I was a loyal patient to this office for a couple of years, until recently. I went there a few months ago for an infected tooth that needed to be extracted. I left there with an appointment to have a bridge installed instead, worth a few thousand dollars. The extraction would have been just under $200. I trusted that I was being steered in the best way medically. However, after the bridge was installed and waiting 2-3 months for the extraction, my appointment for the extraction was canceled the same day. I was told that after looking at my x-ray again, the dentist decided it was best to refer me to a different dentist. Why wasn't I told this when I showed up the first time? Why wasn't my infected tooth handled first?? To make matters worse, I don't even think the bridge was installed correctly. BUT I refuse to go back, they have completely lost my trust. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE! Though it has been a long while since I went here, it was one of the WORST experiences ever. Had to have a crown put in and my tooth worked on. The female "dentist" had no idea how to administer novocaine. I was given 6 shots (I was told by a REAL dentist that no more than 3 should have been given) When I asked her why it's not working, she told me that this was not her 'forte" I'm assuming that to be a dentist, one would have to know how to administer novocaine as basic dentistry. Needless to say, nothing was done that wasted day. When I came back and it was time to put the crown in, the crown was HUMONGOUS!!!! When I mentioned it to Dr. "I'm so full of myself that I had a doll made of me" Singh, he thought it was funny and said it wasn't that big. All they care about is money and how much they can botch up your dental work. And all of the help there are more concerned with their looks than helping patients. Take my advice. Get a bottle of whiskey, drink it, apply on your affected tooth, and do the work yourself. You'll do a better and more professional job than these clowns. read more

I don't get the negative reviews. I absolutely loved my experience at Happy Tooth...as much as someone can love a gum scaling, I guess. The vibe of the office is great. It's relaxing, clean, and hip. Dr. Singh took his time, made me feel comfortable, and did a great job. As did the hygienist the following visit. As for the staff, honestly, kindness and warmth isn't what I necessarily need from office staff, but they were polite and lovely to chat with. I dare say, I'm looking forward to my next visit. I had an appointment today.Regular dental cleaning .Substitute doctor without any warning started deep cleaning. She didn't use any pain medicine, and after I stopped her she showed me the plan which includes pain medicine.Almost 600 dollars. But is not about the money. She hurt me so badly .It was hard to drive home because of pain. I went as a new patient for a cleaning, got X rays and then an exam and what was to be a cleaning. I am a Doctor by trade and this was a terrible experience, the dentist reviewed his opinion of the x rays with me and barely examined me, think of an internist listening to you heart for about 2 beats. They advised me I need a deep cleaning and that I would not be able to have a regular cleaning. Which was fine at the time and I scheduled the cleaning but then my wife went two weeks later and had the same experience. You could do a better job cleaning your own teeth with a tooth brush, don't waste your time, find a real dentist read more

Had my first experience with Happy Tooth yesterday. Dr. Augustyn removed 9 upper teeth and placed a denture in before I went home. I was extremely nervous about my procedure and about being awake. The level of care and professionalism at Happy Tooth leaves nothing to be desired, it was truly a positive experience. I appreciated the level of professionalism I experienced with pain management. Dr. Augustyn made sure throughout my procedure that I was experiencing no pain and that I was comfortable. I went in feeling bad about the way my mouth looked, and left feeling great when I smiled. My kids have been going to Dr. Singh for seven years. We love Happy Tooth. There is an easy going vibe throughout the whole place and I think that's hard to pull off in a dentist office. The staff genuinely seems happy to see you and they all seem to really get along, which is nice to be around. Dr. Singh has a great rapport with my kids. My son was so anxious when he was young about his check ups. But now he is comfortable and doesn't complain about going. The receptionist and hygienists are wonderful too. Just came from our second visit with this office. As a mother of 5 and a dental assistant by trade, I can tell you this office is on point. Dr Sihgn is amazing his assistant Manny is the nicest person I have ever met. What an amazing team! My daughters also loved them. Kids can be difficult but this team won them over no problem! The office is spotless. I've lived in Elmhurst for 30 years it great to have such a great dental office locally. Reading the other review I can understand some of the reviews, 1. Yes there is a wait - if you don't have to wait for a Dr he's prob. Not very good! Lol 2. There is another Dr at this office. Due to insurance change I had to find a new dentist. I chose Happy Tooth because they were the only place near me that would take my new insurance. 1st visit was great. Very friendly staff and Dr A was very thorough with her explanation on what I needed done. Went in for my 1st deep cleaning that Dr A did and I could not eat for a week. Went in for the 2nd side and the Hygienist did a great job. On my return visit 3 months later the same Hygienist did my regular cleaning and said everything looked great. Went down hill from there. On my next return visit Dr A said I had gum disease and referred me to a specialist. "How can this happen in 3 months?", I asked and she told me that the Hygienist was wrong and that she disagreed with what she had told me 3 months earlier. I went to another dentist for a 2nd opinion and he told me my gums and teeth were just fine and they did not understand why Dr A told me that they weren't. I will not be returning to Happy Tooth because the trust there is gone. read more

The worst dental office I ever visited. Many dental staff are unprofessional. Dr. Maggie Augustyn seems to be agitated by everything. She does not communicate procedure(s) clearly. Not accurate(read aggresive) with her dental tools, which results in mouth cuts when drilling. Once left my mouth full of blood after cleaning. I had to rinse mouth in their bathroom with tap water. And how is it possible to complete cleaning in about 10 minutes? All other hygienists I visited in the past take at least 35+ minutes for average cleaning. The whole operation seems very rushed, not terribly professional, and NOT patient oriented. People, go find other dentists. I am out! read more

If I could leave a zero star rating I would. I had to find a new dentist after switching insurance and took my two kids to Happy Tooth for a new patient exam. Now, it's normal for one or the other of them to need about one filling a year. These people examined my children and decided they needed an asinine amount of dental work. Fillings in every other tooth, root canals, gold caps, sedated deep tissue cleaning for gum disease, the works. It was quoted at $5,000 AFTER insurance paid its portion! As you might imagine, I walked out in a state of shocked disbelief and sought a second opinion. The second dentist took more X-rays and sat me down to show me all the images and showed me where there were cavities and where there weren't. Then I told him I was there for a second opinion and showed him the first dentists treatment plan. He was also in shocked disbelief. Long story short, most of the work planned by the first dentist was not needed. In fact one kid just needed a quick cleaning and was done. I'm so mad about this that I can hardly see straight. How many other people have had their teeth drilled into or pulled for no reason other reason than to make a buck. I'm currently researching how to lodge some sort of complaint. In my opinion this place needs to be investigated. read more

Worst customer service experience I've ever had from a dental office! I tried to make an appointment and the girl on the phone was rude, unaccommodating, and hung up on me! When I called Dr. Singh back directly, he was of no help, and actually told me to go elsewhere! I will, and I advise anybody reading this to do the same. Besides invisalign, Dr. Augustyn could care less about my molar pain, she nonchalantly handed me a referral for a surgeon, and when I went they told me they don't accept my insurance and have told Dr. Augustyn countless times that they don't accept it!!! If I could rate this negative stars I would. I was treated by Dr Singh last year. I went there for a cleaning and ended up having half of my teeth drilled into for no reason. Nothing was bothering me prior, but Dr Singh decided that he should take care of it now to avoid any issues later. I had heat/cold sensitivity for 6 months after. I called the office and was assured that it is 'normal'. The cleaning that he did was a joke...it was more of a thorough floss performed by the assistant mainly. It took less than 5 min. All the fillings he did I had to replace after less than a year, because they weren't sealed right. No wonder I had pain and sensitivity for so long. He rushed through the entire procedure. Felt like was working on multiple patients at the same time because he kept leaving the office every few minutes. Horrible experience...on top of it they made an appointment for me for 6 months after my last visit that I didn't know about, and then started sending me bills for a missed appointment that I didn't make. This guy performs poor work you don't need, to charge you and the insurance. Please do yourself a huge favor and find an honest hardworking dentist that wont lie and deceive you and perform quality work. read more

My first experience with this office was scary but I decided to try again with another dentist, Dr. Singh. He filled a small cavity in a very important back tooth. Important because my partial hooks on to it. Two weeks later, I am on antibiotics for an infection. I thought he filled it rather quickly and after some research, I believe that it was not done correctly. Now he is talking about ng, root canal and caps, if the antibiotic doesn't work. I think they are a bunch of crooks and don't plan on returning. In fact I want my money back so I can have the tooth refilled properly at a REAL dentist as soon as this infection subsides. read more

Ok this review is about two weeks late! I love Dr. Augustin and Happy Tooth! I did read the reviews before I went to my first appointment and I will say by what was said I was very nervous about going. But it being very close to work I gave it a try. During my first visit I was waiting and expecting some one to be rude to me or to hurt me while checking out my teeth, but up until the moment I walked out the door everyone was super nice to me! I'm not sure if they hired a new staff but I thought the staff was great! The most important person to me would be the dentist. I'm 28 yr old and I have put off going to the dentist for 3 years because I'm deathly afraid. The only reason I decided to go in was because I cracked a tooth and the filling came out. And I'm kind of happy it did! I never thought I would like the dentist but after meeting Dr. Augustin I felt SO COMFORTABLE sitting in her chair. She is very patient and speaks in a rather soothing tone. The work she did on me was great! I wasn't even in any pain after my visit. She and her staff have really really impressed me. I'm sad that others claim to not have had the same experience as I. Yes I have been bragging about happy tooth to my friends. I'm actually looking forward to my next visit in September! I had a crown placed and preliminary work on a tooth that needs a crown as well. The atmosphere is always warm. It is obvious that the team works well together. Dr. Singh is my favorite dentist. He is always gentle, non-judgmental, and pleasant. I am deathly afraid of pain due to a prior terrible experience at another dentist's office, but I never have to worry about pain with Dr. Singh. He always makes sure I am as comfortable as I can be (given my constant anxiety about dentists). Elisa and Gabby (assistants) and Stephanie (billing) are wonderful as well. I had my appointment today and felt the need to write this when I got home... that is how happy I am with the service and help I was provided. Unbelievably helpful, Dr. Augustyn got me a next day appointment, helped me get appointments before my insurance expires to finish up my dental work (a few things have to be done and require a couple appointments) and it expires in 6 days. She was very clear with how much things would cost and saved me a ton of money and because she was able to get me in so fast I'm saving money through my insurance while I still have it. The hygienist was also very thorough with how I need to take care of my teeth, what products to use, and was gentle on my teeth/gums. It's my fault for putting off dental work for so long and I cannot be more grateful for how much she helped me today. read more

I had a GREAT experience at Happy Tooth all the staff here is great. Dr. Augustyn had done a recent procedure on me and she talked me through it and also kept me involved through out the whole procedure to me sure I was ok, they were very polite and made sure to answer any of my questions that I may have had. She was gentle. Also her assistant was great with her prepping me for the procedure to make sure I was ready. I will definitely go back to see her for my next appointment. read more

After my experience today i would give this place a zero if i could.. now i am going to be as professional as i can be while writing this. My daughter who is 5 years old had an appt today to have two cavities filled...now this is a scary thing for an adult even more so for a child. She went there initially 3 months ago and thats when they found out she had the cavities, we had great service then. Well today she went in and as they were prepping to get the novocaine ready my daughter of course was scared... well the woman dentist dont know her name and dont care to know it decides to tell me we cant do this and didnt they tell you she needed to see a pediatric dentist!? Excuse me you are the one who told me to schedule the appt three months ago. I am beyond pissed off at the treatment of my daughter at this place. If you have kids please dont take them here especially if they are young and need fillings apparently the dentists here are idiots and dont have children of their own. The DAs are great but the dentist sucks! Run fast if you have kids..needless to say i will not be coming back to this place and encourage those with younger kids to avoid this place as well.
