Our LG washer stopped working and started throwing a tE error and after some internet research found out it meant there was a problem with the thermastor. So we ordered the part online and when it arrived I tipped the washer backwards and held it while my wife shimmied under it to swap the part. Well that fix lasted less than one wash cycle before the machine started in with this tE error again. So my wife called Affordable Appliance Repair and the very friendly staff sent Miguel to our house. When Miguel arrived of course the tE error didn't happen while he was there. So he told us to take a video of it next time. Didn't take long before we had that video and Miguel was back and working on solving our problem again. We weren't even charged for the second visit. He wasn't sure about the thetmastor we used being the correct part, so he did some very diligent research and called the manufacturer. He found the problem, apparently it was the door gasket being cracked leaked water onto the thermastor causing it to malfunction. While he gave us a very reasonable quote for parts and labor, being the holiday season we just couldn't pay it at this time. However we managed a temporary fix using some waterproof Gorilla tape which hopefully will hold until we can get it properly repaired. The office staff were very informative and communicative and Miguel did a great job diagnosing the issue, I don't think we would have ever figured it out ourselves. read more

I was hesitant to call a business that says Affordable, lol;) I called and lady was so sweet and polite. I got a technician within couple of days . Their slots are 4 hours but I requested a call before it was my turn so I actually left work when he called and it was perfect. The quote was split to parts and labor. Parts I paid for in the first visit and labor after the work was done. The second visit was within a week from the estimate. Our refrigerator bottom freezer drain was clogged and leaking onto the floor. Victor at Affordable Appliance Repair came and fixed it! It was the second time we used AAR and both times the service was excellent and they saved us $$$. Kim was able to schedule us same day, which is unusual in the repair business. Both Victor and Kim are very professional, friendly and reliable. I highly recommend Affordable Appliance Repair, they are reliable, honest, affordable and they are LOCAL! In other reviews people complained of response time. I phoned today, Kim returned my call within 15 minutes and was able to send Victor later today (same day!) between noon and 4 p.m. Outstanding service! Our washing machine has been making really loud noises and I called Affordable Appliance repair. Tina was wonderful and found an appointment that same week. Matt, the fabulous technician, adjusted the belt, which reduced the noise a little bit. But realized that the larger issue is the bearing. We decided to live with the noise for now, since it would be a very difficult repair and hope we can squeeze more time out of the machine. Got a PERSON when I called and she said they could get somebody out to check out my noisy fridge the NEXT DAY. Victor was punctual, professional and thorough. He shared two scenarios, one included him coming back to do a simple task, defrost and put fridge back together, adding "Or you can do it and save $120!" The office staff helped schedule a technician to come and check out our fridge that would randomly stop working. Matt came out to look at the fridge but it was working at the time so it was a bit hard for him to diagnose. He was friendly and asked us several questions and effort to figure out the issue. We were charged a service fee which was reasonable and he gave us some tips so that we could narrow down the issue when it happened again and to call him back at no cost to pinpoint the issue. Several days later the problem returned, and he came back out. It turned out that it was either the computer failing or the compressor. At that point it made better sense for us to look into buying a new fridge versus repairing it. We really appreciated him explaining everything thoroughly. We also used affordable appliance repair for our washer about half a year ago because our clothes were sopping wet after every wash cycle. The technician was on time and pinpointed the issue which was a failing computer system. We appreciated the honesty and knowing what the issue was so that we could figure out what made best sense for our household. I needed my dryer repaired ASAP before we left on a family vacation. I called on Thursday and they sent Miguel out that Saturday at the beginning time of the 11am to 3 pm window I was assigned. Miguel was awesome! Super nice, professional, actively listened to me explain what had been happening and what we had attempted. He diagnosed the problem quickly, cleaned up the inside of the dryer, replaced the fuse (we were lucky -he happened to have an extra on hand, instead of having to order the LG part), and more! The total bill was very reasonable and I was thrilled to be able to get drying right away! This was my first experience with Miguel, but I have used this company for at least 20 of the nearly 25 years I have lived in Healdsburg for many different appliances. The Saturday before Thanksgiving, my range/oven went out. I found Affordable Appliance Repair was open until 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday!! Within minutes after leaving a message, Kim called me back, letting me know she could schedule Victor to come out on Monday. I was blown away just for getting a callback and a scheduled appointment! From letting me know Victor was on his way on Monday to greeting a smiling guy at the front door to learning within 2 minutes what the issue was, Victor managed to call one of his colleagues who had the part needed! On Tuesday, my range/oven was back in business, and Thanksgiving dinner went on without a hitch! I have called Affordable Appliance Repair many times over the years for various repairs on my Furnace, dryer and refrigerators. The latest being my Kitchenaid refrigerator. This is the second and completely different repair on this Kitchenaid refrigerator and I won't buy another one. But I will highly recommend Affordable Appliance in a hot New York second! The result was, not only do I need a a wheel barring job, but there's oil and water in the engine. It would of cost more to fix than buy a new one. I was Grateful to have closure, even thought gotta go out and spent money on a new washer again. Our washing machine started making nose, as we were going on the first lockdown, it gets louder, and louder in the spin cycle, we felt like we were living under the airport runway as the jets are getting ready to take off. Affordable Appliance Repair is the best! The plastic bracket holding our icemaker in place, broke. Not only did we no longer have ice, it also made it extremely challenging to close the freezer door. I called Affordable Appliance Repair on Wednesday and they sent someone out the following day. Jose called before coming to the house, which allowed me to get everything ready (freezer drawer emptied, dogs outside). He did an excellent job and completed the repairs quickly and efficiently. I have used Affordable Appliance many times and been satisfied. This most recent time was for my aging refrigerator that was not reliably staying cold. There was no repair involved, just a confirmation that the compressor was dying and I would need to replace either the compressor or the fridge. As in the past, the real star of the show is the tech. Today Victor came out and serviced the fridge. We thought he couldn't get here until Friday but he called me Thursday and was able to come sooner. That was a nice surprise. Victor was friendly, courteous, professional, answered every question I had in detail. Employer should be quite pleased with him. The only downside to working with Affordable Appliance is the responsiveness. I had to make several calls as I was not getting a callback. Once I got hold of them they were also friendly and helpful. Just that initial contact was challenging. I remember having that issue once or twice in the past as well. I would not hesitate to recommend them though. read more

I called Affordable Appliance to repair an issue with my old GE oven. There was a slight mixup with the service date, but they made it right and offered a discount on the eventual service call. The tech, Jose, gave me a heads up when he was on his way over, and he even happened to have the exact part handy that needed to be replaced. He was in and out in about an hour. I realize that some others might not be so lucky to have their machine fixed same day, but I was really impressed with how painless Jose made the process. He even stayed 15 minutes extra to make sure my oven reached the set temp (which it hadn't been doing before with the busted piece). Will definitely be using again if anything else breaks. read more

It took him minutes to make a very creative repair that amazed me. I have a rental in Petaluma and the dryer at the rental stopped working two days before Christmas. From vacation in Tahoe I called a bunch of repairmen around Petaluma but given the time of year it was tough to find someone at such short notice. These guys said they could come out the day after Christmas: great. It was a Kenmore dryer, these guys said they're Kenmore experts. They called on location and said that they know it when they hear a broken motor trying to start and that the motor would need to be replaced at a cost of $200+. I told them I'll just replace the dryer rather than sink money into the old broken one, thanks and here's your $49.95 callout fee. After returning from vacation I looked at the dryer myself and it seemed to be a faulty starting switch. The starting switch was replaced at a total cost of a few bucks and the dryer has been working without issue for over a month. Broken motor? Kenmore expert?! Appliance repair?!
