Update: Sep19 2022 Summary:…read moreI rarely write online review... Unless there is something exceptional.. Just get back today from a quick root canal follow up visit with Dr. Burgener @ Wheaton office ... Couldn't be more happier with the result of root canal.( All the issues with tooth were fixed in just one previous visit ) ************************************************************ Below more details: ( For patients whoever want to know more) The Situation with my tooth was complicated (before root canal).. During the first visit , Dr. Burgener immediately point out there was serious Periodental Pocket around the tooth..If it is left untreated.. The tooth probably can not be saved eventually (even after root canal)... From that moment , I realize why she become Excellent Surgeon..(Looking at the root causes of a issue, foresee all other problem in the mouth that will cause future root canal failure...) Gum issues/ Disease is a different function(Periodentist) I was expecting her to say " After Root canal.. Suggest to see Periodentist) But she never say anything like that... To my surprise, As a talented Endodontist, She come up with a creative solution( Special filling with medication to cover the gum area).. So here I am , Within 2 Weeks after root canal.. My Gum @ that Problem tooth area come back( almost fully recovered) As we all know, Periodental pockets / Disease are difficult to treat...and very very slow recovery.. or in certain cases.. Can not be reversed at all. I feel I owe Dr Burgener a Big "Thank you".. She fix both the tooth problem( Root canal) and Periodental issue( Gum Pocket) in one visit for root canal. She is doing extra work( not her function at all) and don't even mention about it...( My original thought was I might need Periodental surgery or at least root scaling and planing with a Periodentist) Really appreciated for her Kindness. ************************************************************* BTW. One of my friend check on me lately and ask me how I am doing after root canal.. During the conversation , We find out we are seeing the same Endodontist(Dr Burgener) I was thrilled to know she drive all the way to Hinsdale ( That is a one hour drive for her..) to see Dr Burgener two years ago for a front tooth root canal.. The minute the two of us find out we are seeing the same doctor. Both of us smiled with a big relief... as we know we are in good hands and get top notch Endodontic care. My friend also give Dr. Burgener Thumbs up.

This review is based on many years of experience. They did a good job giving me different options for treatment -- both what my general dentist recommended and alternatives. For example, while my general dentist thought a tooth could not be saved, the apicoectomy performed by Dr. Wong was able to avoid extraction. Both did a good job explaining my situation in a direct manner. Dr. Wong has a big personality but he backs it up with professional work. They provide insurance and out of pocket estimates so you know what you'll pay for different options.

This review is based on my two experiences. My first experience with Dr Jukas was great…read more Unfortunately my 2nd experience w Dr Wong was not. Due timing and pain I took the first avail appointment with Dr Wong. I waited one hr for my appointment to start. I could hear Dr Wong w his other patient talking. Sounded like he Spend more time talking about his Telsa, cars, etc versus patient treatment. Which is fine if that patient was ok with. But I am sitting in the next room still waiting for my consult which is already one hour late. Dr. Wong didn't acknowledge or apologize for the long wait. Without looking at my mouth, a 2 sec look at the X-ray rambled a lot of confusing information. He spent more time on making notice of how my hair was done, looking at my shoes, ear rings etc, which became uncomfortable. Dr. Wong was very arrogant, and what he claims is his ice breaker was to ask about my nationality.... He questioned my last name and asked if I was sure my last name was from the ethinicity. Than he questioned if i was married. My nationality is and was irrelevant to the purpose of my visit. He clearly has not had any DEI training. Dr Wong didnt believe his ice breaker is/was culturally insensitive and told me that I was sensitive and he would make note of it. Dr Wong than went to use a common foods in my culture as an analogy to describe my issue. Dr Wong was all over the place explaining the treatment place, bc in the middle of his explaination he kept making comments about my look... which he justified as being "observant". He should be more observant in the care he provides not a persons looks including the items they are wearing. His front desk couldn't explain the itemize bill or what they call care plan Dr Wong was ready to take my tooth out that minute bc they said he was quick and had an opening. They could clearly see I was confused by what was going on. I declined to take action bc I needed to consult my dentist bc I was surprised by Dr Wong saying I had a bacteria eating away at my bone. After thinking over and waiting for the email plan, I called back for an appointment w Dr Jurkas as a 2nd opinion since I had a good and educational experience for my first root canal. I clearly remember Dr J saying why try to save the tooth first. To my surprise Dr Wong called me bc they shared w him that I was not happy w my experience w him and wanted a 2nd opinion. I brought to Dr Wong's attention the above concerns I did not like. Dr Wong was condescending by responding some ppl are slow to understand. I stopped him there and again brought to his attention his rude and unprofessional response. During our call when I brought to his attention the insensitivity of my culture he thought it was ok bc he had a lot of friend in the "x" culture. I than brought to his attention that is not my culture... He clearly was looking at my file picture and again made and assumption. He didn't catch it on his own that he was associating me w another culture when i was telling him what my culture was. Dr Wong was very arrogant and rude to say Dr Jurkas was not going to be able to do the work I needed and that he works under him. Dr Wong response was a narcissist response. I decided to end the call by saying I need To take my services somewhere else. I asked for the email w the recap if his consult I still hadn't received it. 10 min later Dr Wong called me back I sent him to voicemail bc I was working. To my surprise I get a unprofessional text message saying... "I know you are screening calls."To close the loop I acknowledge the email being received: I thought we were done...No he calls me again... now this was starting to be harassment. I picked up the call and just listen to Dr Wong ramble... "I can give you recommendations for a new consultative exam. " Than he started to explain to me what should've happen day one. The worse, worse experience by one Dr Wong. Which is unfortunate bc my experience w Dr J was pleasant. Dr Wong clearly wanted my money versus helping understand what is in my best oral interest

I went to Oakbrook Endodontic yesterday to see what could be done. They took a number of X-rays of the problem tooth & decided it was worth saving. Thank God The last thing I want to do is be a toothless wonder. Dr Penesis does an awesome job. He explained what need to be done to salvage the tooth and proceeded with the root canal after reviewing the x-rays. He's very through and has very good people skills. They anesthetized the area & proceeded with the work. They put a rubber block in my mouth to hold it open in the position needed to perform the work laid the chair back and proceeded. I was so relaxed as Dr Penesis and his assistant worked on my mouth I fell asleep. When I woke up they were finished. Talk about streamlined no muss, no fuss and viola completed. I am terrified of dentists! Well, perhaps not terrified!…read moreBut, I generally don't like them...and don't find the experience at all pleasant! Of course, have had a few bad experiences, and yes, not all dentists are a one size fits all! I realize this! But, tossing cash at re-occuring problems and spinning your wheels, would be enough to frustrate even the most loyal patient! Took me a few years to build that trust back enough to go searching out another. Have been to a few, was not looking forward to the selection process again! But, didn't have much of a choice thanks to a dental emergency that needed some attention! Forced my procrastinating butt! When looking, I jumped on Yelp...always a trusted place to do some research. Much better then doing eeny meeny miny mo from huge lists of dentists in the area!! Chose Dr. Fong based on the previous Yelper's review. Heard gentle, thorough, in the area...and look and no pain! Had my attention! Have been to Dr. Fong's office a few times now for work, and have to agree with all of the above. He is very professional, yet not stuffy...upfront, informative and does not pressure decisions you make. He has very gentle and sturdy hands and the work I've had done was as pleasant as it can get - for being at a dentist! Can actually feel myself relaxing after a few minutes! Which is usually unheard of for me! ~ His staff is warm and friendly. Costs are very reasonable, and they're very upfront with what to expect...which I find very helpful when it comes to budgeting costs. Because lets face it, dental work is not cheap! Good honest people who do good honest work. And really, that's what good business is all about!

This review is a little late, but here it goes:…read more Around Thanksgiving I had noticed that a 6 yr. old crown was becoming discolored at the base, near my gum line. Subsequently I was experiencing some slight pain deep within tooth, noticeable every once in awhile. Due to a the occasional pain, my dentist suggested I visit the Endo and get their expert opinion before he put a brand new crown on a tooth; a tooth that possibly needed another root canal. My dentist gave me a referral to Park Ridge Endodontics I easily made an appointment at PR Endodontics. I arrived at my first appointment with my referral slip . Dr. C. asked me what was going on, examined the tooth and performed some tests, as well as more in-depth X-rays; X-rays my dentist couldn't provide. She did notice an area deep in my canal that needed to be retreated. She gave me several treatment options (pulling the tooth, leaving the tooth alone and doing nothing or root canal therapy). I chose the option that allowed me to keep my tooth intact. I made another appointment so that I could return for the root canal procedure several weeks later. Dr. C. cleaned and retreated my problem area and I was in and out of the office in no time. My tooth has been perfect ever since my visit with her. She was very kind, smart and explained what she was doing during the procedure. My treatment was taken care of in one visit and I was able to return to my general dentist for a new crown several weeks after. All my visits were done between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I really appreciated that. I was blessed with great dental coverage, so what I paid out-of-pocket was nominal in my opinion. I appreciated the reminder text messages about upcoming appointments. Super clean treatment areas and an inviting reception area. Friendly office staff. They answered my insurance questions with no trouble. Saturday hours! I've since moved away from the NW 'burbs, but I highly recommend PR Endodontics to family and friends still in the area.

The bridge was old and vulnerable, I was worried and asked Dr Gilbert if he could do the root canal surgery by going through my gum instead of the teeth in the bridge.
