My husband and I stayed at Stone Canyon Inn in a treehouse during the Labor Day weekend. Before we even got there, they emailed us directions, in anticipation that we wouldn't know where we were going. I appreciated the forethought. We drove up late Friday night and arrived around 11pm. The staff were gone, but we called ahead/wrote a note ahead of time, and they made accommodations for us to pick up our key. Checking in was as low drama as it gets. These examples made me feel that the level of service is good, even though we didn't interact with anyone. Sometimes it's the non verbal things that make a difference. Our treehouse was super cute. The living quarters were elevated and the lower level/floor level is an area where you can sit, have a bonfire, bbq using their grill, etc. Overall, it was in good condition. Just minor things like our screen door didn't really line up when closed. It seemed to be clean in areas that are often overlooked, but the shower had a lot of random stray hairs that were not mine. Also the water pressure is low. I'm not sure if that's by design or not... The room's features are pretty standard: Mini fridge, kitchen sink, small closet, king bed and a loft with two twins. The property is located just on the other side of Bryce Canyon. You can see the colorful canyon-top from the tree house. It's a very convenient 20 minute drive from the park entrance. It's remote and very quiet. It was truly beautiful and serene. There is a wash nearby that filled up due to some rain, but the next day it dried out. The wash does not affect access to the road or hotel, fortunately. There is a restaurant on site. It's decent. It's pricy. Service is on par with a higher end restaurant in the city, but the food flavors were slightly above average. Not sure if I'd go back to the restaurant. There's a town down the street that also has food and a store. read more

This is a copy of an email I sent SCI on 10/20/21. As I've had no reply, I thought this might help others considering a stay there. We really enjoyed staying at SCI recently (10/6-10/8). We especially enjoyed eating at the Stone Hearth Grill, which was more than just the best restaurant around - it was a truly excellent meal. One thing we wanted to point out. We stayed in the Guest House, which was great space-wise. We also loved the views in both directions from the upstairs bedroom. However, what we didn't understand from the website are the drawbacks of the fact that the Guest House is located in the front of the property. On our first night, the garbage collection truck came at around 6.45 am. Between the engine noise, beeping when backing-up and the chains being dragged to pick up the bins, it was really noisy and woke us from our sleep. It seems a stretch to charge the same rates for a room that can have so much disruption. At minimum, you should make this potential clear to guests, and perhaps recommend they opt for something further into the back of the property. One other minor point is that your website doesn't make some of these trade-offs very clear. Perhaps a site map would help? Having visited the property, I feel sure I would have opted for one of the Treehouses instead of the Guest House. Of course, I could have called in advance when I made the booking, so that one is on me! I can assure you that next time our travels take us past Bryce Canyon, SCI will be somewhere we choose to stay - and I'm already looking forward to the Treehouse experience! read more

Love love loved our cute bungalow at our stay here during our visit to Bryce Canyon!! Since my super outdoorsy husband booked this "room", I was a little scared of what to expect, especially since his idea of camping is a tent, no real bathroom, and no real shower. Not reeeeally my idea of fun. He also said I could not look this place up online. What?! I look up everything!! But I was good and actually didn't yelp this place or look at their website. So after a long drive from Salt Lake City, we finally arrived. You gotta drive thru a smaller residential area and even past a school to get here so it's fairly hidden (you can't see anything from the roads) yet very easy to find. We checked in around dinner time and this place also had a very nice dinner restaurant on the property that anyone can go to. There are not a whole lot of choices around and the restaurant parking lot was quite full. We found a stall for checking in and my husband went into the office to get our stay info. He came out shortly with a few papers and got back into the car to drive to our bungalow. We drive past a few cabins which are pretty darn nice so I'm feeling pretty good about where we were headed. We get to our bungalow and these are smaller than the cabins but it still looked like a nice size, esp for our little family of 3. I open the door and it is beautiful inside! In the main living area, there is a fire place, a couch, a nice tv, nice flooring, a toaster, a microwave, and a fridge! There is even a Murphy bed! Make your way to the bedroom and it is also beautiful! The bed is hanging from chains (but doesn't move, phew! My son would've had a field day with that if it did swing around lol!) and there is also a tv, and a little armoire with robes! So cute! The bathroom is connected to the bedroom and the sink is actually more in the bedroom area. The toilet and big tub (with a rain shower!!) are in the actual bathroom. Ooh and the bath products smelled soooooo good. Def loved our stay here. Wish we could've stayed longer! We didn't get to wear the cute robes! Ahhhh, I guess gotta save something for next time! read more

We were not able to get into our room and the hotel is very remote. No staff after 8:00pm and called the 2 different emergency lines multiple times with no answer and no voice mail on either one. left message on main line with no return call. In order to have a place to stay, needed to pay for a second room at a different hotel. I called the hotel almost daily for 2 weeks following. Manager was not in and I was promised over and over that they would call me back as soon as they returned. I have been waiting for that phone call for too long. Successful businesses have a foundation of integrity and customer service. this one does not!!! read more

Beautiful place!!! Workers and owners are amazing and very accommodating. Stayed in the cabin. Loved the jacuzzi. Love the whole setup! Very secluded. Cabins are up to date on decor. Owners Could Care Less I do not like supporting businesses that have little regard for their patrons. We, two couples, booked the Stone Canyon Inn on April 15th, 2022, for a two night stay from July 28 to 30. We live in Houston, Texas, and spend our summers in Utah. My wife and I invited our friends from Houston to join us to go to Bryce Canyon, and then on to Park City for a week. We had no intention on canceling our plans. Unfortunately, July 20th my husband and I both came down with Covid-19 testing Positive. As we are all in our eighties, we couldn't take the risk of our friends flying in to join us. I wanted to cancel our reservation and tried contacting the hotel, leaving messages on the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and finally on July 24th Amy returned my call. I was told by her "That everyone has an excuse for canceling their reservations" and that they would stick to their 14 day cancellation policy. I'm sorry, but I think that Covid-19 is a very different set of circumstances and should not to be taken lightly. Also we were really feeling ill. As we had prepaid our first night of accommodation back in April, I could understand that there would be no refund for that. Our friends had no problem receiving their refunds from their flights to Utah and reservations in Park City. I wrote to April Roberts, the owner, on August 4th and have never received a reply back. I followed up with and email and once again no response. Our friends also wrote with no reply. Since Stone Canyon Inn would not cancel our reservations we decided to go even though we were still positive with Covid. We were feeling a little bit better after going on to Paxlovid. We arrived to find what was described as cottages with views of Bryce Canyon. We believe it was less than described at booking. We received an email requesting that if we had any negative comments to make to please refer them to the hotel directly before posting, again NO REPLY. Riley and April Roberts could be a lot more responsive. Not what we expect from owners of a hotel. I think they need to learn from their counterparts in the business! You'll find this great little Inn tucked away from the main streets. On the way in we saw quite a few deer, a couple of bucks, and some jackrabbits. First we stopped at their restaurant for a delicious dinner. Then we drove up to our rooms. I think understated luxury is the best way to describe the bungalows. Upon entering you see the fireplace and the Murphy bed. There's also a small fridge and a decent sized tv. The bedroom has this great bed suspended from these cables. The bed doesn't move in the slightest though, so don't worry! My fave part was the bathroom! It's massive, heated, and the shower also doubles as a steam room. Warning: the steam nozzle is on the bottom of the largest shower wall. I decided to be a genius and turn on the steam and then sit on the shower floor and ended up burning my arm so you've been forewarned! We had a great night's sleep and didn't hear any of our neighbors in nearby bungalows. Only drawback was the sad bagel in a ziplock breakfast. Other than that, we absolutely loved this place! read more

We just had a wonderful stay in the #31 Tree House. The second story deck, with its breathtaking panoramic views and comfortable chairs and coffee table was our favorite feature. I guess most people stay in Bryce Canyon City, but we stayed just outside of Bryce in this little town called Tropic. It's about 20 minutes away from the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. Not much to this town, but it was cool. We stayed at the Stone Canyon Inn which is definitely an independent/small scale operation but we really enjoyed it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a two bedroom/two bath cabin with a full kitchen, gas fireplace, private hot tub, heated bathroom floors etc. It was well appointed and perfect for our needs. It's an international dark sky area, so the views of the stars from our hot tub were amazing. (You will appreciate the hot tub after these long days!) Also the onsite restaurant was one of the best meals we had all week. (See additional review). This was the quietest, most remote stay of our trip and was a nice reprieve after the large crowds at the parks. Would definitely stay there again. read more

This is a great spot to use as a base for hiking around Bryce Canyon. The only issues we had is the water pressure in the shower was non existent, the large bathtubs look great but poor positioning of the faucet in the center of the tub directly below the shower head make showering a bit uncomfortable, and the ice machine was out the entire time there. read more

Stayed here for one night a few weeks ago, while on a trip to Bryce Canyon. It is a really nice cabin to stay in, I actually wish I would have stayed a couple nights. However there were a couple flaws. Upon arriving we tried to connect to the WiFi- I was so pumped to finally have some free WiFi, instead of being charged for it at Vegas Hotels. Only problem is the router was down and needed reset. Finally, after calling the office twice, the router was reset and I was able to connect. The downside is the WiFi connection was terrible. It frequently dropped, or became very unresponsive. I mean it was taking a solid minute to loaded a simple webpage like www.google.com. At speeds like that, don't even mention WiFi...I just imagine some poor sap trying to do some work online during a holiday, and being SOL. The only other problem was with the hot tub. After a long day of hiking, i wanted nothing more than a relaxing dip in the hot tub. I was in the tub for about ten minutes when I started noticing my leg was really itchy, like painful itchy. My family members both decided to get out of the hot tub. When I asked them why, they both said they were feeling really sharp pinches/ itches all over their body. When I realized it wasn't just me, I hopped out as well. I'm not sure if the hotter was over-chlorinated or maybe the staff last minute added a bunch of Shock to the hot tub... but it definitely was not safe to be sitting in that water long. When we went inside, the rest of our family grimaced and told us we "reeked of chlorine." Had the WiFi been better and the hot tub usable- this joint would be a five star review. read more

We stayed here for4-nights. 2-nights in a treehouse and two in one of the newer duplex units. Both were very comfortable. The treehouse features a beautiful deck with a stunning view. The duplex has a nice patio also with a nice private view. We really enjoyed our stay here. The restaurant is excellent and would also recommend. read more

I wondered if this place had changed hands recently until I read other reviews with comments similar to ours. We have been to the restaurant on three previous visits. We liked the ambiance and intimacy, so we decided to stay at the Inn this year. Compared to previous visits, the staff seemed a bit less friendly and our deluxe room was nice but somewhat austere. For the premium paid above other properties in the area, you might expect minimal glassware and actual coffee mugs, and a spacious bathroom. All we found were two wine glasses that were too tall to get under the faucet in the sink, paper coffee cups, and the shower head in the small bathroom was about an eighth of an inch above my head. This is clean and nice enough, but not worthy of 5 stars in any location. read more

We stayed for a couple days in late December and had an amazing time. They Inn is very nice. We stayed in the Guest House which was equipped with a kitchen, jacuzzi tub, washer/dryer, bbq, wifi, flat screen, etc. Its just close enough to the park (~10-15m drive) while still being remote (in a good way). Very nice, comfortable accommodations. That all said, the best part was the service. Dixie and Mike take hospitality to a new level. Breakfast was amazing. Their insights into great hikes and viewpoints was super helpful. They were very kind to loan us snowshoes and yaktraks. And when we ran into car trouble, they were quick to help us troubleshoot and even offered to drive us back/forth into the park to make sure we had a great stay. They're very passionate about Bryce and go out of their way to make sure their guests enjoy it as they do. If ever we're back in Bryce, we'll definitely stay at the Stone Canyon Inn again. read more

We stayed here after driving all day and before heading to Bryce Canyon. There was not a single hotel room available in the neighbourhood when I checked online 2 months before arrival. This was our only option. I was 'forced' to book a cottage where up to 6 people can stay. Had our own private jaccuzi, BBQ, full kitchen, 1000 tv channels.... it's a cottage, you could live here. It was absolutely amazing and we felt sorry for only being here one night. The only reason I'm not giving a fifth star is cause it's extremely pricy. It was about 400$ for only one night! read more

If you are looking for a cozy place to stay in Bryce Canyon you have found it! With a lot of different housing options including cabins, rooms and tree houses, this Inn is suitable everyone! The four of us stayed in a cabin and it was a perfect size. With a king bed, a full bed and pull out couch everyone was happy. It was extremely clean and quiet. Throughout our stay everyone was very helpful and it allowed for a great experience. This Inn also offers numerous great views and it is closely located to the town of Tropic. Make sure to stop by Bryce Canyon Coffee and the Pizza Palace to make your trip compete!! read more

We stayed in cabin 14, it was wonderful. Very comfortable. Beds were excellent, very nicely furnished, hot tub was awesome. We made dinner in the kitchen, everything worked and they had all the utensils/ cookware/ dishes you would need. They really thought if everything. This place is quiet and tucked away, the cabins are distant enough for a bit of privacy. The location is gorgeous and we had red rock views from the hot tub and every room. The restaurant was closed for winter when we stayed here so I can't review that part, but we were lucky enough to get a bunch of snow and experience a true winter wonderland! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area, it was so nice and they provided every for a super relaxing stay. read more

I was hoping for a nice canyon experience. I did get that but I had to drive 8 miles to get there. Yes, out cabin was technically "steps from the canyon". But the actual canyon itself is miles away as is any activity. When I asked about tours, guides, etc., I was given very little guidance. I was pretty much told "Just go to Rudy's". No being from the area, I had to pry any bit of information to get anything useful. They could have mentions what tours left from where. Nothing was offered. Between our two days, the beds weren't made. It may have been part of the deal, but it wasn't even mentioned. In fact, other than to take our money, we never saw the proprietors once, not even to inquire as to our needs. Nice, but way overpriced, and not friendly and accommodating as well. I would never stay at this property. We had a week long trip planned and then came Coronavirus. We have an at-risk traveler in our party and had to cancel our trip. Every vendor was willing to refund us 100% without question EXCEPT April, the owner of this property. She did NOT care in the least. She informed us that she would keep our deposit and should we ever decide to come back it would be applied to our stay. We stayed in "cabin" - no, not rustic at all, but filled with lots of simple beauty, appropriate to the location. The dishes actually matched - as did the silverware. This was the perfect place for my family of 5, on our quick trip to Bryce. The cabins are a quick, scenic drive, about 15 minutes, to the entrance of the park. We brought food to make dinner and breakfast, and the Inn provided ALL of the utensils and cookware we needed. Even coffee and tea! The cabin was very clean and spacious. Hot tub worked great and was well heated when we arrived! The owner provided maps, as well as hikes, shopping and restaurant suggestions. I would recommend the Inn for anyone visiting Bryce with a group of 4-5. :) read more

We called over the phone to book a cabin with a FULL KiTCHEN for Thanksgiving, when calling we spoke to Amy and our first question was " Do you have any cabins available with a FULL KITCHEN?" She said yes and took my credit card information over the phone. When we get to the property we notice that it is not a full kitchen at all, small microwave and fridge is what was available. How were we supposed to cook Thanksgiving dinner there???? I called the front desk and told them I had asked for a room with a full kitchen their response was "they must've gave you what we had." It was late so decided to just stay and not have to look for another hotel that night. The next morning when we finally got a hold of Amy we expressed our frustration about our stay and she promised us a full refund. When I finally got a refund it was only for half of what I was charged. Super unprofessional establishment. I would definitely recommend staying somewhere else. read more

The place is quiet and we were able to see stars clearly at night. The bed is rather small and there was no Wifi despite the website said yes. We complained to the staff but we were told something wrong with our own phones! I have showed the guy that all my devices were not able to connect and he then went away without any response. This Inn is unbelievable. I didn't expect this at all, but we had our private own kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, for such a reasonable amount. And on top of the great service and cozy amenities, we had our very own hot tub. We only wish we could have stayed here longer. From their website, it seems as if the views are great and this hotel is extremely close to the park entrance. Truthfully we passed by at least 6 hotels on the drive over, and the view is only a glimpse of the canyon. We stayed in the lodge, not the hotel, which while it did have stainless steel appliances and nice interior, the hot tub didn't heat like it was supposed to, and the view off the patio wasn't nearly worth the price. read more

I stayed in one of the bungalows here, it was perfect for my husband and I and also had Murphy bed for if you have children with you. The bungalow is very well appointed and clean with a lot of natural light. I loved the soaker tub and rain shower. There is also a mini fridge and microwave in the living room area which is awesome since there is nowhere to eat in the area during the off season. read more

This B&B is fantastic! Yes, it's a bit further from the park entrance, but if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet stay while at Bryce Canyon, this is an excellent choice. We stayed in the main house and the room was charming, breakfast was excellent (served to you, not just a buffet) and you even get some entertaining poetry to start your morning with a chuckle. I especially recommend this B&B to couples traveling without children. Kids under 6 aren't allowed in the main house (but can stay in one of the cabins on the property) which we really appreciated. No offense to those with kids, but travel easily makes them tired, cranky, and loud. We wish this place could be cloned and also available at Zion! read more
