I have been here a few times and it's gone alright but my last visit a couple of weeks ago was a torture session. The woman dug into me so bad with her elbows that my body was covered in large bruises and she kept running over edges of bone. She also didn't understand that you don't use a lot of pressure on areas like inner thighs due to the sensitivity of those locations and the large artery there. I told her it was too much and even my body language was moving away from her and all extremely tensing up but she did not listen. She also attempted to stretch me and ended up pulling my Achilles tendon past it's limit and injuring it. It has taken a couple of weeks for it to start to feel better. I will never let this place touch me again and that therapist should be banned from practicing massage until she receives more education. I went to Massage Envy last night to treat myself because my brother got me a gift card, and I was shocked to find out that they practically just rub your body--which is useless. If you're looking for a light massage with no pressure, just rubbing and oil, I'd recommend Massage Envy. But, on the other hand, if you're an actual human being who gets bad knots or a sore back, this is the place to go! They really get in there and massage as hard as they can--it feels SO amazing! Happy Foot is your typical reflexology place but also offer $20 chair massages for 25 minutes ($1 fee for payment by credit card). The interior is much smaller than most places. My therapist initially kept asking if her pressure was too light/hard. Once it was understood I preferred deep/unrelenting pressure, I began floating on cloud nine. She worked my troublesome shoulder/neck area as well as my lower back, arms and hands. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, she placed my hands behind my head, pulled me up in order to stretch out my chest while putting her knee in my back. It may sound a bit torturous but for the back pain sufferer, it was just what I needed. To end my massage, she twisted my body while my hands were still behind my head allowing my back to pop vertebra by vertebra. The reason I took off a star is 1) the therapist stepped away briefly two times and 2) the massage face pillow was broken and occasionally moved. I was a bit scared when I came here and I got weird vibes like I was entering somewhere dangerous. But if you put looks and vibes aside, the cost and service are really all that matters and definitely worth the visit. I have not been to many other massage places so take my word with a grain of salt, but the prices were very cheap and affordable. I think it was about $30 for a 60 minute massage which is great value. The place is very dark and extremely quiet. It felt like I was the only person there. The masseuse led me into a room by myself and gave me some warm water for my feet. I waited for about 10 minutes just soaking my foot in the water and then I got my massage. Every part of it was just a standard massage except for when she got to my back. She grabbed the rails at the top and started stepping on me. I have a very high pain tolerance so I enjoyed it a lot but I'm warning you right now that if you can't take much pain then her stepping on you will probably hurt. Of course, you can just ask her not to do that. But yeah, everything else about the massage felt normal. I have ticklish feet so when she massage my feet then I laughed a lot and tried my hardest not to move around. Tip to massage "therapists": I don't want to feel your fingernails digging into my skin - nothing about that is therapeutic...and how much lotion do you really need to put on my forehead?! I always pass by this place and think it's weird Bc they have their open sign on at all times of the night. Yesterday I saw some normal looking people walking in and out and the price seemed right AND I even looked up the reviews on yelp and everything looked pretty promising so I stopped by... as soon as I walked in I should've walked out... you walk in and it's completely dark no one speaks English so they point at a list of services and expect you to point at the one you want so they can begin. I choose the 30 minute back massage so she grabs my hand and walks me to my room. Now I've never had a full back massage before so I didn't know the routine for how everything works and as soon as she brought me to my room that's so dim I had to pull out my phone light to see and I notice there's two bars shoulder length apart above the bed she left without saying a word and I was stuck like wth do I do now? Sit, lay, stand, undress, I just don't know... so after like five uncomfortable minutes of standing around in there I peak my head out of my curtain and asked for help no one was there. Finally someone showed their face and told me to undress and lay down...I undress lay down and cover up and she begins. THE MASSAGE HURT SO BAD I HAVE BRUISES!!!! As if that wasn't enough it was super uncomfortable Bc of the fact she CLIMBED on me and had her vagina in my face rubbing it back and forth on the back of my head like WTFFFF and then I find out what the bars were for.... after crawling all over me she STOOD UP ON ME! Hanging onto the bars like an acrobat swinging back and forth digging her toe nails into my back as if her feet were not crusty at all.... also the lotion they used was nothing more than an offbrand Johnson and Johnson pink baby lotion. Talk about deep tissue massage.. This place is great. If you've got a knot in your neck or anything like that you really need to come here. I will say, if you are not into a nice heavy hand massage then this place might not be for you. I try to make it there at least two-three times a month to get any cricks out of my neck or back and to get a nice a foot massage because that's how awesome they are. Pricing is pretty great as well. I mean, let's be serious $29 for 60 mins. That's a deal! Vs. your $50-$60 for 60 mins at massage envy.. Also just a warning, you don't get an individual room like at Massage Envy or have to undress down to nothing. My only improvement feedback would be the following: they need to have someone on staff that speaks fluent English that can communicate more clearly and effectively. This person could stay at the front and handle the walk in clients. Second, spend less time talking amongst themselves during the massage as it creates noise and distractions. My first time there, I had a pretty decent massage ( I have been to some 20 other foot massage places & also some individual professional masseuse). My massage lady didn't speak English but there's one across from my room that can because I heard her speak to a male customer who constantly instructed what to do & she would reply, is it here, is this good but all's well, it didn't bother me much. The second time I came, my massage wasn't that great & after my time I had to ask for extra 10 min for $10.00 for my back & neck that's still aches. She did help my soreness this time but what I didn't enjoy was that next door to me is a perfectly English speaking massage therapist with a male customer. The reason, I knew is they were loud, the girl kept on giggling like a school girl & they kept chatting. By the time I heard the girl moan softly, they must have turned on a video-like a documentary which was disturbing. I asked my massage therapist if that was a customer or the owner but she spoke little English, all she could say that its customer, they watching video. WTH? There's a sign in their lobby saying "QUIET ZONE". I'm now in a dilemma, should I go back for my back relief or should I go to the next one. We come here for the body massage that includes feet as well. They soak your feet in a tub, and while thats going on, they start with massaging your head, neck, back, legs and then feet. I like paying more for the private rooms---about $5 more I believe. But nothing wrong with being outside either. TRY TO MAKE APPOINTMENT--they book up fast and especially on weekends. Hurts so good! I left very relaxed and refreshed. These ladies are strong and will get your knots out. And I never make an appointment. I chose the 29.99 massage which is with your clothes on. But she used oil on my back, arms, hands, neck, and feet. They have private rooms but you can occasionally hear other clients talking. There are signs posted that this is a quiet zone. They had relaxing music playing. This is not the ritz, and it is not fancy. But if you want a good deep inexpensive massage and do not need to do much explaining (due to language Barrier) this is a great place for you! This is my go-to spot for a nice foot massage. This place is kind of dark and looks kind of shady but when it comes to the actual massages these women know exactly what they're doing. Most of them don't speak good english but I don't care about how good your english is all I care about is getting a massage that relaves the pain I'm having in my feet and back. I've also gotten back massages at this place and they absolutely know what they're doing. They don't take shortcuts. They do things the right way. Once, I went here with a knot in my back and they talked amongst each other and came up with a plan of attack. After I left that day my back felt a hundred times better. I've been to this establishment at least 5 to 10 times with my wife sometimes by myself and as far as the customer service goes it is subpar because they don't speak English but as far as the actual back and foot massages go they are on point. I used to go to this place all the time before the holidays but hadn't found time till now. It was a wretched looking place but for $20 u could have ur feet massaged for 40 mins. They recently changed it down to 30 which is still not bad. I'm used to the women there not speaking much English but I got someone who barely knew the language at all... I came here because I've been getting foot massages regularly in Northern California, so I was glad to find one near my sister's house. I called first and they were able to see me instantly, so that was a plus. I paid for the 30 minute private/ 30 minute foot massage. For the private massage, After we established I like a lot of pressure, everything was lovely. I was pleasantly surprised that the private foot massage they walk on your back some (better than Cali on this one). For the foot massage part, I've had better. The head massage I thought they were slightly off on my pressure points, so it was so-so. Also, they concentrated on my feet for quite some time. I'm not sure if that's normal for Dallas or because I already had the private massage. I'm used to foot spas just putting feet in water at beginning of massage and taking them out to dry/lotion at the end. I wish more concentration on back during the foot massage part.
