What a great dog park! We had a blast playing here on Sunday morning. Having the grass for the dogs to run around in works out great! There was lots of goldens there which we loved seeing, along with some great other friendly dogs of all sizes. The only downside was when we got home my wife and I both realized we had poop on our shoes:(. Come on dog owners!! Have respect for a great dog park and pick up after your dog. This park even provides waste bags for you, so the only excuse left is you're a lazy dog owner. Can't wait to comeback again to play. read more

I love that they supply bags for owners to pick up after their dogs. For the most part people have been picking up after their dogs, but I wish others would pay more attention. This is the Neiman Marcus of dog parks, its clean, well kept, and the small dog park is very spacious. The people that bring their dogs here are respectful of the space and the dogs. Although I live in Dublin, it is definitely worth the 15 minute drive to Danville it is by far the nicest dog park in the area. read more

This is my favorite park. my husband takes our dogs to the dog park here and i often bring my 1 and 6 year olds her to play. The play structures are very nice and there are several options of structures and equipment for a broad age range of children. I have seen wild cats around a few times but the park is very well kept and there is never ever kitty poopy in the sand box (knock on wood). My 6 year old took a class in the "mcgee" house for several weeks through danville parks and rec. While she was in her class my toddler and I played in the park. She never wanted to leave. We have come here many times to allow our three dogs to play well with others in the small dog park. The lawn keeps them cleaner than most parks and the area is well maintained. In the summertime there is a fun group of doggie folk that meet on Friday evenings for happy hour, all bringing appetizers and wine to share. We stopped by recently with our granddaughter and dogs in tow and found it closed due to wet weather. We've come here several times in the winter and I always forget till we are there that they close down. Oh well, this gave us the opportunity to check out the park and play structures. We picnicked and enjoyed feeding the squirrels our leftover bread crumbs. A good time was had by all, except the dogs. They will get their turn next time. read more

I really like this park for the kiddo. It has all the fun slides and swings. The sand box is fun and they even have a water feature which I can't see being anything but great. They also have a great new BBQ area that is covered. I think this is the best park in the Alamo/Danville area. read more

I keep forgetting to check in here but we're here every day. My little one is doing the Town of Danville Little Peanut Camp here and loves it. After I pick her up at noon, we head over to the park for lunch and enjoy the great playground and water area. I love that they have clean bathrooms, picnic tables, and shaded areas but I still hate the tree bark ground and if it's over 80 degrees, forget about letting your kid play on the equipment or sit on a swing. You can actually hear children screaming out in pain all over the park from sitting on a hot swing or coming down a hot slide. Besides the great water area, the playground itself is more of a 3 season park since there really isn't shade on any of the play areas. read more

My dog's favorite park ever! Wonderful small dog park in the far back corner. We have a whole group who get together for Yappy Hour food & fun on Friday nights. We share info so our dogs can still have "play dates" when the park closes in the winter. I've made friends with some truly terrific people, and some cool little dogs here. read more

Loved this park before the recent remodel. Now I'd say it's more geared toward younger kids (under 5). Older kids will find it pretty boring. The water feature area is nice, and there is a great open grass area for picnics. read more

We really love this dog park. There is shade, and benches, and a huge space for the dogs to run. I'd say the good majority of the dogs are great. Every once in while you'll get a bad dog, or a bad owner, but I'm sure it's that way at every dog park. The morning group is really easy going, and the dogs are very social. The afternoon is basically a ghost town, and the evening is the only time I've seen the iffy owners, but nothing too bad or crazy. read more

Lived in this town for a good spell and never once bothered to come here....Geez, where've I been.....So, thinking I really should socialize my furry pal and take my 7yr Lhasa Apso to a place where he could play with others...This park is very close to where I live. As the other reviews, they have 2 parks..1 for small and 1 for larger dogs. Since, it was his first time, I put him in the small one...he did pretty good. 2nd time, I brought him into the large dog park. He did OK. Shy at first and pretty much stayed close to me most of the time. They have a water fountain for them..benches for the humans and poop bags! Great climbing structures, clean, peaceful. It's hard to find a park with green grass these days, but Hap Magee has a modest amount. Lots of trees, which I loved. There is a dog park section, but it's pretty separate from the kids play area. Loved this park, we'll go back soon for sure. read more

I've been to this park twice and it was closed both times for no particular reason. From what I can see, it looks nice enough. The second time I was there, another patron decided to hop the fence and it looked like his dog was enjoying himself. I have to give it two stars because I hate parks with unpredictable hours. Also, there is a cemetery close by, which would make me think twice about staying at the park too late. read more

Dog Park centric review (comparisons drawn from Paso Nogal Dog Park) First trip to this dog park was this past Saturday. The people park is pretty easy to get to and the dog park is at the end of the parking lot. For the size of the overall park the parking lot is kinds small but then again the park on the whole is huge. The dog park is smaller then Paso. But Haps has a better layout, more benches, different types of terrain (gravel, wood chip, grass, dirt and concrete) a slope, pack dirt path, a "patio" where the lone water fountain is. That would have to be the one draw back, only one water station but the station is located centrally in the park. The small dog section is a decent size, VERY green and ringed with wood chips. One water station and the section seemed little used. The Dog Park is closed on Tuesday for maintenance. It's a little out of the way but my dogs and I will most definitely be going again. read more

The whole family came for a picnic on a beautiful Spring Day. Two wooden structures, baby/big kid swings, sand pit, see-saw, water play area and even a merry go round (I was just thinking that the new parks don't have these). DD loved the merry go round (she's never been on one before) and plenty of areas to run and chase birds. There is shade at the park, although it was mainly over the sand and on the periphery. read more

People are really nice and dogs are basically well behaved- if not owners will step in- unlike other parks I have been to in the area. This park is very clean and free from poop. Love this place!! I absolutely love this park! The playground area is fantastic- there's a toddler play structure, a larger structure for older kids, a sand pit, and a water play area. There's a great picnic area that is shaded, a sand volleyball court, and a HUGE grassy area for all kinds of fun. This place ALWAYS has kids running around, and it's easy to see all areas of the playground so you can keep an eye on your kids without stressing. With the dog park next door and the equestrian stables on the other side, there's a lot going on at this park. It's never boring. :) read more

Dog Park review: It is very dusty with all of the dirt so be prepared. There's lots of dogs that come here-its a very popular place.. There might be lots of little kids running around in the play area and there are a lot of families that come here. Its a nice atmosphere. You can sit on the benches and watch the dogs play. large park and not enough kids playing after lunch. during spring time I hope to see others socializing children. kids need lots of room of free space to run and jump. luckily there is lots of free parking at this park and lots of places to eat picnic lunches. I spent a lot of time over last summer here. this year is a great time to fingerpint and make pictures to send to grandma and grandpa made by growing little ones. it would be great if local dog walkers would come down and hang out on weekends. I would pay them to run the dogs around town at lunch time if they can bring references. every teen wanting to earn money only needs to ask parents to pay them to walk dogs at lunch time every day during spring and summer. nice potential business for teens giving dogs lots of love in exchange for pocket money to save or spend as needed. a teen just needs a cell phone, a day pack filled with poop bags, own water, pair of tennis, willingness to be understanding of dogs behavior requires poop picked up and not left for someone to step in. I'd pay a teen $$$$ to walk my dogs. read more

This is a beautiful public park and very dog friendly (well, I was there for a dog show). The children's play area is awesome, complete with a sand pit for making castles and water fountains to splash in. I was surprised the bathrooms didn't have any soup and there wasn't enough parking (had to park 1/2 mile away at the United Methodist Church). read more

I love this park! It is so awesome and well maintained. Every time I have the pleasure of accompanying my dad and my parent's Schnoodle (Schnauzer Poodle mix) to this park it is a great experience. It is closed in the winter which is a bummer but completely understood. They have 2 sections for pups. One for large and one for small. You see all kinds of dogs here and they are all relatively well behaved. Even if you only go with someone else's dog as a spectator it is so much fun to see the canines frolicking! And it's obvious how well maintained it is. There is also a lovely "human park." on the same grounds which is beautiful and fun to walk around. This is a perfect park for those with all different kinds of children (humans & dogs). The dog park is very spacious and there's a separate part for small & big dogs, however, when I went, all dogs were in the bigger dog park. There are benches, trees for shade, and lots of grass. There's also wood chips and dirt so dogs can get dirty easily. When we went, stuff from the trees kept flying through the air which gave my friend and I really bad allergies.. not sure what it was. All in all, I would come back again, but the dog park near my house with synthetic grass is still our fave. read more
