But day to day "management" is a joke. The guy that's the "manager", I believe his name is Edgar, has NO IDEA how to run a blender let alone be in charge of a business. He's probably the most two faced person I've ever encountered. When there's an issue he tells you one thing to make you happy and then goes and tells the other party the exact opposite to make them happy. It's quite sad because that's not how problems should be handled. You're supposed to find a compromise between parties not flat out lie to their faces. They should invest in a manager who knows how to do the job. There's also a girl in the snack bar who almost always has an attitude and is so unsanitary. She styles people's hair around the food, has had a dog in there MULTIPLE TIMES, and can barely be bothered to actually help you. However the curly haired girl in the snack bar is exceptional! The refs in there (except the lighter skinned one with glasses) have no concern for player safety and think it's a joke when teams are aggressively fouling and hurting the other team. The biggest issue is the shorter one with black shaved hair, he's a complete joke and yet they have have him reffing constantly and it's an issue for adults and the youth. I COMPLETELY STAND BY THE YOUTH LEAGUE! When Cyndi is in there, she handles her business with the UTMOST PROFESSIONALISM! The adult league and the manager I do not support. Player safety should be a priority.

It's definitely a busy park enjoyed by kids, parents and grandparents. There are many walkers using the path in the park as their track getting the steps in. Full court but the hoops are not equal. It's a little worn out but the trees are great and I just like the open but confined area. We will be back as long as it's not too crowded.

There is ample amount of grass also within the park. The trees bordering the west and south sides of the basketball court make this a very pleasant location to play ball. They provide excellent shade especially during the hot summer months and they act as a natural barrier during windy days. The lowdown here is that the south goal has deteriorated over the years and is now leaning a little bit to the left. However, that has not discouraged ballers from stepping into the court. Several teams use this court for practice sessions as well.

What grass I did happen upon was kind of brown and brittle. There is a really cool statue of what looked like the City of Stockton on the shoulders of happy citizens in various daily activities. Its rather nice. On one end there is a small marina. Not sure how it worked because I didn't walk over to the gate but I think you come up with your boat from the water side and walk up to park. The Stockton Arena is located right there also. Which also boasts a small parking lot for both park and arena. Its small, but it does have a lot of things going on if you just took a moment to look.

This part of town has three basketball full-courts within half-mile of each other. Although the goals here do not match (i.e., the north goal has a double-rim while the other has a single one), it is still a good place to play ball. Since we play on all three courts, we do our part in sponsoring the nets whenever they get ripped. Sometimes, the coach that runs scrimmages over here does his share, too. This park also has plenty of greens, a small play area, and a horseshoes sandbox. There is a modest amount of tables and benches with one area lying underneath the shade. The nearest restroom would probably be northwest over at the Tracy Sports Complex. A number of mature trees should have been planted near the basketball court to provide some shade during the hot summer months and to tame the wind when it is blowing hard. Having a full-court in such an open area makes it quite impossible to play when the elements are in full swing. Nevertheless, nothing beats coming out and having some fun outdoors...

This is our first year at Salida Little League after almost 6 years with Bel Passi. While it's a…read moresmall organization - we couldn't be happier so far with being here almost a full season. Our coaches are outstanding and have surpassed anything my son had learned at BP (where "daddy-ball" reigns). Annette and the rest of the board have been incredibly helpful and full of info. Yes, the field is not as nice as BP. Yes, it is a small league. But, we'll take a mediocre field and a small league ALONG with amazing coaching, great parents and a total family atmosphere any day. If you're looking for a true baseball/little league experience - I highly recommend SLL.
