After yesterday's trip, I had to update my review. Foot Spa tends to be a hit or miss. I'm happy to report, yesterday was definitely a hit. Due to my bad posture (guess what my resolution is this year), my upper back and neck constantly give me problems. I treated myself to a massage for my birthday. Esther really had me feeling like butter when I left. Just as a suggestion, skip the chair massage and get the regular massage. I didn't realize they offered services besides the chair massage. After 1 hr massage, I still feel my neck and shoulder pain and even though I requested nicely to focus on that part of the body. The service that the staff provided is not up to the standard. Well, we had come here quite a few times in the past and we came today because it was the only place that didn't close early - it was 9:30pm. We go in and ask for the 70 minutes for $30 special. The lady shows us to our room and immediately the two guys get the hot water to soak our feet and get started. Honestly, the pressure was pretty good this time. I felt like it was a good balance. I forgot to take my shirt off at the beginning like I usually do and when the guy got started I asked, in Chinese, "Do you want me to take my shirt off?" and before I finished asking, he replied with an emphatic, "NO." Well geez! I don't work out every day, but I'm no shlub. So it was fine for the first, 40 minutes, then they went off and came back about 2-3 minutes later and they were all chatty cathy with each other. I mean holding a full conversation. Their Beijing accent was throwing me off so I didn't catch it all but it was about how everyone was gone and that they wouldn't get home until after midnight and a bunch of other stuff. So the massage finished up and we went up to the register. The guy printed out our receipt. $60. I saw the last couple give $10 for their massage. I thought 20% seemed reasonable and I put a tip of $12. Well, the guy behind the counter didn't seem to think so and his English is poor at best. I think he said, "That is too light. It is late." "How much do *you* think I should tip?" Him: "10 dollars each." "I've already tipped you 20%." Him: "Yes." (awkward pause) The Wife then says, "We'll keep that in mind for next time." Him: "No, do it now." Me: "Okay, I'll give you $15." Him speaking Chinese to the other masseuse, "They only gave us $3 more." At this point, I'm not sure what to think. People in other yelp communities are getting massages for $15/hour or $20/hour and they're tipping $5 and some say that's fine and some say they're getting the stink eye. We're not coming back here again. No sense in putting up with this nonsense when there are other places that are just as good and won't give you guff over the tip. Masseuse, if you read these reviews, I am not the one that kept you late. Your boss could have refused our business. I expect you to talk to your boss about keeping you late and not asking the customer to compensate you. Management, your masseuses are acting unprofessional. Perhaps you shouldn't ask them to stay late or pay them more if they do. The third option is to get rid of them, just sayin'. P.S. If you are looking for a spa that gives you hard-pressed Asian massages that focuses the core of your body, then look no further. It was $30 for a 70-minute massage and that includes almost your whole body: head, face, ears, neck, back, legs, arms, hands, and of course the feet. You really can't beat that. :) I would definitely choose this over a pedicure any day, I just have to paint and do my own nails, lol. My friend told me about this place and I thought I'd tag along. No need to make an appointment when we came here last night. They directed us to a room where there were those big comfy cushy chairs and a TV. To get the kind of mood or that serene environment you wanted, you have to tell them. My friend asked to turn the TV off or muted because it was on and to turn on some soothing music. They first started out with your head, they even went down to massage your scalp also. From the tip of your ear lobes to the tip of your toes, they focused on the little areas where they tend to be neglected. At the end of the massage when they were doing my back, part of the massage was when my masseuse got on top of my back and used her knees to press my back and then use her body weight as a lighter gentler press. That reminded me of a Singaporean massage when the masseuse walks on your back, lol. I'm definitely coming back here for a good full body massage, definitely got more bang for my buck. read more

This spa does not get the credit it deserves. It is seriously hands down the best foot reflexology place I've been to. The place is clean, and they were able to accommodate 5 of us with no problem. My masseuse applied the perfect amount of pressure, and i left the place feeling so much lighter and stress free. Right when I went in there the guy who had me started talking to his friend while he was massage me when the guy started to massage me, it was more painful then anything. The whole time it hurt so bad When it was time for me to switch to lay on my stomach, he punched my foot and went outside and started laughing with his friends. I just want to start out by saying that I used to go here but just recently I went and the service was horrible, the lady at the front desk was quite rude and the person who used to do my massages always seems to hit the right spots And nails the pressure, but when I went this last time the massage was mediocre or if anything below par and it did not feel good she left me feeling very icky and oily she had put maybe a pound of oil all over me prepping me to be deep fried or something. NOOO NOT GOOD at least have the courtesy to wipe it off if not use that much oil to begin with and it looked like they also upped their prices too, for the quality and service that they provide the price does not match up. I don't mind paying $60 or even $100 for a massage but I expect good quality as well as service I will not be going here again unfortunately, please STEER AWAY from this business because their method of service has went down the drain. read more

I'm a fan of this place but be careful. The last couple of times I have been there, they have done some :hard selling" trying to get me to upgrade my regular purchase. The upgrade is less time for more money (60 minutes for $40). I did it once and realized I it was little-to-no difference from the $30 for 70 minutes. I don't know why this place gets bad reviews. I've been here twice both on random occasions and we've been treated super well! If we have to wait they put us in a room so we can take a nap or we go to the massage tables immediately. Only ever gotten the 30$ for 70 minute massages but they are amazing! I came here on a Sunday with a friend. The person that gave me the massage gave me a weird vibe. I hope they wash their hands every time. The massage itself hurt a lot, and it was not very good at all. More painful than anything. The workers can barely communicate as they speak with an accident and it's veryyy difficult to understand them. I didn't enjoy it therefore I definitely would not go back and would not recommend. My friend and I went today without an appointment. I had Lu (male) and she had Nina (female). We were in a room with four massage beds. We removed our shoes, socks, and rolled up our pant legs. Our feet were placed in a pan of warm water. While our feet were soaking we laid back on our beds and had our neck, shoulders, and arms/hands massaged for approx 20 minutes. Next came our feet and legs for approx 20 minutes. Then we turned over for our back and shoulders for 20 minutes. My friend had a better experience than I since her massage was very relaxing and soothing. She said she nearly went to sleep three times! Mine was rough with jerky motions, and at times quite hard and painful. Lu asked me, "This okay?" and I would say either yes, or no it was too hard, but he still used the same pressure. There is a TV in each room. It was on and turned very low. However, my friend and I found it to be distracting. Especially with background music playing as well. Odd. Would we go back? Definitely, but I wouldn't ask for Lu. He's just too strong for me. There is a bit of a language problem (everyone is Vietnamese) , but not so bad you can't communicate. The facility was very clean, and both people were friendly. We were told there are several more employees both male and female available for appointment. I'll ask for a female next time. For the price of $29 you can't beat it. You get a lot for your money, and they do take walkins. On my second trip I was assigned Kevin. I'm sorry to report he was just as strong and rough as Lu. Next time I'll ask for Nina, or another female employee. Also, on second trip the TV was off which made for a more relaxing 70 minutes. read more

It's actually $50 for a 60 minute full body acupressure massage (clothes off) and $28 for a 60 minute foot reflexology with some body massage (clothes on). I opted for the $50 one. They also have a $40 option deal going on with 30 min focused on the feet and the other 30 min focused on the rest of your body. The lady I had did a great job. She was very thorough and courteous. She was a little rough on my shoulders/upper back but once I told her to put less pressure it was fine. She did an awesome job especially on my feet and neck. The room I was in had good lighting (dim but not too dark) and was quiet and private. The whole place was clean and the receptionist was also very courteous. They also provided me some water at the end. And no waiting time at all and I just walked in; no appointment at all. A couple of things I found were odd: 1) they did not have a form for you to fill out nor did they ask me if I had any prior injuries/surgeries or any allergies 2) when she stepped out to get some towels, she just stepped out and didn't tell me why. I just thought that was strange. Also I found the room I was in a bit too cool and the towel they used on me was a bit small and I'm not a big person at all. Overall I would go here again. Too bad I'm going back to Cleveland, OH where you can't really find a deal like this. read more

This place lacks in consistency. One person might be good other bad. My masseuse was in a rush and she was just rushing thru the massage. She kept banging things against the bed which made it difficult to relax. Also not relaxing when your masseuse has to yawn every 5 minutes. I have to admit that the price is great at $29 for a 70 min. massage. However, don't expect it to be relaxing. This is not for beginners like me. I left feeling beat up! The pressure was too much and due to communication issues, it didn't get much better. I thought "OUCH!" was a universally understood word. There were times during the massage that felt soothing, like the stretching. The scalp & head massage was nice too. But several other parts left me cringing and holding onto the sides of the table just trying to get thru it. I would say that if you like deep tissue massage, you would love it. I went here on a whim. It was a "different" experience. Some warnings: "Group rooms" There are rooms with 3 beds in them. I thought it was very strange. There was an older man in the bed across from me and later another man came in on the empty bed. I was fully clothed the whole time but I noticed that when I got up, the man's clothes were hanging on a hook. TIP: Come here with your friends, at least you will know everyone in the room. Korean Close Captioned TV: on the entire time, although very soft. I told myself to get over it and close my eyes. Foot soak: They bring a bamboo bucket lined with a plastic bag with warm water in it. You first soak your feet as the massage lady works on your scalp and temples. After the head treatment, I had my shoulders and arms massaged. The lady I had was very strong and spoke no English.I told her that I was a runner and the bottom of my foot hurt. She just smiled. The foot massage was OK. The lady was rough to the touch but I have to say my feet after it was all said and done felt great. Only when she literally punched the bottom of my heel did I think I would lose it, but maybe she scared the heck out of foot pain. At one point you roll over on your back and then she "chop chopped" along the spine, dug her elbows into my aches and pains. This massage was not for the faint of heart. She pushed all of her weight on me and I thought I was going to break in half, but I am used to a deep tissue massage. The cost was $30 for 70 minutes. I may go back again but this time with friends so I know everyone in my room. I would ask for a female, as the men looked a little "rough". Also, I would wear a running shirt or a sports bra and tank top so they can easily get to rubbing your neck and shoulders. My t shirt is stretched at the neck as a result of her digging into my shoulder blades. It sounds like I am griping but for 30 bucks, 70 minutes of semi torture I feel really great. The first time I went, the guy was great. I was happy enough to buy my mom a massage and she had a great experience too with him. The second time I got an older woman. She was nice but made me feel very uncomfortable. She asked me to undress and then stood there watching me and even offered to undo my bra. I asked her to step out while I take off my bra and come back when I'm covered and laying down. She left the room but left the door open. The lady customer across from me was sitting on the edge of her bed looking very uncomfortable when the employee (the same lady doing my massage) walked by and told her to hurry up and get undressed. The door was wide open also. while she was massaging my back, she starts pulling down my shorts way to low. It was very uncomfortable. Maybe she didn't mean anything by it, but it was feeling inappropriate. She also was having a conversation with another employee while working on me. Really? She was massaging really hard and would stay in one spot for a while, which caused bruising. She had sharp corners on her nails and it was painful when she rubbed some areas cause the side of her thumb nails would rub me raw. She would just stare and say nothing. Then when she was done, she picks up my bra and starts trying to put it on me. I quickly declined and rushed to get out of there. While I was paying, she was standing in the hall staring at me again, smiling. Just weird. When the guy did our massage, he never asked us to take any clothing off and did not lower our pants like that. I've never had anyone do this. Also, they watch what you tip. And they will comment on it. If it's too low, they will literally tell you to tip more. And also will tell you that they will remember this next time if you tip less than $10. I tipped $10 and she turns and tells the lady "$10 tip" as soon as I wrote it. read more

Well. I have been going here for about a year. 95% of the time it has been very good and I leave feeling much better. Today however 3/25/13 sad to say did not work out. My usual lady Anna has left so I got an unknown. I left feeling worse than when I went in. The girl shorted me on the time and did not do a good job. Rushed is the word that comes to mind. Not sure if I will go back but if I do I will not have the same girl. Why am I writing the review? Because I usually tip $20.00 when I leave. However; the girl was not at the counter so I paid my $30.00 and left. The girl behind the counter had the nerve to follow me out and ask for a tip. First I want to say that if things go right which they usually do, it is a good massage for the $$. I have been going here 2-3 times per month for stress & pain relief. I have found it to be a pleasant experience until 3-8-12. The girl I had kept turning down the spa music so she could hear the cartons that were on the TV. She also was very distracted by the cartons and I did not get a very good massage. I won't be having her again. A man came in about half way through my time and was talking very loudly. No respect for others. I was drifting and relaxing when his voice cut into my relaxed mind. They had to remove him from the room to talk to him. When he came back in his cell phone kept going off and he had the nerve to talk on it. I told him how rude he was and he stopped. At no time did the staff attempt to apologize for his behavior or get him to stop. It is a place to relax and drift with good Karma bozo, not talk to your distrusting wife. There are three beds to a room so you do get others in the room with you. However, the staff should make it clear that cell phones need to be turned off so as not to disturb the others in the room. Great massage. I have had many chair massage, but they never seem hard enough. I really got my money's worth yesterday. My muscless between my shoulder blades have been so tight, that my chiropractor couldn't even adjust them. After my massage yesterday, it was the first time I have felt these muscles loosen in a long time. My onlly suggestion is to give the tip directly to massage person.
