Pleasantly surprised by this "dive bar". Some of the best smashburgers and chicken sandwiches I've ever had.

I live close by so I have been cheering for the place to be successful. I still am, but after the past two times going I decided it's not the place for me. I love music and go to places with live music to eat so it's okay then, but here where you just want to catch a meal face to face with friends you literally have to YELL to hear each other. Really an amazing experience. Especially considering our area has become a bit pretentious this down to earth, family field restaurant and bar, purvey, amazingly thoughtful and delicious meals and highly creative exotic drinks all for a legitimate normal price. Hard to mess up a hamburger especially when that's basically all you have and you just smash it to temp. Everything else is frozen CBI shit food. The one owner seems pleasant, the other is an arrogant jerk off who thinks he can make a better cocktail than anyone around and he will tell you that. Told me "don't worry bro, I'm not from around here I actually know how to make a cocktail". I'm a local and we ain't bros. Never charged my bros for a drink. I drank the small cocktail and waited for another before I gave up and left. Come to the town I grew up in and disrespect every bartender in the area in the 1st five minutes and I'm out. Hope they go back to Minnesota or wherever they're from when they fail next summer because the locals will not support. A nice slice of humble pie may save them but I don't think the guy has it in him. read more

I don't see the 4.5 rating for this place anywhere. The food was alright, but nothing special. The burger, which is their main dish, was odd and the fries were the crinkle-cut fries, which were underwhelming. The service was not good. We were given waters without straws, and our beer glasses stayed empty for over 10 minutes. We wanted refills but got tired of looking around and waving at the bartender. The waitress brought our food and then disappeared until we asked for the check. I don't know what this place is like if you sit at the bar, but I would not recommend getting a table. Great service by Macy. The owners were always out and about checking on customers. Best Old Fashioned, they use a Knobb Creek bourbon and rye. Some of the best food we have had! Burger and fish sandwich were amazing! By far one of the best burgers in the area, you can tell they use high quality meat. We also had the chicken wings with homemade bbq sauce, wings were crispy and delicious. The drinks were on point, they had a great take on a classic Piña Colada made with soda. Last night friends and I dined at Hap and Hooch for the first time. We met Cassidy the owner who warmly welcomed us and shared what makes his restaurant so special. Cassidy has a passion for serving the best elevated "dive bar" food and curated delicious cocktails! I finally found the smash burger I've been searching for and theirs is made with wagyu beef! Met the owners Dan and Cassidy at another restaurant prior to H&H opening and my husband and I were excited to check out their place! Great casual, Classic bar/diner feel right near the beach. A nice afternoon crowd when we dropped in, started at a high top and the server was great about scouting open seats at the bar for us a few minutes later. I was looking forward to the gin gimlet, tart and balanced with rosemary garnish. We chose the smash burger at Dan's suggestion, delicious with crinkle fries side. We switched to their espresso martini for after dinner, in nice coupe glasses. We like ours "espresso forward", and it was a win. Finally, before we left they were very generous with samples of their Piña Colada seltzer (made in house) and hot Irish Coffee topped with cream. Friendly, attentive service and a great time relaxing with my husband. We'll be back to try their new creations soon... PS they have additional seating and a chill game area (electronic darts, wing chairs, neon decor) around the corner from the bar area which should be open soon. read more

Think of your local Pub and turn it up a notch or two. Everything on the menu has been tweaked to make it a bit better. Even the Chicken wings are cooked differently giving them a crisp on the outside but moist and meaty on the inside. Great cocktails that are a step above anything around.
