I wasn't going to write this review but after sitting with the thoughts, I am. I wanted to be happy with this service but at this point can only say - avoid. Happy Appliances was assigned a claim through my home warranty company. I was assigned, an appointment window. I contacted the company to detail the issue and give my available times so we could work out a schedule. The business owner called, we chatted, I sent pictures, etc. A day before the appointment, I sent a text to confirm and received no reply. Due to no reply, I booked a meeting. The owner called, we chatted, all good, we'll do it the following week. He was to call with a day/time. He did not call to schedule. I received a call when he was 20 to 30 minutes from my home and couldn't accommodate him. (I was at work and had meetings scheduled) We spoke on the phone again, I detailed the issue, he said he was going to call it in as needing a door replacement. I paid the service fee and trusted him. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! I received a call today from my home warranty company that this provider said there was nothing wrong and I just needed to clean the freezer door. The freezer door is oozing something. That isn't me needing to clean it. I clean it over and over and over. But - apparently, it's just dirty and there is nothing wrong and no repairs are needed. He backed up this statement when we spoke again this morning. His reply, as he was almost laughing was "Hey, that's what happened". So now, my home warranty won't cover repairs and I am going to have to pay someone else to do the job he accepted and/or pay 100% out of pocket to replace the appliance. This is why I have this policy. It's an insurance policy for exactly this reason! He falls into the category of providers that will accept home warranty service claims, show up (or not in this case), collect the fee and disappear. Shame on me for not requiring him to show up. Shame on him for taking money and lying about the work. AVOID! read more

Happy Appliance Service picked up my refrigerator repair job from my home warranty company. I should have known something was wrong when I called and told Jonathan that I really didn't want to wait a whole week to have my refrigerator repaired because all my food would spoil. He offered to send a report to the warranty company without visiting my home. I told him that was not OK, that he had to come and visit the job and assess what was actually wrong as the warranty company requires. He told me he schedules 16 appointments a day, when I discussed this with my girlfriend we suspected that he might be making a good living by just collecting the service fees. I was pleased when he called and said that he could come several days early on Saturday instead of the following Thursday., I stayed home to meet him on a Saturday, but he called later in the day and said that he wasn't going to be able to make it. Unexpectedly, I got a call from Jonathan on Monday saying he was visiting two jobs near me and that he could come over, so again I stayed home to wait for him, hoping to shorten the time before a repair was completed.. He was kind of hyper over the phone, I tried to explain that the addresses on my road are out of numerical order, which sometimes makes it hard for people to find my driveway. He seemed very hyper and said he didn't understand what I was telling him. Nobody has ever told me that before in the 40+ years, I've lived here, and I really didn't understand why he couldn't comprehend what I was telling him. (My address is 1055 but my driveway is between the 800 and 900 addresses) He called from my gate as I requested, and I asked him to stay on the phone after I open the gate remotely from my phone so that I could guide him in to my front door. While he was driving in, I could hear that he was very excited and seemed very confused. He was unable to follow, simple parking instructions, and continued yelling inside his car. When he finally parked his car next to my white Chevy truck as instructed he was very agitated. In addition, he had brought a dog that was barking aggressively at my dog from inside his car, and he was yelling at both dogs. My dog is super friendly to both people and other dogs, but his dog was an agitated barking dog inside his car. I was surprised that he showed up in a very nice car with a dog inside instead of a service vehicle of some kind because I had spoken with him about bringing repair parts with him so that he could fix my refrigerator right away. After he exited his car and came to my front patio gate, he had no tools with him and did not appear to be ready to do any work at all, and he was very hyper. I asked him why he brought a dog to the job, and he rudely answered "none of your business". I said "it is my business because you were on my property" at which point he turned around and began walking away, saying call the warranty company, and just got in his car and left. I don't claim to be an expert, but I think he was pumped up on some kind of drug that made him hyper and unable to hold a normal conversation. I have never experienced anything like this before, but I definitely would not have a company represented by someone like Jonathan work for me. Anyone who starts up by saying they're not going follow the insurance companies rules, and then shows up with a dog, no tools, possibly high on drugs, and with a bad attitude is not a company that I would do business with. I would rate this company zero stars if that was a choice, but the lowest rating I can mark is a single star... read more

We had him come out to check our garbage disposal through the warranty. He was super friendly, diagnosed the problem quickly, was great with our dogs, clean, and gave us an active ETA for when to expect him on the day scheduled. The fee was the standard warranty checkout fee, and we weren't charged a second time for the replacement, which was fantastic. He showed us how to troubleshoot for small issues and let us know the life of the installed disposal Very friendly guy, and the requested service to replace was done very well. The Warranty dragged its feet on approving the second half, but then they were quick to get an appointment for us within the week to replace it, which was great because it was right before our party and we couldnt use our dishwasher. I was assigned Happy Appliance Services as a vendor through Home Warranty of America. I reached out to him asking for proof of insurance to provide to my HOA building since they require it for anyone coming in to do work. He did not respond to my emails so I had to call him to ask for it which he said he wasn't going to do and suggested I find another vendor. I had already set a day and moved my meetings around to make the time he requested to come work. Further, providing insurance information is standard for many HOA buildings in San Francisco. This level of unprofessionalism absolutely blew my mind. If you're not able to provide the document, be more proactive in saying so so I don't have to follow up and find someone else when I've already moved my time around to make your preferred time (7AM on a Friday, by the way) work. read more
