First and last time giving this place my money. I came in for an acrylic set where my nail tech was just flat out incompetent. She kept putting way too much dipping powder on my nails and kept having to scoop it out from under my nails which the first time fair, but she literally did this with every single nail and it took her an entire hour just to do that alone. She started filing and cut my pinky under my nail to the point it was bleeding. I wish I was joking but she literally didn't look at me, acknowledge what had happened, or apologized. Just grabbed a cotton swab and acted like it was nothing. How you cut someone with a nail file is beyond me but not saying sorry is even crazier. Although she was wearing gloves, she kept stabbing where I was cut with her fingernail and seemed forget I was literally bleeding seconds before. She filed my nails so much that they went from the medium length we agreed on to short. She didn't even file under the nails, so they're super sharp and uncomfortable underneath. The woman was spending so much time shaping the nails that they're hardly even almond shaped anymore. Not to mention when she painted my nails she got nail polish all over my hands. I was there for almost TWO hours for a simple acrylic set. I complained up front when I went to pay and all they did was give me $10 off and didn't seem to care I had bled on their nail file? Also she refused to give me my receipt as well which I personally thought was very strange. As someone who works in customer service this place is a joke and lacks professionalism. I am a very understanding person but I left here very upset and wondering why you have someone working who has clearly only done nails a handful of times. read more

DO NOT GET HARD GEL. They do a cheap job. The nail tech didn't even care to do my cuticles. I've never had such a terrible hard gel experience where they literally came right off/started peeling in less than two weeks. I live in Bressi and wish I could have a good nail salon nearby but unfortunately that's not the case. Needed a last minute fix due to an event and this is NOT the place for that. First off, walked in mid-afternoon and was greeted by a wonderful lady asking how I was doing and what would I like? My FIRST TIME for a pedicure as a Senior Citizen and Military Veteran mid 70s... I was a little apprehensive to even going in, being my very first time..., but that all disappeared after coming through the door and being warmly welcomed. I was able to have a pedicure as a walk in and was guided to my seat straight away. They set me up with a relaxed chair with massage options, warm water and the rest is pure bliss! Again, being my first time I wasn't quite sure just what to expect and to my suprize it was amazing! They treated me so kindly and welcomed me as if I were a regular customer. There were plenty of people being serviced and I was made to feel like I was the only person there!!! Just OUTSTANDING SERVICE! Enjoyed wonderful conversation with "ALL" again making me feel very comfortable. The pedicure with massage was the highlight of my day..., and a FIRST ever and on Veteran's Day at that. Being a Vietnam Vet (giving my age away now), it was sort of my Special Treat today! I had no idea just what all they do but when they were finished, my feet were like a baby's, soft smooth and the toenails shaped and trimmed beautifully. I was even offered any choice of colour for my toenails..., (LOL)! (I am a man and just wasn't sure what to expect and to my surprize I wasn't the only man there.) I have been here three times. Since the first time, I have become less and less impressed. I feel like this isn't something only related to Happiness Nail Spa, but most nail salons in the area general (since the pandemic I have seen poor quality and dry polishes, trying to upsell on services, newbie nail techs or nail techs with rusty polish skills...) I asked for a gel manicure, it was $30. I had a design with two colors and the lady said it would be $40 which was not an issue. I hadn't had a manicure in 4 months, so I was excited and figured it would last me at least 3 weeks. BTW I have gotten similar design before and every tech does the light color first, then paints on the darker color with a curved line. For some reason, the darker color went on first and as a result the application was very bad. Although the gel manicure looks great from afar (see photo), it looks way messy and amateur up close (see other photo). Due to small business woes and the fact I do feel bad the open/close situation, I still tipped $5 cash for the service as the salon did provide the service. I've been to this salon several times and this will be my last. The pedicure was not at all relaxing (even with the upgrade to a $45 service). The technician was rough to the point where I told her that she was hurting me with the callus scrubber. She was definitely in a hurry to empty the pedicure chair and move on to the next customer. This place is extremely overpriced and probably the worst end result ever. One of my daughters was bleeding heavily on 2 of her fingers, crooked nails acrylics...they yup charge for everything. I think my 5 year old could have painted my toes better. My pedicure was embarrassing. I had to go home and repaint myself. Biggest waste of money. I'm not sure why this place has an average review of 3/5 stars. I started coming here on the recommendation of a coworker because it is right across the street from my work. I docked a star because sometimes the staff can be unprofessional (it's obvious they talk about their clientele in Vietnamese and I don't like that) and the last time I was there I was accidentally overcharged by $50 because my receipt "got mixed up". Thank goodness I went back and asked Kimmy (who works the phones and front desk) to double check. She apologized and said the mixup happened because they were really busy. Makes me wonder who else this could've happened to. However, they have a great selection of colors, clean facility, and most of the staff is super friendly and nice. My acrylic gel manicures ALWAYS last three weeks and my pedicures last even longer. I recently got a fill at a salon with better reviews than this place and it didn't even last a day! I also love that I can get a massage for $10 for 15 minutes if I want. Don't expect luxury when you come here but I think they do a great job! read more

Visiting Carlsbad and I would go back Pros: -massage guy!!! Where have you been all my life. 15 minutes of pure bliss at $1 per minute. Yes please! He set his timer and messaged my neck and shoulders while I was getting my pedicure. I was shocked at how good his massage really was. - my pedicure! I got a Royal pedicure. They put scented flowers in the tub and it was a never ending pedicure and I liked it. Only thing I missed was a timer being set to give my full 10 minutes of leg massage and it being an in debt massage, it was more like a leg rub while putting all the different layers on. - ease of making appointment. I called this morning and they said sure, come in at 10:45am - manicure! My nails came out beautiful! Cons: - As I was sitting there 4 people came in to have their nails fixed from the gel not staying on. - when I arrived at 10:45, I sat in water for about 20 minutes before there was someone available to work on me. - When getting my manicure, I tried to explain to the lady that a few of my nails were not acrylic but they look like they are. So she grabbed the drill and tried to saw through the acrylic which really hurt my finger. When I jumped and said ow, she then understood, hey this is her nails! So happy to have found this nail salon! A couple months ago my mom and I were having lunch one day in the shopping center when we noticed Happiness Nails & Spa. Having been to other Happiness locations (and having positive experiences), we decided to give this one a try. Full disclosure, I did a quick Yelp search of this location and was nearly deterred by some of the low reviews, but I'm always up for trying any place once to form my own opinion. We both regularly get gel manicures so we headed on over, we were seated within a few minutes and let the pros get to work. Were we satisfied with the manicures? Yes? Was the place very very clean? Yes! Were the prices reasonable? Yes! Will we return? Yes, as a matter of fact we have been regular customers since our first visit that fateful day. In addition to manicures, we both have gotten waxed and pedicures and are satisfied with all services thus far. Personally, I choose a neutral color so I can stretch a couple of weeks (or more) and they always last! This place does get quite busy so definitely call for an appointment if you don't have a lot of extra time to wait. We called for an appointment last time and we were promptly sat at our requested time. I got a full acrylic set on 3/19/23 and paid $62. I got home from school today (3/20/23) and realized that my thumb nail on my left hand had air bubbles and was tearing. At the salon I asked the lady why most of the nails had this weird ruffling to them and she said that's normal for darker colors. I'm sitting here with a torn nail and i'm out $62. I got these done for an event next Saturday and I also got them done early since I have no time during the week. I'm very sad that I need to find somewhere to get them fixed. There's also some other concerns i have about this set but i was there for more than 2 hours and was to scared to ask for them to be fixed. I come for pedicures and gel manicures... they have a great selection of gel polish colors, and i have loved both my manicures and pedicures each time i come. The prices are pretty decent. It's clean and they usually have me in and out really quickly. I haven't yet established a regular person, but so far everyone I've gotten has been good. The free 5 minute neck and shoulder massage is awesome! And the 15 minute one that you can upgrade to is even better. That guy works out the knots and kinks in my shoulders like it's nobody's business. My major complaint with this place (which is less of a complaint than a compliment i suppose, but has become a deterrent for me) is that they offer so many great services that i can't resist and that do add up, I end up walking out of there feeling a little guilty at what I spent. Individually the prices are all very reasonable. I think (off the top of my head) it's $16 for a spa pedicure, $26 for gel manicure ($2 off if you get a pedicure at the same time), and $15 for the 15 minute massage. I just wish i could afford to drop the money for the trifecta every time! read more

I asked if they can remove callouses from my feet, and the lady at the front desk said yes. So as I sat down, they put my feet into scolding hot water. I had to make her cool down the water. Then she proceeded to trim ma nails and rub cream on them. Then she buffed my feet. Did not do anything to remove the callouses. I have nerve damage in my toes however she insisted on rubbing my feet so it was painful. Then she said to come back in two weeks? I paid and left. Their location is right next to Unleashed/ Petco store in Bressi Ranch. When I arrived I was a little nervous & just hoped everything would be organized in a safe way. I was so impressed with how well everyone had adjusted to all of the new cleaning procedures & steps to ensure safety! And the staff didn't act like it was a haste or out of the way or anything. You need to get your facts straight about who called the police today. I was here the same time this young girl was and heard everything go down myself. This girl wasn't happy with her nails and so the manager offered to have them redone either right away or on another day. The young girl refused and made a complete scene. SHE CALLED THE POLICE on the manager even though she was accommodating and respectful to the customer. It's a shame to see people like this try to discredit a good company and write things that aren't true. I had a great experience here today and in all my past visits. A few years back, my toe nail was completely ripped off of my left big toe when I had to yank my foot out from underneath my motorcycle after a minor fall. Since then, my nail has been growing in such a way that it'll dig into my skin and cause minor irritation when it grows past a certain point. I've always wanted/needed a pedicure to properly trim my left toe but never gotten to it until today. I chose option 1 pedicure and Cam did an awesome job with the massage and trimming of my toes. I was a little self conscious about how my toe looks but when it came time to trimming, Cam was super professional about not making a huge deal about it and went about cleaning it like any other toe. When I decided to ask about my toe, she gave me tips on how to avoid infections due to an ingrown and how to trim it myself at home. So by now I'm feeling pretty relaxed and much more at ease so I asked to have my nails trimmed (since I was there, why not) and my shoulders massaged.
