Solid AYCE hot pot place in Boston. They have all the standard hot pot fixings you could want, and the meat quality was great! Sauce bar was a little more limited than others I have experienced but it did the trick. There is also hot food and unlimited drinks available. Large variety of veggies, noodles, tofu, and fish balls. About $33 per person for the classic meat menu on the weekend.

Great selection of meat, noodles and vegetables. Highly recommend in the cold weather of Boston. Friendly staff. And a bonus of tea included in the AYCE hotpot. Love the warmth of wood and color of the restaurant decor.

Very good hot pot place with delicious broth! I especially like their broth because they put whole cloves of garlic in, so garlic lovers like me should love it!! Happy Lamb is AYCE, and they have an amazing happy hour deal on weekdays which is 2-5pm, $20 pp. The meat is tender and you order it at your table, and all the others (veggies, tofu, seafood, etc), you get up and get yourself. The past two times I've gone, they didn't have enoki mushrooms which was sad. Also, I love putting tomatoes in my broth but they didn't have it the second time I went. It gets very busy, especially on holidays and weekends so sometimes the staff isn't able to check on you, but there are lots of staff running around which you can flag down if you really need something. Overall vibe of the restaurant is dimly lit (especially if you're in the back), but very lively. Perhaps my favorite part of this restaurant is the free sodas and free tea/juices which are always good. I wish they did have more dessert options and sauce options though. Definitely a good spot for AYCE hotpot with good quality food.

" Affordable Hot Pots" First time coming to a hot pot place . My friends recommended it . My husband and I loved it . It's super affordable here . My friends showed us other places that cost more . You get more for your buck here . The service is good . The vibe is welcoming and warm here . We definitely will be back here .

I must say, my first time coming to the Allston one as the Chinatown one is closer. Things i noticed immediately, larger space, cleaner for sure, bathrooms spotless (they have upstairs and downstairs). Ready foods: - fried shrimp chips - spring rolls - sesame red bean balls - curry chicken. - fried rice - stir fry noodles - white rice They had more things at the free bar for veggies and seafood etc. + white fish + spicy fish (which ctown doesn't have) + calamari rings + different variety of fish balls and cakes (the cheese filled one was good) + beef white tripe + tofu and veggies galore (more then ctown) The drinks, ice water, plum juice, jasmine tea, etc no open soda machine like Chinatown (but we don't need that). Their sauce bar The service was great, attentive and quick. Definitely has no become my go to for happy lamb. Parking can be had more easily than around Chinatown as well during dinner time. Our server quickly notified us we barely are making the lunch pricing (before 4pm on fridays) and put our order in before the time switch so we got the lunch rate of 24.99! Thank you for that! Great experience, spacious, nice clean tables and booths. A favorite indeed for pricing, service and cleanly space! We usually get golden cabbage marrow broth and select the base AYCE, we get all the available meats on the menu and go to town!

We were seated quickly, and the restaurant was spacious & clean I chose the half tomato, half spicy broth, and the tomato one was sooo yum. For $29 AYCE on weekdays, it's such a deal. You get to pick your own meats, and there's a huge selection noodles, fried rice, veggies, drinks, sauces, and even a hot bar. There is water by the drinks. Service was fast and efficient. It came out to around $70-$80 after tax and tip for two people. I personally think the Allston location is way better than the Chinatown due to the wider selection and quality!!

I... LOVE... HAPPY LAMB HOT POT!! I tried Happy Lamb for the first time at the Boston Chinatown location & was absolutely obsessed. We were in the area today and decided to try the Allston location. AMAZING! I actually think I enjoyed this location even more than the Chinatown one hahaha. A lot more updated & new, bathroom was literally so clean, lots of seating available, & had more non-meat options. Our go-to broth lately has been the golden cabbage marrow broth. It's so delicious & flavorful! Highly recommend if you like a bit of spice; it's like a hot & sour base. I prefer it over mala spicy marrow broth because it's drinkable. We opted for just the regular AYCE, because that's all we need. For meats, we order: natural marbled lamb, hand sliced beef short plate, marinated garlic beef, & the marinated spicy beef. They have sour plum juice here; my favorite! I couldn't help but refill it 5 times throughout the meal. For seafood, they offer white fish, shrimp, calamari squid, & spicy fish. If you enjoy tripe, they also offer white tripe! One thing that I wished they had that would've been nice would be fish roe balls. Other than that, our meal was phenomenal!! Our server was great! We arrived right before dinner time AYCE started, so luckily we were granted the Lunch AYCE (Mon-Fri) price $24.99/pp. Parking: can be found on Brighton Ave & Harvard Ave.

Food: Delicious and you get to eat as much as you'd like w the fixed amount you pay. I think it ranges from $30-$48 per person depending on the meat selection you'd like. Service: quick and attentive Ambiance: cozy

It's a really good hot pot restaurant with the broth being the star. It's a you can eat now. The new menu includes a VIP price, other side items, and the lamb skewers (I really recommend this) is back. Just for some context, the VIP buffet is a bit more money but not sure if I really remember it because the base menu includes a lot already. Here is what I recommend though: 1. Lamb skewers!!! It made a return and it's one of my favorite sides. 2. The spicy broth here is my favorite broth of all time and that is comparing to other hot pot places. 3. The garlic beef is a unique item here and must try. 4. Fresh Coconut comes with coconut shell and the perfect drink for the summer. I just have to knock down a start because the wait staff could be slow on certain days or busy days. Can they also fix the front door from slamming every time it closes?

Awesome AYCE Hotpot place in Allston! Don't expect insane quality, but it's definitely good and you get a lot for your money's worth. Was about $27-$30 per person depending on what meat selection you choose. Overall, we had a great time! We got the original spicy and non-spicy broths and they were both flavorful. They have some fantastic hotpot add-ins like tofu skin, fish tofu, and a ton of veggies. Meat & sauce selection is large too. The restaurant does get busy quickly and there's usually a time limit to how long you can stay. They also have good promos sometimes ($20 off, etc) so if you're craving hotpot, Happy Lamb gets the job done.

A great place to celebrate a birthday or just enjoy some weekday all-you-can-eat hot pot! We came to use their offer of the birthday person eating for free if they bring four people with them. We came around 6:20pm on a Tuesday and were seated right away. It definitely got a lot busier, as by the time we left, there were multiple parties waiting to be seated. Their AYCE hot pot is really high quality compared to other options in the area. The broth itself is so flavorful that you don't really need dipping sauces. The meat came quickly after we ordered it, and the servers were really on top of refilling our broth. The price isn't bad, at around $35 per person after tip and tax. I would definitely come back again!

Happy Lamb Hot Pot has several locations in Massachusetts. My favorite location is the Allston location - where I usually always find a parking spot. Be sure NOT to park at another privately owned lot by accident as they WILL tow you! This happened to me once not knowing and it cost $150 to get my car back. I often meter park on the street and haven't had any issues. The restaurant is big and typically never a long wait. There is a lot of seating and easy to get around. It is All-You-Can-Eat buffet and has plenty of veggie and meat options. They also offer complimentary fountain drinks. You can get white rice and/or friend rice and some appetizers that they have pre-made in the buffet station. For hot pot broth, I like to get the "Best of Both World's" which is a half pot of original broth and half spicy broth. They also let you do a half and half pot if sharing with another person - that way if you are like me - you are not using the same hot pot if you don't want to. It's well worth the money! You will not leave here hungry. Service is always quick and staff is attentive. I've already got my friends and family hooked! :)

This AYCE hotpot place now includes unlimited meat! Pricing was about $30 per person, which is reasonable. Its a few dollars more per person than Spring Shabu Shabu but you get unlimited meat, but less veggie and overall choices. Drinks were included as well, so you could get sodas. Happy Lamb has a more curated selection of offerings. Rather than overwhelming you with lots of choices, they are careful to offer a little bit of everything to ensure everyone has something they enjoy. I was surprised they had intestines and beef tendon! Sounds gross but pretty tasty to me. Avoid the hot prepared foods as those were not good at all. For our family of 4, we had to share one divided pot with 2 choices for broth. For sauces, you are pretty limited here compared to Spring Shabu. The unlimited meats were decent and fresh looking. Our favorite is the fatty beef. The pork wasn't that great. Lamb and chicken is an option. They had some fish at the self serve areas for you to pick up. The restaurant overall is much smaller as well but that means less crowds to deal with. Good luck finding a table at Springs unless you time your visit to when they open, or after the 1st wave. The place looked and felt clean. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

The hostess provided a plastic covering for my purse and explained that the smell from the hotpot can cling to fabric. I genuinely appreciated that level of thoughtfulness. She also took time to explain the specials and suggested ordering a combo since it would cost less, which felt honest rather than sales-driven. The ingredients were fresh and delicious, and the toppings bar had so many options that you can really customize your experience. I went solo this time but this is definitely the kind of place that would be perfect for groups. What truly stood out to me, though, was the service. I accidentally threw something important away before leaving and didn't realize until I was gone. When I called they looked through the trash but couldn't find it.They allowed me to come back and search through the trash and even provided gloves. That level of patience and kindness is rare and meant a lot. Between the fresh food, helpful staff, and exceptional service, this was a 10/10 experience. I would absolutely recommend.

To find a good place to go and Happy Lamb for the bill. We arrived early, doors still closed but the vestibule was available for us to sit while waiting. In the vestibule they have their menu posted so we browsed while waiting and had decided on what we wanted. Doors open and immediately sat at a table with flat burners. Decor is Asian themed with plenty of seating. Space is well utilized. Menu given and order taken. Once the hot soup portion was done and our protein picked out off to the buffet portion of this experience. They have three large shelves coolers with multiple shelves filled with veggies, noodles, and fish to add to your hot pot experience. They also offered hot apps and fried rice. Our two broths in one pot arrived and the fun began. Different flavor combinations as well as texture. My husband had a little bit of a hard time because we were given two spoons for both broths. I had the slotted one and he had the regular spoon so he had a hard time fishing out his add ons. Once we realized this was an issue we were given more spoons. Service was great, clarified items for us and was there when ever we needed. We made the mistake of reading too fast and thought we ordered beef tongue when it was beef TRIPE! It was gray and not appetizing. Tasted it and it wasn't bad. We really enjoyed and will be back.

We weren't made aware of this when we came in, but not a big deal. We asked if the 90 minutes was to order or to leave, and the staff said to order. We then placed a final order and they took it. 10 mins later, a waitress comes by and abruptly says our time is up, we can't finish our food because there are other people waiting for tables, and starts clearing our plates and dumping everything into the broth pot. The 2 plates of beef and fish they just brought out went straight into the pile, wasted. Why take the order if you'll give us 2 mins from when you give it to us to cook and swallow everything? We were just shocked more than anything, and left with a bad taste in our mouths. The worst parts were we realized the family sitting next to us were there before us and still there when we basically got kicked out. Second, the staff lied because there was no line outside and 3-4 large tables open as we were leaving. Truly a disappointing experience - will not be going back to this location.

One dish I would recommend is Xi'an Cold Rice noodles, it's an appetizer but was on par for a dish. The proportion was on the larger side and it had a perfect spice, all I have to say was it was delicious and for $9.95 you cannot go wrong. The dan dan noodles were good, but I would say the cold noodles were better. The golden buns were also great, a classic dish that is always loved with a great crisp. We did get the wrong sushi roll, unsure if they misheard us or if they thought we pointed to a different one but I'm glad they did because the Thunder Roll was delicious. I think it was the yellowtail that was on top that tied everything together, it was just really good. Overall a great place for dishes if you haven't tried it before you won't be disappointed.

We had a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for less than $40 b As an operations guy, my suggestion to management would be to suggest two things: 1. The salmon sashimi I had was a bit cold. It may be because I was at the 5:30 seating, but it taste better cool, but not cold. 2. Not sure where the bottles of wine are stored, but our cab was warm.
