    The outside of our bungalow!
    Jen M.

Love love loved our cute bungalow at our stay here during our visit to Bryce Canyon!! Since my super outdoorsy husband booked this "room", I was a little scared of what to expect, especially since his idea of camping is a tent, no real bathroom, and no real shower. Not reeeeally my idea of fun. He also said I could not look this place up online. What?! I look up everything!! But I was good and actually didn't yelp this place or look at their website. So after a long drive from Salt Lake City, we finally arrived. You gotta drive thru a smaller residential area and even past a school to get here so it's fairly hidden (you can't see anything from the roads) yet very easy to find. We checked in around dinner time and this place also had a very nice dinner restaurant on the property that anyone can go to. There are not a whole lot of choices around and the restaurant parking lot was quite full. We found a stall for checking in and my husband went into the office to get our stay info. He came out shortly with a few papers and got back into the car to drive to our bungalow. We drive past a few cabins which are pretty darn nice so I'm feeling pretty good about where we were headed. We get to our bungalow and these are smaller than the cabins but it still looked like a nice size, esp for our little family of 3. I open the door and it is beautiful inside! In the main living area, there is a fire place, a couch, a nice tv, nice flooring, a toaster, a microwave, and a fridge! There is even a Murphy bed! Make your way to the bedroom and it is also beautiful! The bed is hanging from chains (but doesn't move, phew! My son would've had a field day with that if it did swing around lol!) and there is also a tv, and a little armoire with robes! So cute! The bathroom is connected to the bedroom and the sink is actually more in the bedroom area. The toilet and big tub (with a rain shower!!) are in the actual bathroom. Ooh and the bath products smelled soooooo good. Def loved our stay here. Wish we could've stayed longer! We didn't get to wear the cute robes! Ahhhh, I guess gotta save something for next time!

Beautiful place!!! Workers and owners are amazing and very accommodating. Stayed in the cabin. Loved the jacuzzi. Love the whole setup! Very secluded. Cabins are up to date on decor. Everything was super nice and clean! Wish we could have stayed longer but had an emergency. And they were very understanding!!! Thank you. Definitely will book again in the future

Owners Could Care Less I do not like supporting businesses that have little regard for their patrons. We, two couples, booked the Stone Canyon Inn on April 15th, 2022, for a two night stay from July 28 to 30. We live in Houston, Texas, and spend our summers in Utah. My wife and I invited our friends from Houston to join us to go to Bryce Canyon, and then on to Park City for a week. We had no intention on canceling our plans. Unfortunately, July 20th my husband and I both came down with Covid-19 testing Positive. As we are all in our eighties, we couldn't take the risk of our friends flying in to join us. I wanted to cancel our reservation and tried contacting the hotel, leaving messages on the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and finally on July 24th Amy returned my call. I was told by her "That everyone has an excuse for canceling their reservations" and that they would stick to their 14 day cancellation policy. I'm sorry, but I think that Covid-19 is a very different set of circumstances and should not to be taken lightly. Also we were really feeling ill. As we had prepaid our first night of accommodation back in April, I could understand that there would be no refund for that. Our friends had no problem receiving their refunds from their flights to Utah and reservations in Park City. I wrote to April Roberts, the owner, on August 4th and have never received a reply back. I followed up with and email and once again no response. Our friends also wrote with no reply. Since Stone Canyon Inn would not cancel our reservations we decided to go even though we were still positive with Covid. We were feeling a little bit better after going on to Paxlovid. We arrived to find what was described as cottages with views of Bryce Canyon. We believe it was less than described at booking. We received an email requesting that if we had any negative comments to make to please refer them to the hotel directly before posting, again NO REPLY. Riley and April Roberts could be a lot more responsive. Not what we expect from owners of a hotel. I think they need to learn from their counterparts in the business! Especially when we are all dealing with a worldwide pandemic. Disappointed Travelers

The bathroom fan made a horrible noise so the light was unusable. Host said there was nothing she could do. Door looked like someone tried to break it. There's no heat or air control in individual rooms so it got cold. Was this stay almost $250? No way. There is also a gas grill on the covered patio, right next to the private picnic table. And did I mention the rate is super reasonable? I only encountered one slight issue, and that was that the propane tank was empty. We didn't find this out until after I returned from picking up burger supplies from Tropic. I called the manager (really sweet lady), and she told us we could take the tank from cabin 1. That one was empty, too, so we ended up taking a tank from cabin 4. I let the lady know and the next day she picked up the empty tanks. Oh, and finding this place in the dark isn't the easiest. They could maybe put up a bigger sign, or have more lights.

We arrived to what appeared to be an abandoned home in the middle of a neighborhood about 20 minutes from the park. We called the three posted numbers to no response. Upon the fourth call, a man irritatedly picked up, asked if we were there, and told us to open the mail laying upside down on the ground on the side of the house, and hung up. There is no one on location. The Bed and Breakfast doesn't serve breakfast, citing Covid (though every other hotel we attended in Utah served it), and told us they left us some. We walked into a kitchen with crickets, dead bugs, moldy food, and empty containers. It was disgusting. The advertisement and pictures are nothing close to the establishments reality. The room's decor has either been removed or stolen, as there were just barren nails hanging out of the wall. There were stains on the carpet and no temperature control. The bathroom hardly fits one person and did not feel clean. There were no outdoor lights on, and we came back to a pitch black house with all the main doors unlocked. We cleaned the microwave before touching it to make dinner and rewashed all utensils and cups. This is where my husband and I stayed for one night. Leading up to our stay the communication was excellent. We were tolldd that we could park in the carport since our lodging would be in the "little blue house with a white patio just to the left of the carport." We had a passcode to get inside and noticed the updated amenities in the living room and bedroom area. The kitchen was something from yesterday - quite small and the freezer was unusable. (See picture.) The bed was VERY comfortable and won a full star, otherwise this review would have been one star. After we had unloaded, we wanted to get down to planning our next day's travel, so we fired up the laptop....and looked for a placard in the unit mentioning the Wi-Fi name or password. I called the owner and was told that he was out getting supplies, but he was able to send me the information via text, telling me 'Don't use the password we sent you in the email yesterday; it's wrong.' We tried on the laptop - nothing. We tried on the iPad - nothing. We tried on BOTH of our phones - NOTHING! For each of our attempts, we kept getting a message 'Unable to join network 'Bryce Point Internet.'" After 30 minutes of trying the password provided, along with other variations of what it could be, i.e., B and B, B&B, B & B, BnB, I called the owner back. He said he would send his cleaning person out to help since he wasn't in the area. When she first came in, she immediately said, "Oh yeah, I have trouble getting internet out here all the time when I am cleaning." She made several attempts, but the same error message came up. I asked her if the little blue house had its own router, and she said no. I asked where the router for Bryce Point Internet is, and she told me 'In the house.' With at least three other guest rooms, and a 30-foot distance across a driveway/carport to the little blue house, surely this was the problem - the signal was not strong enough to connect. I texted the owner but never heard back. We decided to move on and went to find something to eat. After dinner, I went into the main house to get an extra blanket. There was NO ONE to be found, anywhere. Frustrated, we called it a night. In the morning I went to take a shower. When I pulled the handle to start the flow of water, it came out the spigot as expected. When I went to pull the knob for the shower to engage - NOTHING. I turned it off, turned it on, and still the shower did not work. I called my husband in to help. He has 40 years of HVAC experience, and even he could not get the shower to work. I opted for a bath, and, when trying to get the stopper to work, we learned that it wasn't even attached. In our frustration, we decided to pack up and leave, foregoing the amazing breakfast that everyone raves about, for fear that that too would be a dismal disappointment. I did get a text after notifying the owner that we left. "Thank you for letting us know this information, we will be having our maintenance guy look at these issues today before our next guest comes through. Sorry for the inconvenience of the internet not working. This is the first we have heard about this; we will get a hold of our internet provider out there today as well. (Funny, that is not what the cleaning person mentioned to us.) It strikes me as odd that we never saw anyone 'managing' the property the whole time we were there. Many reviews talk about the hosts for this property, and we were kind of looking forward to that engagement, but instead were left with a sterile, fend-for-yourself atmosphere. There are MANY raving reviews about Happy Trails BnB, and that is what drew me to book this location. None of the reviews mention the little blue house, so I wonder if it is a newer addition and IMO not ready for customers yet.

Originally we tried to book the Lodge through the national park reservations system, but put this and a couple others as backups. Being that we only booked our trip about 3 weeks in advance, we got lucky with this place. We were a little tentative because of the reviews (thin walls, etc), but when we got here we were pleasantly satisfied. Has a very Campy feel to it; from the hexagon bench swing setup, to the mini bridges, the volleyball court, and the giant chess setup, it looks like a place we could stay a few days and just hang out without even going anywhere really. But I digress...we rather enjoyed our stay. There is a restaurant in the middle of the property where we had dinner one night. (Note, it can get pretty packed cuz looks like everyone eats there, esp with the live music going on, it's a good time). Check-in was easy, and even though the place is an old school cabin/lodge, they have new electronic keyfobs to get in and out of your room. Just don't forget it because the doors will automatically lock on you. We had to get a spare from the front desk once during our stay. The room was small, as to be expected; not much common space, just enough for your beds, luggage (not too much) and other small items. We kept most stuff in the car (You can park directly in front your cabin, space willing. There are separated cabins as well, but we didn't book far enough in advance. But we def paid a lot less than we would have at the Lodge or another place closer to the park. But again, it's like 11 minutes out, so not a big deal. The shower is a little small, but we made it work. We were able to sleep well, and though you can hear things, it wasn't not too bad and everyone seemed to be pretty respectful of each other and didn't cause too much noise. I did feel bad because I loaded the car up late at night and our car was facing the cabins directly and the headlights from our rental shone directly into one of the rooms, but I quickly turned them off and apologies and they were okay with it and understood. They also have RV spots and a couple were there during our stay, so it seemed fine for them as well.

I can't speak for the other rooms but we had a room in the house in the back of the property. The door that joins the adjacent unit has a large clearance at the bottom of it. When we checked in we had no neighbors and I just thought I hope we don't get any. We also had to sign a no cooking in our room agreement which I thought was odd. At around 8:30 our neighbors arrived, and we were greeted with the stinkiest cooking that filled our unit due to the large gap in the door. They did not speak English so we contacted management and informed them that they were cooking in the room. There were no other rooms available so we were out of luck and they did nothing to stop them from cooking. Our room stunk the entire night and made us all feel nauseous. The pillow was like a bag of cotton balls, extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom smelled. There was an air-conditioning unit, but it wasn't enough to cool the large room which was extremely hot. The restaurant on the property is great and fun with live music, but I would never stay at this hotel again. I got maybe two hours of sleep.
