I've been eating here for about 30 years and it's always been very good. It's changed hands a few times, but the current owners are doing a good job. Today's service had a snag. I ordered the house special ribs lunch portion by pointing at that menu item and got what I believed to be a beef & broccoli. I told the server that this was not my order. I believe there was a language barrier and I grabbed a menu and pointed to what I ordered. Another employee told me the food would be out soon. I waited longer than planned, but the food was good. This is a no frills Chinese restaurant so the decor isn't what you go for.

Did Uber eats and the restaurant totally ignored request for low sodium and NO onions on Mongolian beef- many of the Chinese restaurants have figured out they can load you up on cheap onions and skimp on beef

Man, EVERYTHING hit tonight! We had a large party and ordered two of everything! We had the lobster, the sesame chicken, basically the sweet and sour deep fried braised beef(?), the steamed seabass, fried rice, the seafood soup, the cream cheese wonton appetizers, Chinese broccoli, bok choy, snow pea, whole duck (obviously all not in that order) I've had these dishes so many times before. But for some reason today, everything felt so fresh and amazing! I was raving about it with my sister, and my aunt was telling us that it is because we asked for "less salt! " (I would honestly take this comment with a grain of salt lol) Anyways, it was so much better than any other time I've ever had it before! And I wanted to make sure I got on here to really compliment about the food that we got this time around! We ran into so many different people at the restaurant that we all knew. There were a lot of other Asian families there too. You really know if an Asian restaurant is good because you see other Asian families at that restaurant!

First off, I should mention that I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food in general. Also I'm quite picky having cut my teeth on it in Boston's Chinatown. Anyway...I first tried this place as carryout during the pandemic on the recommendation of a friend. I was quite impressed with the food at the time. After far far too long, I finally went back to dine in with some friends and was so very glad I did. The food was amazing. I got the sesame balls and the vegetable lo mein. Others got the sweet and sour chicken combo and the sesame tofu. It was all amazing. The tofu came with a huge pile of broccoli cooked just right. The service was quick and the wait staff were all very friendly. My friends had a very exuberant small child who was just very excited about everything and our waitress was great about interacting with him and helping him choose his meal. The place is a bit on the smaller side and they seem to do a very good business both as carryout and dine in, so you may have a bit of a wait but it will be well worth it. I will definitely be back!

My husband and I visited East Ocean for the first time yesterday and we were absolutely impressed! When we showed up it wasn't too busy... but as we were there, the traffic coming in and out of the restaurant was nonstop for pickup orders. Considering how busy it was, the restaurant was not too loud and it was warm which I was concerned about since we were by the exit. You could tell they had their regulars and I could absolutely tell why once my food came. The egg drop soup was the BEST I've ever had. It tasted savory and fresh. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special and my husband ordered the Kung Pao chicken. The food also was fresh and hot. The sauces in the food were superb! On top of the amazing food, the service was also amazing! The waitress was quick and friendly. She didn't rush us, but was quick to notice when we were ready to order! We'll definitely be back!

My first visit to East Ocean, middle of Sunday afternoon on the 16th of June 2024. Ample parking, greeted warmly at the door, seated immediately. Decor is Asian theme and comfortable. Extensive menu! My dining companion and I had hot and sour soup, shrimp with lobster sauce, and sesame chicken with steamed rice. Everything was delicious and the portions were quite generous. Excellent prices. Personally I think this is one of Albuquerue's best Chinese.

I've been here twice so far. Both times it was fairly quiet and service was prompt and efficient. On my most recent visit I had Singapore noodles and my friend had eggplant with garlic. Both delicious and sizeable portions. I'm looking forward to trying more of their dishes.

Lunch ends at 2:30 so we missed the lunch specials. We got dinner B and were very happy. Wonton or egg drop soup. Great appetizers. Shrimp in lobster sauce and cashew chicken. Is it the best food I've ever had? No. But it was really good. Nice portions and great price.

Absolutely amazing and authentic Chinese dishes. Service was impeccable and the chefs in the back bickered sporadically (which made me chuckle and feel right at home). Highly highly recommend!

The taste of the salt and pepper shrimp and salt and pepper lobster was great. I didn't appreciate that the shrimp were not deveined. The honey walnut prawns were perfect I just wanted more and more :-) I will try other things in the future because I can tell the cooking and style is quite authentic.

Even though its a small parking lot in a strip plaza. Fresh hand pulled noodles are good, which were a little soft for my personal preference, but still good. It may sound strange but things with pork will taste porky. My girlfriend doesn't like pork, but can eat it, but she ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings and it was too porky for her. For me, it tasted just right because this is the flavors I grew up with. The dumpling dough had a nice texture that I prefer. My Ramen had a big fatty pieces of pork which is what I like. They didnt skimp. It was a good bowl of noodle soup. Wouldn't say its the best ramen I ever had, but it was good. Beef roll was good, I would say its one of the better ones I've seen in ABQ where its really filled with beef. Would recommend this. We also got soup dumplings and I will say that we didnt get the proper spoons for them. At first I thought they just didnt offer them, but looking at photos, we never got them. It makes a difference for your eating experience and enjoyment. We will definitely be back as this is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area and you really get some real Chinese variety and not your basic generic stereotypical menu.

There is a good variety & selection on the menu. We ordered our usual go tos: pork shumai, shrimp har gow, pan fried chives, chinese broccoli, beef rice noodle, baked egg tart, mushroom shumai, steamed chicken feet, curry rice noodle roll, sweet tofu. The food was great and made us feel like we had made it back to Houston Asia town again. Our 2 honorable mentions were the baked egg tart which was crispy and the sweet tofu which was a perfect balance of sweet and flavor. This is the only place we've found so far that has these 2 items on the menu. There were many other items that we wanted to try but could not this visit because we were stuffed - next time. My only negative was that the shrimp har gow was a little bit on the gummy side. I would give a 4.5 star rating because of this, but since that's not an option I'm happy to give them a 5 star review because it was barely an issue. Everything else was good! We're so happy to have a place that carries some hard to find asian food items that we miss. The service was friendly and attentive and there was a good vibe. The restaurant looks well-maintained and clean. Highly recommend this place.

The soup dumplings definitely had a precooked frozen packaged texture / flavor - similar the ones you can get from the grocery store. BUT! Overall: we had a fantastic experience. For example, I was hoping their would have fried taro paste in birds nest (ok..I know..this one is really chinese), or even custard buns (this one..I was surprised they didn't have), or..even chicken feet (ok..I don't eat these anyways but hey..it's a testament to what dimsum place would look like).
