Love Happy Cuts! Chris did a beautiful job on my mom's hair - she looks fabulous! He cut and styled her hair in the bob style with side swept bangs - perfect bob. Everyone at the salon was admiring her hair - very warm and welcoming vibe and cool/hip salon! Many thanks Chris - you are the greatest! read more

I've been going to **Happy Cuts** for a while now, and let me just say--**Linda is a total hair magician**. She's the *only* one I trust with my hair, and she nails it every single time. Whether it's a refresh or a full color session, the results are always flawless. The **color lasts forever**, doesn't fade weirdly, and somehow my hair still feels **super healthy and soft**. No fried ends, no dullness--just shiny, vibrant hair that gets compliments constantly. Linda has that rare combo of being **super precise and detail-oriented**, but also **efficient**. She takes her time where it matters, but you're never stuck in the chair for hours unnecessarily. It's clear she knows what she's doing and genuinely cares about the final result. If you're looking for someone who will **actually listen, deliver beautiful color, and keep your hair feeling amazing**, go see Linda at Happy Cuts. She's a gem! read more

I've been getting my hair cut with Kim for several years now. She is always accommodating to squeeze me in, and does a great job with my bob style hair cut. I was contemplating moving to a different salon closer to home but feel like for the price and cut, Kim can't be beat! I also am not one that prefers to be sitting in the chair for a very long time, so this is a great sweet spot for me since it's efficient with a great hair cut. Thank you Kim! read more

I came here for a haircut since I was in the area and they said they did not have a wait when I called. It looks nicer on the inside compared to the outside so don't let the nondescript sign dissuade you. The location is super clean. They take their Covid precautions very seriously and I watched them diligently wipe down and sanitize after every haircut. Thank you! I got my hair cut by the owner, Chris, who was a really nice gentleman. He talked about how they have been in business for 30 years and moved from Cupertino to this location around 4 years ago. He said they now they have kids of kids they used to tend to coming to their stores now which was cool. I wish them the very best. read more

visited the salon during our time there and had a fantastic experience. I was particular about my haircut, and the staff really delivered--they did an amazing job with both the hairstyle and hair color. The stylists were attentive, skilled, and made sure I was happy with the result. Highly recommended! read more

Been here twice in the last year. First time I called ahead of time to make an appointment as I wanted a cut and color. Second time I just dropped in when they opened at 10am for just a hair cut. Located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The ladies who work here are all very nice - some of them feel like your grandma. I enjoyed both my two hair cuts and also my highlights. Cash only. Haircut was around 30 bucks - I chopped off most of my hair - no wash but she did iron it out so it was straight. Wash included in the coloring. No bleach. If you want some simple and easy this is the place to try. No fuss and everyone is nice. They will give you suggestions if you are not specific like me but if you want something in particular it sounds like they try their best to cater to you from reading the other reviews. Covid safety: they ask you to write your name and number down for tracking. Everyone wears masks. They have sanitizer everywhere and it appears they also have an air filter. I would continue to come here. Easy and convenient. read more

We picked this place after reading good reviews. We arrived in this place after 2pm and waiting for Chris. Chris finished one youth in about 10 minutes and served another client before us, saying that he will help us soon. One female dresser asked us to do the cut and i said no - waiting for Chris. Unexpectedly, another female dresser asked us in very loud voice saying there is no time, "Chris has another appointment". Chris did not indicate anything. So, I let the boy to go with her. In the beginning, we said we like to have long style. The boy had full thick long hair easy to style and cut in layered. The whole process made us uneasy. The female dresser complained his hair needs shampooed and his hair was uneven. (The boy cannot help with oily hair; he had shampooed a day ago before going to the shop, and he confirmed this matter a few times to me.) I questioned the female dresser whether Chris has really another appointment (at about 3:30pm), she replied to me that Chris has another appointment At Home later. Before dry blowing, I requested the left side hair to be trimmed or more layers. She talked a lot with her reasons why it was not layered, and she seemed to be reluctant to do it. Another female dresser showed a gesture how to do it, and she did it. (I gave one star for other dressers who were willing to help.) What made me feel being cheated was that Chris did not have appointment after he finished the client before us. Chris did some cleaning work for floor and counter after he finished that client. Other than the uncomfortable process, If the hair cut outcome were good, i could have given it more stars; however, the outcome is not what we like. The hair does not get the long handsome style he had in another place. The hair has not much layered. is a short style which we don't appreciate. His looks a sharp abrupt drop from top to thin bottom without layers One rude cut had cut a pinch of hair very short and damaged all possible good style - - as shown in picture attached read more

I've been coming to this salon for about 20 years now and I hope I can keep coming for another 20! Linda, Kim, Lan, and Chris are the best and work so well together. Whatever I have asked for - cut and style, wash and style, highlights, lowlights, etc., Linda has done it for me and done it beautifully. I get compliments all the time on my hair and I owe it all to Happy Cuts! I have referred family and friends and they have all become regulars because of the great service and the reasonable prices. The salon is always clean and bright, and I love how spacious it is. Easy to access and lots of great shopping nearby. I recommend this salon to anyone who wants their hair to look fantastic at a reasonable cost. read more

I called as soon as the salon opened and I was able to get an appointment in the afternoon on the same day. Kim did a great job on my hair! I showed her inspiration pictures and requested a long layered, u-shaped cut, with front layers starting below my chin, and keeping the ends thick (no thinning shears). She delivered! I will definitely be returning back. I even referred my sister to her! read more

I asked for a trim with half inch to be cut and left with what looks like 3 inches taken off my hair. I kept getting told whether I straighten my hair and why don't I and I should color my hair when clearly I don't, several times. How old I am and whether I'm married. Won't be going back here. On the phone I was told to not put too much conditioner to my hair before coming for the haircut and yet during my appointment I kept getting told I should put more conditioner. Very frustrating experience and now I'll need to grow my hair out for another three to six months to be and to fix it. read more

Efficient , fast and they just plain know how to cut hair! Found it in this old time tiny strip mall while getting some Mexican food! It's not the super budget place but they don't need to be I can tell! It was convenient and I will go back im about errrrr, 6 months! read more

$35 for a great hair cut and service!! I called the place if they're taking walk ins and they told me to come in at about an hour. Didn't need to wait when upon arrival. Happy Cuts is one of those places that I selfishly want to keep a secret for myself...but I also feel obligated to shout about how wonderful it is! The salon is in an unassuming strip mall, but upon first entering the first thing I noticed was how spotless and sparkling it looked. I was surprised and impressed at how the staff continuously, almost obsessively, swept up cut hair from the floor. My favorite fact about Happy Cuts is that it's a family run business, and it shows: The staff are totally in sync with one another, seamlessly rotating with answering phones, cleaning, cutting hair, and other tasks. It felt like they maintain genuine connections with their customers, and that everyone in the store was part of the Happy Cuts community. Kim expertly shampooed, cut, and styled my long pandemic hair for $40. I couldn't be happier with the results and look forward to becoming a regular! Note: Cash only. read more

I saw this salon nearby on Yelp and was feeling bored with my long, black hair (probably belly button length and lookin' a little dry), so I called in and made a same day appointment 4 hours later for a haircut and color. The ladies here were very nice, skillful, and knowledgeable! I told them originally that I wanted to dye my hair all over with a medium chocolate brown color and I wanted my hair cut in layers. They recommended I get highlights instead so that it will look better when it grows out, and recommended how short I should cut my layers so that it would look good. I said ok sure, let's do it. I told them that I prefer the highlights be more red-brown than gold, & then I blindly put my trust in them. The result was amazing! They did a fantastic job, highlight + cut for $150. They are super skillful with their hair cutting and the highlight. She went super speed on my highlights. The process took about 2 hours. They also curled my hair afterwards. The ladies were very conversational and nice to talk to. My hair feels healthy and fun! They do not use bleach for the highlights! I will definitely try to come back again :) read more

Linda is ultra-FAB with bangs, too. Snip, done, bam, pow. And then flat-iron. Pull, straight, shine, done. My hair looked GOOD for WonderCon and I was paparazzi-worthy, thanks to Linda's mad shear skills (please see picture). I am totally converted. It is that time of the year and I'm glad I came in for my cut and highlights! During this pandemic, lots of ppl are contemplating whether a place is safe or not especially salons and nail places, where your hairstylist would be in close contact with you. As a healthcare provider myself, I'm super crazy about infection control and anal about hand sanitizing my hands every mins!!! This place is doing their best to be safe, checks in with name and # in case they need it for contact tracings, call in for appointments, sanitizers everywhere. The salon itself is very spacious and so it's easy for everyone to get their cuts and still social distance, and plus the door is kept open the whole time for fresh air to circulate in. And I believe when I was there for 2.5 hours, I see each and everyone of them washing their hands constantly, sweeping away, and wearing a mask at all times. Because I felt pretty safe there, I brought my 68 yo mom in for a cut (less than 30 mins, in and out, quick and easy). Then returned the second time with my sis for highlights and cut. As a new mom of 2 toddlers, let's just say it's been awhile...so it was a nice treat for great hair and service! Our color turns out amazing, beyond words! Lol see my attached pic of my boring mom hair bob ahhahhaha and you will know what Linda and Kim did for us! :) This place has been there for a long long time, I think they are celebrating their 30+ years there in November! It's a very friendly and affordable place in the area, located in a plaza with lots of parking. My family and I have been here a couple times now and we will continue to come back to support our local business owners! Stylist: Linda and Kim Pricing: Affordable, $30-35 for woman's cut, $130-200 for coloring depending on your length Parking: plenty in an open lot COVID precaution: appointments, masks required read more

I've been going to the same salon in Alameda for 10 years and never trusted anyone else with my hair UNTIL TODAY with Auntie Kim! I moved to Cupertino 3 weeks ago and was wanting a haircut but obv didn't want to drive all the way to Alameda to get it. Inquired from a few places and they told me it'd cost $85-$200 for haircuts- I was shocked! So, did a quick Yelp search and found Happy Cuts, saw good reviews about Kim and took a chance. I was so nervous at first because as I said earlier, I've been going to the same person for 10 years. However, I felt more relaxed as Kim did exactly as I asked, never tried to cut more hair than I told her. At the very beginning I was very clear that I wanted only 2 inches off max. Showed her a pic of the style I wanted and she DELIVERED. She and the other hair stylist showered me with compliments and started some really good and friendly conversation. Highly recommend it here! read more

Wonderful detailing of the hair cut! Was able to call and schedule a day of appointment. Looking forward to coming back. Note to bring cash.

Been here a few times for haircut. Professional and clean salon. There is ample space inside for social distancing. Stylists wear masks and gloves and are always good at delivering a haircut to my expectations. Will be back again in the future. read more

I'm so unhappy with the haircut I got from Ms. Kim that I must write this review. I have thick south Asian hair and she definitely did not know how to cut my hair. I came in asking for her to just cut two inches, add some layers and frame my face. For starters she didn't show me what two inches was and ended up cutting about 3-4 inches and just have thinned it out everywhere because all my thickness is gone especially at the bottom. I never even asked her to thin it she just did it all on her own. None of the layers are of the same length they are all just random. When she framed my face she did it free hand with scissors?! Regular scissors and not like sheering ones. My front face hair are different lengths! And now it's already so short I don't even want to go anywhere else to fix it since it will just g wet shorter. I even checked images on here and reviews so I guess maybe all the good photos are of Linda and she's the only one that can do hair who knows. My first and last time coming here. read more

I'm so happy that Happy Cuts can have clients indoors! They have excellent COVID-19 protocols - beginning from the entrance there's a plexiglass partition at the cashier station, temperature check, antibacterial gel, the salon is very large and stations distanced, Lysol, antibacterial wipes, and antibacterial gel at each station, they clean each station after each client and wash their hands before working with you. It looks and feels safe. The quality and service is warm, professional, and outstanding as usual. It's really a great place to get a happy cut! read more

Took a chance after reading all great reviews. Lucky me, I was able to get an appt for the same day with Kim. I was somewhat reluctant to go to a new place, but I needed to a haircut badly and could not wait any longer. Price seemed great for a trim to get my split ends gone. After my great haircut, I missed having some highlights as usual. I was lucky again that Linda had some time to color my hair. She mentioned that she did not use bleach, which intrigued me. While I was there, I saw the great work she did on another young lady before me. She also showed me some pictures of her work with other clients. I am very happy with my new color and haircut by Kim. I will definitely return in a couple if months to get a trim to keep my hair healthy. I highly recommend Happy Cuts! Kim and Linda were great! Very professional and you can tell they enjoy taking care of customers! read more

It's so hard to find a hair stylist I trust. Thanks to two referrals, Happy Cuts lives up to its name after being in business for three decades. I've had lowlights before, but none left my hair so silky smooth and soft. Plus, none of the chemicals touched my scalp to minimize any hair follicle damage. I was happy with the blend that looked natural and yet vibrant that Linda focused more on the color and beach wave than the cut. I appreciated her asking what I liked and was willing to try for something different than my typical bob cut. I'll be back to focus on the cut next. The free wi-fi helps if you want to play games instead of read magazines. Plus, the Madeleines and candy sweeten things on your way in and out. Parking in the strip mall is easy. So, I'm glad I finally found a new place that makes me feel young again! read more

Very nice place, Kim was very sweet and I appreciate her patience and really like my haircut! Thank you!

This hair salon is friendly and has a family vibe. Also, the pricing is very affordable in this area ($30-35 plus tips. Cash only). However, I wasn't told over the phone that my appointment was only 30-minute long. I had never had 30-min women's haircuts before and wasn't aware of it till the next customer arrived. Since he came 10 minutes earlier, my hair stylist pretty much rushed all the way through to get my haircut done so that they could move on to the next customer. My hair is short but it requires meticulous cut for a layered look. Apparently 30 minutes of cut in a rush left me very upset with the result. Also, it didn't allow time for communication with the hair stylist so I had to find another hair salon to restore my hair. I felt that my money was wasted besides being unhappy about the cut. I wouldn't come back or recommend this salon unless all you need is a simple hair cut that can be done within half an hour. read more
