty of lodging there, as well as food options (in off season only the small general store is open inside the park with very limited choices). read more

My wife, daughter and I stayed in a western cabin here in mid August for two nights. Being just a one minute walk to the rim was fantastic and afforded is numerous opportunities to view the hoodoos at various times of the day with ease. Parking was easy with no issues. Our cabin was rustic but comfortable. The gas operated fireplace was sweet and took the edge off the cool evenings. The in cabin frig kept our water bottles cold for the next sweaty hike of the day. Wifi and TV were non existent so prepare the kids in advance. There is a wide selection of board and card games available at the front desk for the borrowing. It's a bit of a crap shoot with your neighboring cabin mates as noise carries far here. We generally had no issues except when some noisier groups were walking through. Other than that we had an enjoyable stay and would return again. read more

PROS: You can't beat the location here, of course! We stayed at the Sunset Lodge (the only one open during Thanksgiving), and it was a 5-10 minute walk from the rim. The rooms definitely have a quaint lodge vibe, each with a porch made of logs of wood. Even the first floor porches are a little above ground level, with a railing, offering some privacy. CONS: It was a bit confusing getting checked in during their limited winter services. We pulled up to the main lodge, started getting things out of the car, and walked up only to see a small 8.5x11" sign that said the main lodge wasn't open and check-in is only at Sunset Lodge. It would have been nice to have a sign on the road that leads up to the main lodge! That big road sign did exist further down the road. Once we were at the Sunset Lodge, they had re-appropriated two hotel rooms as the check-in office and a public restroom. With the whole quaint lodge vibe, this meant that there was no TV. Also, the wifi was EXTREMELY weak (we were warned about this at check-in as they were fully booked, where they also told us the wifi hub is in the upstairs lounge, where several guests hung out to access internet in the evening). THE RESERVATION PROCESS: We made our booking by phone easily enough, 2 months in advance. Within a couple weeks, they were fully booked (we were unable to expand the reservation to 2 rooms). PLEASE TAKE NOTE!! I initially made my reservation on https://www.nationalparkreservations.com/, but that was a huge mistake. Don't be fooled, as this looks like the official booking site for National Parks lodges! They don't guarantee a room at your first choice of lodges/hotels, and even though there was space available at Bryce Lodge, they were about to book me at some motel 20 minutes away. This site looks legit, but it is completely NOT associated with the National Parks Service or the official Bryce Canyon Lodge. They charged me a deposit, which I disputed with my credit card and had nulled. read more

All fine dining dining rooms in national parks have the same menu and this was no exception: steak, salmon, etc. we had the rib-eye and it was ok only; tender but not grilled at high enough temperature so no sear. The hostess was a joy: informative, kind, calm. The waiter was not. Very inattentive to us. Come to think of it, he was similar in style to our waiter at Yellowstone. Perhaps Xanterra needs to do some diversity training as you could see the waiters respond differently to people based upon their race. But, one doesn't go to NP do I g rooms for quality of food. My choice is always to stay inside the park. Bryce was no exception. Typical National Parks lodge. A "motel " style building as well as cabins. We elected the motel option. There are no amphitheater views with any lodging options here. But the amphitheater is less than a 5 minute walk away. You are set in a grove of Ponderosa pines. So nice and peaceful. No tvs in the rooms. Which was fine with me. They claim wifi is only accessible in the main lodge, but we had fabulous service in our room. read more

Me: Hey daddy, how many stars would you give this place? Dad: NONE. The main lodge itself is cozy with over-sized couches and rocking chairs. The gift shop is located to the left of the front desk, the dining room to the right. Wifi was spotty on my phone and internet flat out didn't work in the dining room; however, I had a great signal in our room. The room itself was what our family hated. We stayed at the Sunrise Point building. It was extremely old, outdated, and smelled just as ancient. I gave the lodge two stars instead of one because I was able to take a shower and sleep in the bed without too much discomfort. Keep in mind that I'm extremely picky about hotel rooms. I get grossed out easily so I'm glad that the shower was clean. It also had a timed heat lamp. I still slept with pajama pants and socks though because I wanted my skin to touch the bed as little as possible. Yes, I'm that picky. My family's main complaint was that the bed was extremely uncomfortable, particularly the pillows. No one got a good night's sleep. My dad chose this place because Frommers recommended it and because it's located inside the park. We all now agree that the benefit of its location isn't great enough to chose the lodge over the Best Western located right less than a five minute drive away from the park's entrance. read more

We stayed in Sunrise lodge, with a large deck and easy access to the sunrise view, which is pretty darn spectacular. We have enjoyed staying at Zion and North Rim park lodges, but this one doesn't take advantage of the view potential. It is a historic spot, and the dining room is pleasant. We booked the North Rim lodge well in advance, but we weren't sure if we would make it in a day drive from north rim to Bryce, and had not been that impressed with this lodge on our previous visit. When we got close and back in cell range, we reserved their last room during high season when most of the tourists are from Europe or Asia. They tend to congregate in the Lobby, all trying to suck up the slow Wifi that is only available there. It really is nice to get away from it all in a park, so no Wifi is fine with me. The lodge room is spendy at $200, but it really is a one of a kind place. The dining room has a nice wine list. Food was pretty good, considering your options are limited if you stay here. read more

This place exceeded my expectations at every turn while I was staying there for new years. I think it's the first year they've kept any part of the lodge open during winter and it was just one building--the sunset motel. That meant there was no restaurant, no real lobby, no fireplace, but it did mean you could stay on the rim of the auditorium while it was covered in snow. The building was literally 100 yards from the rim and we had a balcony that faced the rim even if you couldn't see it through the pine trees. Still, the balcony with views of the snow-covered pines and clear night sky were how my wife and I rang in the new year while drinking nearly frozen champagne slushies because it was so cold outside that it literally partly froze as you poured it. Later on I'd check and find out it hit -15 degrees outside, but long after we'd retired back into the room. The room was big with two queen beds and lots of space for us and our 18-month-old to roam about in. It had a mini-fridge and microwave which we used extensively to feed ourselves without a restaurant around. The "lobby" (which was really just a hallway) always had hot chocolate, tea, and coffee ready and during breakfast hours they had a "light" continental breakfast with the usual things including bananas, cereal, instant oatmeal, bagels, and muffins. Really, the gem of it was just how close it got you to all the major hiking in Bryce. You can't beat being able to walk 2 minutes out of your room and be looking at all of the hoodoos from the canyon rim or hiking down into the amphitheater to the Queen's garden. Lastly, and this is somewhat surprising, the rooms seemed to have very thick walls. I heard pretty much nothing even though I know the place was full and had many kids (including mine) staying there. That's a really nice feature if you're staying with kids that need sleep. read more

This place is great! National Park concessionaires Xanterra & Delaware North could learn a lot from Forever Resorts. For example, stay at a Xanterra property "Oh yeah, the WiFi is terrible," and they just don't care. Here at Bryce, the WiFi is great. I know that sounds like a first world problem, but some of us need brief, reliable connectivity with work in order to relax on vacation. The food is great here too! Contrast with a Delaware North property where you get the same lowest common denominator packaged crap. The rooms are clean & comfortable, good beds with comfy sheets. The staff are very attentive here & they're taking COVID very seriously, high mask compliance, rearranging the furniture in common areas so people are automatically distanced, sanitizing the food ordering area between EACH guest, creating one way traffic patterns in common areas. read more

If you have toddler age kids they might not like this place that much. We spent 1 night here and 2 at Ruby's. They liked the other by far. Get a calzone at LaVal's for dinner... You'll thank me. We stayed at Bryce for two nights over spring break. Of the three National Parks we visited on this trip, the communications and service from the Lodge at Bryce was the most lacking. Case in point, we initially booked a Western Cabin only to later be informed that the cabins would not yet be open for the season so they were moving us to a hotel room (some of the literature refers to it as a motel, but it has interior corridors so I would consider it a hotel). We ended up in the Sunrise Point building in Room 203. It was no big deal as the room we had ended up being perfect for us, and it was probably a little too chilly (snowing in early April) to stay in a cabin anyway. Our room was on the second floor with two queen beds, a mini-fridge, a table and chairs, and a covered balcony with views of the forest. The building is somewhat split in two with a stairway and lounge area in the middle of the two wings, so if you want to chill out or play cards somewhere other than your own room you can do so. The room itself was warm, quiet, and comfortable, and was just a short walk to the main lodge or to the rim of the canyon (actually an amphitheater). An added bonus was that on our second morning mule deer were grazing 20 feet away from our building. The only real downside to the room was that the WiFi was intermittent at best, so when I had to check on work emails I would have to go hang out in the lobby of the main lodge. read more

Excellent location and great facilities! I had a great stay in the Sunrise Point building, just a 2 minute walk from the rim! The staff was pleasant and kind, and check-in was quick and painless. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant's food was fair, with the exception of the breakfast buffet, which was basic but good. The hiking in the area is wonderful, and there's a free shuttle which drops you off at the main points of interest. I would definitely stay here again! read more

I know, I know, the room doesn't seem worth XXX dollars. You're not paying for the room, you're paying for the location! This is the same with all the NPS in park lodging, and if people go into it thinking it's going to the same value as a highway-side chain hotel built 4 years ago, you're obviously going to be disappointed. If you go into it thinking what a cool and relaxing atmosphere it is to get to spend the night in such an awesome location, and with an old-school charm, you'll be happy. Make the decision on cost before you go, once you decide to go for it, don't look back! Meals were pretty tasty, extremely convenient, and pretty reasonably (for a tourist attraction) priced. The lack of in-room AC (we were in the Sunrise Unit in July) was a bummer when we arrived and were rather parched, but temps cooled overnight to a comfortable sleeping level. The little balconies were adorable, altho we were only there one night leaving not much time to enjoy it. What we did get to enjoy was a half-asleep careful stumble out to the edge of the canyon to catch the incredible night sky. We paid $25 more than Ruby's and $60 more than Cedar City to stay at the lodge- that view was easily worth 5x that- incredible! All the staff there was also very nice and helpful, and it was easy to get an early start to our hike the next day to beat the heat. Especially if you only have a night to spend at Bryce, I recommend making the most of it by staying in-park at the lodge. read more

We had low expectations due to many mediocre meals at other National Park lodges. But wow, we were very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant 's focus on fresh and local ingredients, sustainable seafood, and healthy cooking are a very welcome upgrade to what we experienced in this area 20 years ago. The fish tacos were very tasty, with a good amount of filling. The corn tortillas were a bit stale, so strike a point there... but we were happy to dump the ingredients out and devour them salad-style. I heard rave reviews of the grilled chicken sandwich, which was a huge portion, beautifully presented, and perfectly cooked. The server was very professional and warm. I regret not staying for dessert. read more

The friendly and excellent service and location of the lodge being inside the park deserve a 5 star rating. But the out-dated, semi-unclean state of the actual room you're paying $165 a night before tax is like a 2 or 3. So it averages out to a 4 star. We checked in late and since I had called to let them know ahead of time that we were on our way, when I ran, out of breath, to check in, they addressed me by name and made the check in process really easy. We stayed at the Sunrise Point building. The building interior is super old school and the room wasn't much better. I checked our beds beforehand to ensure there were no bugs and I'm glad I didn't find any, but I found lots of random hair and dirt and fuzz balls in the sheets and in between the mattresses. Thank goodness for no bugs but gross on the other stuff I found. The sheets weren't even fitted, they were just flat sheets that were just lain on top of the flat, old mattresses. I threw that sketchy bedspread into the corner of the room. Like the other reviewers warned, you have to try to take your shower when others in the building aren't cause if you take it during prime time, evenings, you'll end up with lukewarm or even a cold shower. :( But it was snowing outside when we came and being on the 2nd floor, it was breathtaking to see the snow falling outside onto the trees from our cool outside porch which every room had. That was cool. And walking to the lodge and being so close to the trails was amazing. I just think they need to renovate the lodging area so more people will stay there and want to come back to stay more often. We spent a little time in the actual Lodge area which was a quick 3 minute walk from our building. We had dinner there one night which I reviewed separately. I had read online that the gift shop here has one of the best collections of Native American jewelry and I liked the gift shop a lot. I ended up getting a pair of turquoise earrings where were about $100 and beautiful. Make sure to stop at the gift shop. read more

For the price it doesn't get any better than this people! These cute cabins are a one minute walk to the rim of Bryce Canyon lookout! These book up a year early so plan ahead! I recall $125/night end of April/beginning of May 2017. These are small and cozy. We had a gas fireplace that looked like a log burning fireplace. Small dorm size fridge. Full bath and two full or queen size beds. Small table with two chairs. For two people it is more than enough. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars this the bathroom floor had a big dust bunny in the corner behind the door which made me think the cleaners don't shut the door when sweeping or moping plus it is a small cabin. Fortunately we spend more time exploring the canyon than in our room! This remains one of the best deals and best location! read more

We stayed at Sunset Lodge and loved being so close to the canyon, ranger talks, trail ride and especially feeling like we are part of the National Park system!! The rooms are large and a bit dark, but the bed was ultra comfy especially after a day of hiking. There's a fan to plug in if your room gets warm in the summer and sleeping with the door open and the sound of birds was idyllic, although in the real heat it may be very oppressive. Put down the screen time and enjoy the natural beauty. In the heat of summer it could be pretty bad without a/c though. read more

3.5 stars So you arrive at Bryce Canyon around lunchtime ready to marvel at the myriad of hoodoos (via all the many overlook points) but also suppressing a growling stomach. What to do? Eating at the Bryce Canyon Lodge is good to very good. Their selection of food for lunch is limited by the Department of the Interior-contracted Xanterra corporation, which gives the place a more of a food service cafeteria feel than a rustic Utah lodge dining restaurant. This is not a really bad thing, just that the Xanterra corporation's presence could have been a bit more muted and less apparent in the restaurant. This review is restricted to lunch there, not the lodging or the souvenir shop. You can either pig out at the Bryce Canyon Taco Bar for $11, which is quite good by the way, or you could choose from a rather sparse menu of standards, Appys: Chicken Quesadilla or Buffalo wings - $9 Two lunch salads for $9.50 each, or one of eight burgers and sandwiches all roughly $8. The Navaho Trail Grilled Cuban (Sliced roasted pork loin, honey ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on a pressed hoagie roll) was very good and would have easily been my choice second to the Taco bar. The Taco bar had all the fixings you could want for a taco; seasoned sliced chicken breasts, ground beef, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, olives, shredded lettuce, onions, tomato chunks, your choice of either taco shells or warmed tortillas.The shells were busted but they were thin and crisp and served as an excellent base to the above fixings. It's even got your standard sides of Spanish rice, re-fried beans and black beans--all pretty good. The Rim Garden Burger and Inspiration Cheeseburger were reported to be good by our friends. I recommend paying the additional 65 cents to upgrade the fries to the excellent sweet-potato fries. The coffee was quite good by food service standards but was nearly $3 with unlimited refills. I understand this is a historic , rustic hotel. It does not mean that management can let the room be dirty and have drafts. The room next to us was empty so I can feel the cold draft coming from under the connecting door. So i put some towels to block the draft but could not really block the draft coming from the side and top of door. Carpet: ewwwy feeling. It was damp (the room smelt damp) and dirty. I wore my shoes the whole time. Please store your food properly. Inside luggage or better keep it in the car because we had a visitor at 4 am. I heard something in our food bag, it was a mice! Surprise! :) The mice pretty much got our supplies. I let the manager know and she explained that it is a rustic hotel and gave $33 refund. I did not really care for the refund because our rest was ruined and we needed to have a good rest because we were going to hike all day. Should have stayed outside the park where I could sleep for $99/night instead of $200/night at the lodge. I picked this hotel thinking that we are staying inside the park-saving the drive and time. I booked for a room with bryce view. turned out my view was trees. to get the bryce view i had to walk 10 minutes to the trail. I paid extra thinking that the experience is going to be as great as staying at Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge. WRONG! I agree with Arrianne's review. I went to bed fully clothes as well. Stay outside the park. Better room, cleaner and cheaper too!!! The hotels outside the park is 5 minutes away from the park. Anywhere else this lodge would be 2-3 stars and $89 a nite but since your room is a stone throw away from the edge of one of the most magnificent canyons in the world you gotta pay the price...hey, I love indoor plumbing just like the next gal. The rooms were immaculate, the bathroom design is another, one of the rings around the shower head was dangling & the toilet is loud & can suck an internal organ out of you. Don't know if the noisy fan does anything but make too much noise. All in all its location, location. Room was comfy, double pain windows kept the outside construction at bay. Lobby has wifi. Rustic. We asked where we could buy wine, the young gal claimed she didn't know....so you'll know, just outside the park at Ruby's resort/store for wine & amenities. Restaurant is to be desired, an over priced mess. And we went to the restaurant for dinner & they put prickly pear sauce on everything! Wilted spinach of a salad, my BF salad was missing the strawberries. Thank goodness wine is served in the restaurant. After the restaurant fiasco, we decided to purchase some cereal, milk, gourmet coffee, wine & munchies to place in our fridge(provided) microwave & small coffee maker included. For Christ sakes does anyone in this area do gourmet food....shocking! One would think the canyon inspires a persons creative juices. Besides the canyon being the most inspiring & awesome show stopper, I'll include the gift store, it is well curated, but the staff should be educated on the artist work. We loved our stay at the lodge. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was much nicer and more modern than the similarly priced cabin in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (despite being managed by the same company and having the same layout). It was great to walk right out of your room and be at the rim of the canyon. We did not miss the air conditioning as the nights were cool. Or the tv. Spent our evening looking at the incredible star show. The only negative was that the ice machine was broken while we were there and there was no wifi. read more

You are paying an arm and a leg to be in walking distance to the trail head. Service at the hotel was great. We were celebrating our anniversary and they brought us a basket of snacks with a post card, congratulating us. The basket bought them an extra star in the rating. The rooms are not clean and the decor is very outdated. It's like an aesthetic slap in the face that they don't have to do anything in terms of upkeep because of their location. The bed covers are gross two star polyester brown 90's patterned junk. The sheets and pillows were super low quality. There was an orange substance splattered across the wall behind the mirror in our room that was never fully washed off the wall. The doors to the patio squeaked and the walls are thin so you can hear everything you neighbors do or say (ewww!). The hotel rooms are close to the road, so there is also road noise. See the separate review on the food. Save yourself some dough and get a room at the Best Western Grand Hotel. That place was AWESOME! read more

We stayed in a western cabin. It felt very rustic. It was a little cobwebby which I didn't like. Beds were really soft and lumpy, again, not my cup of tea. It was wonderful to be steps from the canyon rim. We popped out to see the night sky and it was amazing. We also got up early for sunrise which was lovely. There's no tv, no radio, no WiFi and no phone service. It was fine for us and I liked the feeling of not having a phone but my teens did mot! The staff were all young, which is not an issue in itself, but I found their customer service lacking. They were matte if fact and fairly unfriendly. It was all a bit "dirty dancing" if you know what I mean. I can imagine they cheer right up when over at the on-site staff accommodation! The lodge itself where the restaurant is located could do with an update and smelt strange. It was not a good smell. I'd recommend staying for the experience of being at the edge of the rim but I couldn't have coped with more than one night. read more
