I'm not disputing this company's billing policy, but know that you will be charged for services prior to actually having the service and if the services are cancelled (whether by the company or you) you will not receive a refund but a credit. The staff is incredibly loving and communicates well with the pet owners. The dogs are kept on a strict schedule of playing in the communal playroom, getting walks, napping, eating meals, and going to sleep at night. I think the schedule really helps the dogs know what to expect at any time during their stay. I recommend having your dog go for a few days / half days of daycare prior to the first boarding visit as it helps the dog become familiar with the establishment, the routines and to know that they'll eventually go home again. I can't say enough about the staff! They're all very caring and pass along important information as well as comments about your dog that make you realize how much they interact and care about each and every dog in their care. I only wish I had found this establishment years ago!

I can attest to the fact that the staff goes above and beyond in caring for the dogs. They provide for them, what they need personally and treat them like their own. My dog always gets excited as we drive down the street to Dog Tales and can't get out of the car fast enough to get inside. I often look at the pet cam to see what's happening. So often, the staff is petting, hugging, and playing with the dogs. It truly is peace of mind for me to know that leaving my dog at this daycare is like leaving her with family. In mid-January I had to ask her to please stop doing my dishes and folding my laundry. In April/May Marty stopped by for a second unscheduled visit to visit my dog and let herself in my home despite my car being in the parking spot. In June I traveled overseas and realized that a fair number of pills from a pain medication prescription were missing. I do not have proof, but she was the only one with access to my home. Due to the time of my discovery (2 hours before my flight left) I had no other choice but to keep her employed for overnight dog sitting services. Upon my return, my house smelled of smoke and I found two air freshners strategically hidden in my home. My neighbor also commented that there were two individuals staying at my house. My dog loved her and I trust she did a great job with him, however, I would not trust her in my home.

We left two young lab mixes happy and healthy, and at the end of the week, they came back dusty, sad, and dejected. No sign of walks and playtime we've signed up for. When we called while we were away, it was hard to reach them. When we came to pick them up, we waited for a long time because no one was at the front. Turned out, a young girl (college age maybe) was passed out sleeping on the tall back chair, didn't know ppl were there, turned around facing the counter got up and said, "sorry I need to check on the dog I left drying." After she was fully awake, she (and I) went to get the dogs. The kennels were dark, blowing all kinds of dog hair and dust, and dogs on bare floor, unsupervised. Dogs sleeping on cold bare floor also wasn't nice (no blanket policy). It was sad to see a place for beloved pet family run that way, especially after a nice tour we had before we decided on this place. Seems like it improved based on recent reviews. Hope it continues that trajectory.

Brew is an "attention-starved" Airedale Terrier mix and Finn is a 13 lb spaniel fluffball who is incredibly timid around most people. I knew after we moved here from California, finding the right dog walker to look after them while my husband and I were at work for 12 hours a day would be challenging. In fact, I interviewed several dog walkers but Finley was afraid of all of them! When Jen came in for her home visit and Finn immediately came up and kissed her, I knew I had found someone really special. Over a year later (this review is long overdue), Jen has showed up on time every single day, rain or shine, and my puppies love her! I sometimes work from home and have witnessed how they greet her at the door with toys in their mouth to show her, or how she plays, pets, and teaches them new tricks, and I'm touched by her obvious love for my dogs. She has given us tips for how to help Finley gain confidence and has worked with both of our dogs on leash manners. Seriously, Jen is the absolute best. She leaves notes about her walks including whether they went potty -- I love coming home and laughing at her notes with funny anecdotes about the dogs! She's flexible to work with, has very competitive rates (I did a lot of research!), and has no nonsense about not taking the dogs for a walk during inclement weather (which I also came across). She asked a series of questions ranging from our puppy's personality, our training intentions, and medical records. We were able to set up a daily walking schedule - rain or shine. Jen leaves daily reports after the walk. Information might include where they walked, who they saw, unusual behavior, good behavior, encounters with other dogs, and "businesses" done. Because we have a puppy, Jen provided tips for training as well. Our puppy is very strong and stubborn, so this was extremely helpful! Jen is reliable and proactive. She had a vacation planned and arranged for a quality substitute walker. Like most of us right now during the COVID 19 stay at home orders, we are working from home. Clementine noticeably missed Jen!
