Not a good iced matcha latte. It was needed more matcha flavor. I felt like I was drinking milk woth a hint of matcha.

I originally went to this café and had great service but gave them 3 stars because of my matcha latté I got. I visited with a large walking group and they knew ahead of time so they made a few pre-mixes for the rush which was very smart. The match mix didn't work out too well and my matcha latte had very little matcha. They invited me back and I can say that their matcha lattes are completely fine and the book store is so cute. I changed my rating to 5 stars. The staff were so nice. I originally was trying to buy another matcha undercover but they asked me if I was Tatty. Oh darn!

Both books each for less than $5! And hardback too!

Happy Medium Books Cafe was not only the first bookstore I explored in Jacksonville, but it is also what got me into exploring bookstores more often. The store is small, but has all the charm. You can find both new and secondhand books. Don't forget to explore the clearance section as you can find some good reads for less than $5. It's a great pit stop for a casual stroll or settling down to study/work. There is a cafe located within that I have not tried yet, but I certainly am excited to try in the future.

Kids area with a train table, play phone, puzzles, books and a soft space to play!

I may or may not have went in for one book last week and got 6 books over 2 visits The selection is current, the book club options are immense and they offer amazing prices for a small indie bookstore. The first time I went in, I felt like I had a personal book consultant because they were kind enough to show me other books in the genre I was looking for. Not pictured: the delicious guava treat we devoured in 0.2 seconds!

A new owner and a very nice set-up, with all sorts of books available (including discounted), a children's play area, lots of literary-related items, a nice café area with luscious pastries and coffee/tea drinks available. It is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but there's a plan to open on Tuesday evenings for "drinks" and book discussions/author presentations. We were greeted with very friendly service and the discounted books present a good value. Parking along the street in both directions may still be limited during higher traffic hours. This is located near a wonderful antiques mall store and the Cool Moose Café and an Italian Eatery. No excuse not to grab a tasty meal or snack/dessert while book or antique shopping!

This cafe and bookstore is so adorable. The owner, Annie, is so sweet and is happy to help you find a new book to read. I love that this store has a little bit of everything when it comes to genre. They also offer a small area of Spanish books and a table of banned books. The lemon blueberry citrus scones are INCREDIBLE and the lavender lemonade was very tasty. I'll be back soon :)

Cute and Cozy Women-Owned Book Store with an eclectic inventory and a great little cafe inside with house-made beverages full of Coffee, Teas, and lemonades along with daily Pastries, Empanadas, and more. Anne has been there on both visits and is patient, friendly, and very helpful during your visit. If you decide to stop in, try and make it before 2pm if you want to try their Empanadas, because those are made in a limited amount each day. It's always a pleasure to find these hidden gems in our City of Jacksonville.

Stopped here as part of the visit Jax coffee trail. Instead of coffee, I was sucked into the selection of books! I love seeing an independent book store making it work. Lots of people were browsing and the line for the coffee was long. We bought a book and some stickers for a reasonable cost. The cashier was friendly and helpful.

Don't sleep on your local bookstores!…read more We participated this morning in a group walk and afterward, of course we had to stop into the bookstore! It's basically the law - you're in San Marco square, you go to San Marco book store. The book selection is ever evolving so there is always some new treasure to discover among the stacks. And often, I find books in there less expensive than Amazon. And there is a selection of books with author signatures as well, for no additional cost. Some of the signed ones have been ordered from the publisher, but a good portion of those come from live author events the book store participates in. There are so many wonderful events you can attend here, like the author signings mentioned above (and of course a slew of other things) And often, those authors will sit for a chat. I discovered a new favorite author when I accidentally stumbled into one of those events. It was neat to hear her discuss her book and answer some great questions. The. Store is also very involved in the community around them which I love. (The owner even participates in the group walks in the area sometimes!) They also partner with the library for some larger author signings and other events. If you love reading, this is a must visit!

When I looked on Yelp, this was the only local bookstore for miles (the next closest is Books-A-Million). They are located within Beaches Town Center and are just one block from Neptune Beach. They are a small but mighty bookstore with plenty of options for everyone. The staff was amazing and quickly asked if we needed help finding anything. I mainly like to read fantasy and was able to find some books I hadn't heard about before. I really enjoyed reading the staff recommendations which are small pieces of paper nestled between the pages of the book. I thought that was such a cute detail and made the shopping experience more interactive. If you love books, I highly recommend checking out The BookMark!

There was a woman behind the counter who was wearing a mask, so I couldn't tell if she was smiling or just looking at us. As group after group of people walked in after us , the same lady greeted them and asked if they needed help. The difference between us and the other groups was that I am a POC. Thinking it was a fluke, my husband (who is white) walked back in with my kids later and was happily greeted by the same woman. Just wow.

Located behind Cultivate on Park Street, Vanessa curates her tiny store with diverse and forward-thinking books spanning all genres of fiction and nonfiction, as well as adorable stickers and reading tchotchkes. I'm a big fan of their Blind Date with a Book, which you can also find at other local stores like Temporium. If they don't have a book that you may be on the look out, there's a little box to request it. They hold wonderful events that are inclusive of everyone, and they put the community first time and time again. They partner with other local businesses to host events, such as hosting their book club at Alewife (RIP) or now BREW. I think my favorite events that they've held have been the Book Club Fairs (where you can meet the leaders of different book clubs in Jax), Grown-Up Book Fairs (think Scholastic Book Fair for adults), and their Book Swaps (where you can bring up to 10 of your own used books and swap for 10 new-to-you used books).
