Personally I plan on continuing my dental health plan that Doctor Patel and staff have created especially for me. Horrible place. Went in and got work done last year. Follow up, need 3 extractions. They quoted me $6000 to fix one tooth with an implant. Said I didn't want that. The doctor said he doesn't do extractions. Made me wait one month to get 3 rotten teeth out of my month THEN the day of I am nervous. Doctor took one look at me after rubbing the numbing stuff on my gums and saw I was crying and said he would not do my extractions. (I had called earlier that week to get something for anxiety, they declined). That I was "too anxious" when the doctor took all of two seconds to talk to me and refused to help my painful mouth. Now I am in pain with wasted days off for my recovery. This place is garbage. The dentist doesn't even do extractions. This clearly isn't the first time either from past reviews. Dr. Patel, you couldn't even explain why you could not go forward with this. Shame on you. read more

I had been going here for a couple of years for routine dentistry, and it was fine. Nothing to write home about, but good enough. I had a small space between my front teeth that was bothering me, and Dr. Patel kept insisting Invisalign was the only way to fix it. I finally agreed, and was told I had to do both top and bottom in order to correct the top. Fine. Went in for my first set of trays and was told to come back in a couple of weeks for the "attachments." I had no idea what this meant as it was never discussed with me. (In fact, there was never a consultation or discussion of treatment plan.) So two weeks later, I return, and the hygienist (who is nice enough, but kind of uncomfortable) explains they are going to be cementing these attachments to my teeth...ok...he begins cementing these things to my teeth. Not what I was expecting but I am keeping an open mind at this point. At one point, he shines the blue light curing wand directly in my eye, causing me to flinch, turn my head, and say "OW! You shined that right in my eye." To which he hurriedly responded, "I know. Hold still." He finally finishes them (after several failed attempts to do it correctly), and I now have small white "buttons" on my teeth. The front desk attendant then told me the doctor would be in "to do the IPR." Not familiar with this term, I Google it, and discover it is a procedure by which they shave the sides of your teeth to "slenderize" them. Evidently a common procedure to address overcrowding in adult patients, but again, never discussed with me. So when the doctor comes in, accompanied by his front desk attendant, they both insist it's "no big deal," and I "won't even notice it," and he's done it "thousands of times, even on his daughter." They begin what was a very shocking and distressing procedure of shaving between my teeth with a mechanical saw and a tiny little hand saw. I was able to get through two of them before I finally listened to my gut and asked them to stop. At this point, they became pushy and argumentative (especially the front desk attendant, who is quite unprofessional). They acted incredulous that I wanted informed consent (which is by the way their legal obligation to provide) to a procedure that was permanently altering my teeth. As if I was somehow being ridiculous for not allowing them to shave my teeth without question. I asked some clarifying questions about the treatment plan, which again, should have been discussed with me at any point prior to this. Their pushiness continued and I felt the need to ask them to remove the attachments from my teeth. At this point, the front desk attendant stormed out of the room. I told Dr. Patel that her pushiness and lack of professionalism was only convincing me further that I didn't want to continue this treatment with them. He did his best to smooth things over while he grinded the cement off my teeth. It's been a week, and my teeth feel rough, so I went to a different doctor for a second opinion. He told me that my orthodontia case is "too complex" for a regular Dentist to handle, and would need to be addressed by an Orthodontist. He explained that while IPR (teeth-shaving, for Laypeople), is occasionally the only way to fix overcrowding in adults, it is not always required and can sometimes have severe consequences for people with complexities such as mine. I asked if he could remove the remainder of the cement from my teeth to fix the rough feeling, and he said he was not comfortable grinding my teeth any further as it could damage the enamel. He also explained the rough feeling could be from enamel already damaged by Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel still has all of my Invisalign hardware, which I have paid for nearly in full. I doubt my new Orthodontist will want to pick up where he "left off" with the technology, so I'm considering just cutting the loss and moving on before this guy has any further opportunity to mess up my teeth. read more

My son had his 4 wisdom extracted at Lisle Advanced Dental on Saturday December 10th. They don't sedate patients, even though on their website they claim they do. I spoke with the receptionist and we created a treatment plan for him to take a muscle relaxer (prior), nitrous oxide and of course Novocain. Even though Dr. Patel doesn't perform the extractions, he came out several times to let us know a few of his teeth were difficult to extract but my son was fine and wasn't in any pain. The entire time I assumed he was given gas to help him relax, but he wasn't, nor did they offer it to him, even though it was part of the treatment plan. After we left he said he felt a good portion of the extraction, cutting/pulling into his gums and the ice cold blast of air sprayed on his nerves. Not even the Novocain was administered correctly, just a quick thrust of the plunger....and obviously not enough because he was in constant pain throughout the entire procedure. He kept telling the doctor he was in pain but they were unable to manage his pain properly. Upon leaving, I was handed a post-op instruction sheet and a phone number to call with any issues over the weekend. He was given ibuprofen, I asked for a stronger pain medication and we were told no, but to call if the pain worsened and they would call in a script for pain meds. My husband and I left numerous messages/texts on Saturday and Sunday because of pain and excessive bleeding my son was experiencing. Even after all of the messages/texts sent, Dr. Patel/Staff did not return any texts/calls to check up on my son. Even though it was indicated when left on Saturday just to call the number with any issues/questions. Only on Monday morning, I got a text from the receptionist saying I could pick up a script for pain medication. I went into the office, Dr. Patel and 'Staff', showed no concern or sympathy, not even an apology and were argumentative. Didn't even ask how my son was feeling. They did not offer a reasonable explanation of why the nitrous oxide was NOT administered as originally planned, and even when my son was complaining about the pain during the whole procedure. Also, Dr. Patel said we should have called 911 about the pain, as "he isn't available on weekends after his office closes' "and as the receptionist said "we have a life outside of work." It's unfortunate the lack of after-care and compassion Dr. Patel and his staff have for their patients. Dr. Patel continued to say they won't give pain medication if there isn't an infection, even after major oral surgery. read more

Normal dental experience. The staff was nice, dental tech super friendly and efficient in getting the process started. I was hesitant after previous reviews, but honestly Dr. Patel told me nothing more than I already knew as for my dental needs. Oh, and to floss more! I dinged a star because when requesting electronic copies of forms and x-rays, there were unexplainable reasons as to why I could not receive these. read more

I called my insurance to find nearby providers that were covered. I had The exact name for the dentist I wanted to see because my insurance only covered in-network providers. When I showed up for my appointment with the dentist I had requested, they told me that they were not in and they would have somebody else do my exam. I asked them to make sure it was only someone who is with my insurance and they said yes. I called my insurance later to find out they gave me the ONE dentist at that location who didn't take my insurance. Don't get me wrong, everyone is nice and they seem to care but the dentist I had..left me feeling uneasy. I needed a filling fix (it broke again later) Now I loved how quick and easy the appointment was but he kept rambling on about braces and Invisalign possiblities for me. I've never needed braces before, it was probably the four wisdom teeth trying to shove their way through. (Which was! After I went else where to fix the filling they took a lot and recommend a great oral surgeon) My boyfriend got his wisdom teeth done her and they were so nice to those stuck waiting attentive and sweet. Staff is really nice, the second time was to get work done on one of my teeth that was bothering me. They took more X-rays and asked when I wanted to work on the tooth.. don't you make the appointment so that day you go in they work on that tooth? You would think. Then they started talking about working on a certain tooth that I wasn't even talking about and I had a correct them and said that's not why I came in and said it was for one of the other teeth and how much it was bothering me. He looked at the X-ray and said oh well there's nothing there maybe it's a gum problem? You're a dentist! Wouldn't you know if my gums looked unhealthy or anything! Unbelievable. Then when I was leaving the receptionist said for your next appointment call before to tell us if you want work done on your teeth.. why else would I make an appointment if I've already seen you it's not to say hello.. maybe goodbye read more

Dr. Patel is very nice and good at what he does. I like to tell people he rebuilt my mouth because he basically did. If your nervous or uncomfortable about going to the dentist, he's your man. Anxiety or nervousness can be checked at the door. I also feel like he's in it to make me feel good and not just for the money, I know a lot of people have concerns that dentists, who try to sell you stuff you could do without, but Dr. Patel isn't that guy. I've been seeing him for over 5 years and can't imagine ever switching. He has an excellent chair side manner and works very quickly, especially when it's a less than comfortable procedure, and that keeps he his well taken care of happy patient. read more

Avoid, go to a reputable dentist who doesn't try to sell you everything under the sun. My appointment lasted over THREE HOURS and I was just there to get a cleaning. The X-rays were painful and took many attempts to get a good picture because the tech was new and on his own. After going over my insurance with the assistant she assured me my cleaning would only cost me $120 and that my insurance would cover the rest, I paid $60 at the end of the THREE HOUR appointment. A few days later, I received a bill from my insurance company for $267 and a bill from advanced lisle dental for $168. This is a bait and switch scam, do not make an appointment here. read more

When I started seeing Dr. Patel, I had been accustomed to the mechanical tendencies that are dentist offices. Dr. Patel really set himself apart from my previous dentists with one simple sentence, "What are your dental goals?" To many it may seem trivial, but it is one question I had honestly never been asked. Typically, I would go to the dentist for my twice year cleaning with little other conversations to be had with my dentist or dental assistants. From that moment, Dr. Patel had set himself apart. He took the time to listen to me and to create a plan to achieve these goals. He thoroughly explained the process as well as the costs and carefully answered all of my questions. I have no dental insurance and i bought $49 Grouon for teeth cleaning ,X -Ray and exam.I went there last week,the place is very nice and clean.I need to input my info with their Ipad. They X-Ray my teeth and told me that one of my top front teeth has infection and need root canal and crown and one front teeth get cavity.I was begging to get a good price because i have no dental insurance.They told me the root canal cost $2800 and the crown with special price is $999.The bad part was they told me that the tiny cavity cost $1300.It took only 2 minutes for Dr Patel to clean my teeth because he only clean 2-3 teeth not all teeth like another dentists . May be the Groupon is cheap that why i got cheap quality of work.I went to second opinion yesterday.He fixed my front teeth cavity only $100 and did my first time root canal for $600 and he told me that i no need crown at this time. read more

Dr almost hit me in the parking lot flying across the parking spots. Front desk member was not friendly and seemed annoyed. Staff in back was friendly. Dr seemed to be running behind (maybe that's why he flying thru the parking lot), took over hour to be seen with one other person in office. Dr asked me where I had went for my Invaslign and then proceed to tell me stores of that dentist and how he had a client who wasn't happy with him and his work, etc!! Felt it was odd and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Especially since I've had nothing but great experience with this dentist. I had only seeked out this Dental Office because I needed an Implant which current dentist couldn't do. Now all this I would've just not come back but was tired of looking for quotes when all were about the same $3000 price. Icing on the cake was when they call me 1.5 days before my appointment to tell me they never sent the trey out because I had a balance. I have an HSA and I explained that and every 2 weeks I get a deposit. They NEVER even called me and explained this, had they done so I would've paid the $140 that was still due because that next visit was going to be all out of my own pocket!!! They lady told me she would have another girl call me back because she was not the one who made the notes on the account... well no one called me back!! ID AVOID THIS PLACE!!! After visiting this dentist, I would recommend going to another nearby dentist if your goal is simply a healthy mouth (vs. having cosmetic / vanity services performed by a questionably ethical DDS). From the Invisiline promotional video in the lobby to the tactics used by the attending DDS Hatel Patel, this is an establishment looking to build a large invoice for the customer through "upselling." This dentist has no positive online reviews and no customer testimonials on his website. (Side note: after visiting this dentist I found 2 great dentists nearby with many positive testimonials--Lisle Dental Center and Meda Dental.) Here is an account of my time being a customer at this business : 1. Nicole and Savannah, the dental assistants, were polite, humorous and good conversationalists. Setting up my appointment was simple. They accommodated moving the appointment after Über failed to pick me up on time. 2. My primary dentist takes 40 minutes to clean and do X Rays. This dentist took 80 minutes. 3. After the x Rays and photos were taken of my mouth, Hetal Patel DDS viewed the images with me and an assistant. He sounded very concerned. He used pregnant pauses and under the breath "hmmmm" sounds as we all studied the x Rays and photos together. He asked me, "do you see the problems here." My answer was "no" because my primary dentist always has positive things to say about my teeth and gums. I have been to dentists many times and I have never been asked to interpret an x-Ray or a dental photo-i view this as a way for a dentist to engage in the court equivalent of "witness tampering" to get the (non-discerning) client to affirm "I see a problem." 4. Dr. Patel said, "it is clear you do not floss frequently enough." Interestingly, I had already told his assistants before he came in that I have not missed a day of flossing in over 6 months, and I regularly flossed 3x a for years before that. He also said "it is clear you do not get teeth cleanings." This is also an example of Hatel Patel DDS not using impeccable words and truth-I checked my records after this visit and i last had my teeth cleaned 13 months ago and before that regularly every 8-12 months by a dentist who has been in business since 1975 5. At this point I explained to dentist Hatel Patel that I did not believe he used impeccable words and truth to run his practice. He yelled something about "get him to sign the extended liability release form before I clean his teeth." Having this angry dentist clean was my teeth was enough to give me terrifying flashbacks of a torture scene in the movie "Marathon Man" where holes are drilled in Dustin Hoffman's teeth by an evil villain. Overall Synopsis: "Advanced Lisle Dental is a firm specializing in using 'witness tampering' tactics, fear, obligation and guilt as tools to coerce clients in to becoming submissive, 'no questions asked', high dollar spenders for nourishment of Dr. Patel's ego and bank account." read more

I've been here a few times. It was close to my house at the time so I kept giving them business. The assistants and staff are pleasant and friendly. Dr. Patel was alright. He continually tried to sell me products that I was not interested in. It made me feel like he was just looking for a sale. He kept pushing products like Invisalign which insurance doesn't cover. He quoted me over $2,000. Sorry, no thanks. That was just annoying to say no time and time and time again. The last straw for me, that wasn't worth going anymore, was when I was contacted to reschedule an appointment that I scheduled 6 months in advance. They called me a week before the appointment and asked to reschedule. Very inconvenient. Give me more of a heads up next time. I told them that I would contact back for a new appointment. After leaving two voicemails and receiving no response or attempt to keep my business, I am happily no longer a patient. The only reason this place gets any sort of positive review is because of the friendly staff that I met, not Dr. Patel. read more

I rarely give reviews on anything but I had to review this practice. I'm not too fond of going to the Dentist but after 16 Yrs of avoiding I knew it was time. The staff was very friendly so I did not feel uncomfortable. Dr. Patel was speaking to someone behind the desk, off to the side, when I entered but he made a point to acknowledge me before he finished his conversation. Did not expect that since most Doctors that I encounter barley look up from their clip board when their right in front of you. The wait was not long at all. I pretty much filled out my paper work and was almost immediately taken to a room. The Dental assistant that I had was the best at explaining everything that I needed to know about what was going to happen during my visit. (I am so sorry I can not remember your name:-( ) The Dental Hygienist was great. She was very thorough, patient and upbeat even though it was close to quitting time. As for Dr. Patel I can not say enough great things about him. He explained to me all of my options. Gave me his opinion but was not pushy about it. I was able to make my own decisions without feeling coerced into one. I was not made to feel guilt or shame for waiting so long to see a Dentist. Dr. Patel was friendly and a bit of a comedian which was great because if I had anymore doubts or fears they were all washed away by the great experience that I had with Dr. Patel and his wonderful staff. read more

Looking for a new dentist? Advanced lisle dental would be a great switch. I went in with a Groupon for a cleaning, exam, xrays and whitening. And found out I had cavities in the process. Dr. Patel was super funny, and made the experience easy. He went in, got out. It was a very painless process. His staff are nothing but helpful and incredibly nice. The facility itself is beautiful, as they are a newer facility, the 45 teeth whitening process went by quickly as they provide a Netflix movie for you the whole time. Constantly check on you if you need anything, and make you feel a priority when you are there the whole time. Doctor Patel is a doctor that puts you first as a patient. He is very trustworthy. You can tell that he just cares about what is best for you. After going through breast cancer treatments in 2014, I found out that the chemo therapy I had weakened and damaged my teeth. He was very sensitive to what needed to be done and what didn't. I found the place was clean and Dr. Patel was very nice and friendly. He made my kids feel comfortable. I found two downfalls, one was being sold on services. Second, I made an appt for my boys and same day rescheduled because of a conflict. Then I called a few days before my new appointment to reschedule because one of my boys was sick. Then day of my next appointment, my other son woke up with a high fever and sore throat. I called right when they opened and explained I need to reschedule. I got a huff on the other end. I asked, is that a problem? Nicole said, we've had to rescheduled your about five times now. I was like ummmm no 2 or 3.....it was three. She was like we are giving you an hour of our time and you keep rescheduling. I explained my kids are sick and willing to still come in. I thought I keep them home to avoid contaminating anyone but we can come. She's like no, we don't want you to come in when they are sick. I was so aggravated by her attitude and she's like if we reschedule are you going to make it? I said, never mind I'll just find a new doctor since it's an issue for you. She's like that sounds good. We Hung up! I called back wanting to speak with a manager and of course Nicole was the manager. I said, I'm really offended how you treat your patient. She's like places charge a fee and we don't. You rescheduled and take an hour of our time. I said, I rescheduled day I made the appointment or few days before. So you're still able to fill those appt. Today was same day because my son caught what my other son had, typically places understand but instead I'm getting attitude. I've never ever experienced anything like this. She didn't want to hear anymore of my negative comments and wanted to hang up. I told her I'm not done and going to take this up further. She didn't care and wanted to get of the phone. Just cause of this experienced they get a one star. Now I'm a hunt for a new dentist. Needless to say I need forms for my second grader and Nicole's attitude put me in a predicament.
