Date of Visit: 6/14 Location: Happy Garden Time: 7:50-8:15pm My wife and I have lived in this neighborhood for several years, and on 6/14 we decided to try Happy Garden for the first time. We looked over the reviews and we said let's go! Unfortunately, the experience was unacceptable from the moment we approached the counter. The cashier did not greet us, acknowledge us, or offer any basic courtesy. When we attempted to place our order, she appeared visibly irritated and impatient, rushing us through the process despite it being our first visit. Her tone and body language made it clear that serving us was an inconvenience. Even after we sat down, she continued to stare at us in a way that made us uncomfortable. When I asked if there was an issue, she refused to respond. At that point, due to the extremely poor service, I requested a refund. A man who identified himself as the manager came to the register and stated he did not know how to process a card refund. When I attempted to explain the situation, he told me -- verbatim -- that "no matter the service you are receiving, you should not cancel your order because the food is made." This response was unprofessional and dismissive. No customer should be expected to accept disrespectful service simply because food has already been prepared. I went down the road took my business somewhere else like the manager asked. Excellent customer Service, thank you Golden Pride!! for doing your part. For a business named Happy Garden, the experience was anything but. The lack of customer service, the unprofessional behavior, and the unwillingness to address concerns reflect poorly on both the staff and the management. This is not the standard any business should operate under, especially in a challenging economy where customer loyalty matters. I will be submitting this experience to the Better Business Bureau as well. No customer should be treated with hostility or indifference. If employees are unhappy working here, it shows -- and it directly impacts the reputation of the business. A simple smile and basic courtesy go a long way. read more

We have been a happy garden in a while so I put in an online order and went to pick it up. Said I'd be ready in 15 minutes and it was just coming out when I got there which was right on the money timewise got home started to dig in. Everything looked awesome was hot and fresh and smelled amazing. It was a very pleasant surprise when everything tasted awesome. Don't get me wrong. This food. Here is usually really pretty good, but I have to say today's visit. It was probably the best of any that I've gotten from there in in the past.. the lady that runs the place was polite and rang me up and off. I went.. I would recommend this place anytime to anybody that just wants to have good Chinese food especially the crab. Rangoon is really good and then the potstickers I asked if they would lightly pan fry them and they were done beautifully.. Highly recommend! read more

I came to this place for the first time for a takeout order. I am actually surprised that this place has best of the city 2025 for best Chinese restaurant. The lady who took my order never greeted me. She came across very rude as she was taking my order. I made it a point to extend a greeting to her and she didn't even acknowledge it. Tried it twice. The first time was very meh but I gave it one more try for lunch with my mom. We had two different chicken dishes and the chicken tasted old. My mother never throws food away but neither she nor I could was at more than a couple bites before throwing all the food in the trash. Good thing we did we both felt sick later. On my first try, I ordered online which was easy. Got 2 entrees / chicken EFY and Shrimp Chow Mein.  I thought the food seemed high quality and still it missed the mark for me.   I love EFY (egg foo young).  I would never order this item again because first off, the gravy was horrible - not a typical brown gravy. And second, where was the chicken? Third, the patties were saturated in oil.  Very disappointing. The Shrimp chow mein - well at least I could see the shrimp and they were decent-sized shrimp.   This was not a bad dish at all but it was just bok choy and napa cabbage. A very small package of crispy noodles was provided. I have tried several other dishes (not the food young) and they were good. I don't think that their egg rolls are very good but everything seemed ok. read more

This is a take-out joint--you get everything in styrofoam and plastic bag even if you want to dine in. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings and beef lo mein. The dumplings were pretty good--they didn't seem frozen. The beef lo mein had "wok hei," but scallions, carrots, and cabbage would have really added to it. This guest was not a happy customer. Zero ambience, all food served in takeout containers even if you plan to sit down. I had "Pepper Steak" with Fried rice. Meat was sliced very thin, looked yellowish pale and had zero taste. Same with the rice, probably one of the worst I ever had. The heater was off and the "dining room" was like 60 degrees. Coming from New York I couldn't find any good Chinese until I found this place, amazing atmosphere, great prices and they're very warm and friendly whether it's on the phone or in person. 10/10 recommended. Food is also delicious, I usually get the shrimp and broccoli and it's always cooked perfect and the broccoli never smells which most places it does lol read more

located in a shopping center was a little hard for us to find. Quite a few homeless people hanging around. Outside of building is nothing to look at either is the inside. There were tables and chairs to sit in however I don't think that this was a sit-down dining place because there were no settings for the table and no one was eating in. Everything was amazing, the fried rice is a lot better than what I can do, the chicken cooked a little over but the flavor is spot on. Found my new favorite Chinese place. read more

This business just keeps getting worse. An order of hot and sour soup tasted like water was added to left over soup from the day before's leftovers. There was no taste, just water. Ordered garlic pork and pork lo mein, requesting extra spice. Well when we arrived home, both had extra spice written on the lids but there was no "extra spice" added to the dishes. To my taste, both dishes were "extra bland". No longer a fan and if I could have I would have left a zero star rating; the quality of the food has gone down that far! read more

I have eyeballed this place several times over when I visit Sprouts as they share the same parking lot area. It looks like a little hole in the wall place, so that thought finally pushed me over the edge to walk in. As we all know, those holes in the wall are sometimes the best! The store is only open to takeout, so I placed my order and got an estimated time of 10 minutes until it was ready. I ran into Sprouts and picked up my few items during the wait. I order the Kung Pao Shrimp - it indicated spicy but I didn't find it so. However, I did love the blend of crunch between the nuts and vegetables along with the large, tasty shrimp. Super! This place is really good. It's very close to the house, never had an order missing or incorrect, and they are very quick. The pork steamed dumplings and crab Rangoon are the best we've had since we moved here in 2020. Generous portions and tasty entrees every time. This is my go-to take out place. Dining in is like when you eat at the picnic tables outside of a food truck. I like food trucks so this doesn't bother me. We almost always order the prix fix dinner for three or dinner for four. It never lets us down. It's hard to find decent General Tsao's, this place is good -- especially if ask for it extra spicy. If one were digging for a negative, one might criticize the fried rice, but it's definitely not bad, just a little bland. Solid food at solid prices that's on my way home from work.
