Mike and Marcia have been extremely reliable, responsible and skilled in taking care of my dog. They are very knowledgeable and caring and it shows in the way interact with her. She always loves to see them and has a wonderful time. If you want a trustworthy dog walker, I would recommend them most highly! read more

We have been with Happy Dog since 2006! I first heard of Mike McRae when I was out in the neighborhood walking our dog, Porter, and a complete stranger recommended him to me. A few weeks later, our vet recommended him. Our dog was about 6 months old at the time, so Porter has "grown up" with him. When Porter was a puppy, Mike was instrumental in guiding us through the training process and putting us in touch with a great trainer. He even came over for some of that training, so that he and I were on the same page with respect to setting boundaries, etc. We've even boarded Porter with Mike when we've gone on vacation or away for weekends. Right before we left for vacation a couple of years ago, Porter had to have emergency surgery. Mike took care of him while he was recovering, which included taking him to the vet to have his staples removed. We stayed with Happy Dog when Joy took over the business. She continued running the business with all the love, trust, and professionalism that we had come to expect from Mike McRae. Though we were sad to say goodbye to her, we were thrilled when Mike returned. Mike McRae is wonderful and we feel that he is part of our family. And, Porter loves him too. read more

We have been using Happy Dog since our 3 year old dog was a puppy! She loved Joy and was very well taken care of. Joy and Mike made sure her transition to Mike was seamless. She stayed with Mike/Happy Dog for 7 nights recently. She left with him happily and came home happy! Mike sent us pictures and gave us updates during our trip. He is professional and excellent to work with. We are grateful to have had Joy and now Mike to take such good care of our dog while we are away. read more

Mike started walking our dog, Pepper, a few months ago. I saw his Yelp and Facebook reviews, reached out, and he responded within the hour. We were able to schedule a meet and greet very quickly after I reached out, and we've been working with him regularly since then. Pepper is an 80lb "Velcro dog" who generally doesn't want to go anywhere without my husband or me, but she will go for walks with Mike and gets excited to see him. He's great with her, and is very responsive and flexible. Highly recommend him! read more

We couldn't be happier with our choice to try play group for our 1 year old dog at Happy Dog. Michael is wonderful and truly cares about all the animals he takes care of. He is responsive to any questions we have and our dog absolutely adores him. I love the small group play setting, I feel my pup is well taken care of there--Michael even sends pics and posts on his business' Facebook with daily pics of the dogs playing. Thank you so much for your great care!! read more

Michael is AMAZING. He watched our cat Gizmo for two weeks while we went on vacation. We were a bit nervous as we had never used a pet sitter before, but Michael put us at ease instantly! He came over to meet Gizmo and talk through our needs while we were gone. He was very easy to coordinate key drop-off and pick-up with as well. During our trip, he sent pictures and updates every day and we could tell he took the time to play with Gizmo. He also watered our plants, which was amazing!! When we came back, the house was spotless - maybe even cleaner than we left it, and our cat was happy as can be. Overall, highly recommend and we will definitely be back! read more

I've had my 7 year old chocolate lab, Riggins with Happy Dog since day one & I can honestly say that the positive social interaction he receives with others dogs as well as with Mike is awesome! I know he's in good hands all day while I'm at work & he comes back home happy & tired from his day at playgroup. I would definitely recommend Happy Dog if you are looking for a safe, clean & happy environment for your dog! read more

We've been using Happy Dog to take care of our kitties when we go out of town since before it was owned by Mike, and was owned by Amy, who had burned out of being a lawyer. Mike is great, and has been very accomodating, even when we moved out across town. read more

Absolutely nothing but the utmost praise for Joy and Happy Dog daycare. As a protective mommy of a four month old puppy, I was very nervous about sending my boy to any doggy day care. However, Joy has my complete trust and it's very clear that her first priority is the well-being of each and every dog. She has sent me emails and text messages if she's noticed even the most minor concern (i.e., excess scratching or a tiny cut) which I appreciate tremendously. She also posts videos and pictures on her blog and facebook page so I can see my pup and all his new friends playing and having blast. My puppy greets her every morning with the same level of excitement as he greets his own mommy (and no one else!) and he can barely keep himself from sprinting out of my house! All in all, I don't have single hesitation on recommending Happy Dog to anyone. You'll feel great knowing that your pup is in the best hands- and he or she will have an absolute blast. My only worry is that one of these days, my boy will refuse to leave Joy's place and won't come home! read more

Joy is a wonderful person and has been a blessing for us, our dog and our two cats. We use Happy Dog several times a week for playgroup for our dog and cat visits as well, whenever we're out of town. Joy has developed a very special bond with our pooch and has even managed to acclimate him to nail trimmings!! We highly recommend Joy and have only praise and appreciation for her services. read more

I have a neurotic and stubborn 15 year old female dog. For over nine years Mike McRae has been caring for her as if she was his own. Mike goes above and beyond all my expectations. He updates me on a daily basis and makes sure she is comfortable. I am so grateful to have Mike and would never look for another dog walking company. read more

Mike has been walking our two dogs for ten years. I would never trust any other person with my two spoiled rotten labradors. One of the services Mike offers is to stay at our house when we are on vacation. Because one of my dogs does not play well with others and cannot be included in the playgroups, this is a fantastic accomodation. Mike cares so deeply for all dogs that he accompanied my family to the hospital when one of ours fell ill and continued to make daily visits. He is expremely dependable and responsible with our dogs. Over the years Mike has really become a member of the family and does everything he can to make our doggies happy each day. read more

Joy visited our cat in our home on multiple occasions while we were out of town for long weekends or over holidays. She was professional to work with, was reliable when we asked her to come to our house, and we always returned to a happy, healthy cat. read more

We hired Joy to take care of our emotionally-needy 17-year old cat while we were away for 2 weeks. Joy was fantastic. We had her visit him almost every day, and the care she gave him was evident - out of all the times we've been away, this was the most well-adjusted he's ever been when we've gotten back. She also left us notes every day on how he was and what she did, which was a nice touch. We highly recommend Joy! read more

They are always available for play group and extended stays. My pug loves Mike and Marcia.

Happy Dog has walked, and cared for our dog(s), including dog groups and overnights, for over 15 years. Mike McRae, the owner, is very responsible, professional and has never disappointed us. Not once. And our dogs love him! He is always alert to our dog's welfare and goes the extra step to ensure a happy dog and a happy customer. We are lucky to have Happy Dog in our life. read more

Mike took great care of our 10 year old golden retriever when we were out of town for 10 days. He made sure that she felt comfortable and gave us regular updates. We are so happy to have found Happy Dog! read more

Joy is a really amazing find. We trusted her petsitting our two boys for the first time this holiday season, and she was a true professional. After just a few minutes meeting with her, she had really earned our trust and made us feel incredibly comfortable leaving our boys in her care. She is flexible, affordable and I can't recommend her enough! read more

Just want to update this review. We are still loyal customers of Happy Dog, our dog Alf attends playgroup several times a week and we have also boarded Alf with Happy Dog. We are always happy and impressed by the services provided by Joy and now Mike. Friendly, trustworthy, responsive, great to work with. Highly recommend! If Alf could type I'm sure he would say the same. read more

I used Happy Dog years ago with my Great Dane. She was too big to board at a kennel, and Happy Dog didn't use crates, so it was perfect! She loved it there. I haven't lived close enough in the past few years, but I will soon and am so excited that I will be able to use them again! read more
