I was in town for my son's baseball tournament at Cacti park and stayed in an AirBnB a block away from this shopping center. I ate here two nights in a row (Tuesday & Wednesday), sat outside at the bar and watched the MCWS. It was perfection. Between the two nights I got 3 cocktails, a steak salad, fried oysters and the Swordfish (special of the day). It was all SO delicious and worthy of coming back. I had the same bartender both nights and she was the sweetest, very attentive and helpful with selections. This place seems very slow which concerns me since they just opened, I hope they have a ton of business on the weekends because it is too good to not be supported. My husband and I visited last week to the newer restaurant on Singer Island. The ambience is quite nice clean with new set ups, tables, wallpaper, paint, etc.. The service was spot on, our waitress was kind, considerate, honest, and did above and beyond what most waitresses will do. Here's where we get into a little bit of trouble with the food, we ordered three things had to send back two. Wow! We took a drive by the beach on a Sunday morning and found this place. We strolled in around 11:15 and were quickly seated as the first customers of the day. Or server Nina was super friendly and got us started. I had the Tuna Poke bowl and I have to say, one of the best I have had. Great sushi grade tuna and flavorful. I paired this with a Campfire Old fashioned. Very smooth drink with a toasted marshmallow on top. Definitely worth a try. read more

Okay... this place is going to be a hit. Part of me almost didn't want to write this review because as a local I'd still like to be able to get a seat at the bar. But credit where credit is due... they absolutely nailed it. The finishes and overall design are next level. There's honestly nothing else like it on the island. The Buccaneer is well done, but this is a step up in terms of polish and overall vibe. What really impressed me is the indoor-outdoor flow. A lot of places try to do this and it ends up feeling disconnected. Not here. The indoor bar flows right into the outdoor bar so the whole space feels breezy and open. It has that effortless coastal energy that you want when you're grabbing a drink by the water. The seating is high-end, the marble bar tops are beautiful, and the entire layout feels thoughtfully designed. Even the bar stations are perfectly positioned... the indoor station with all the accoutrements is literally steps from the outdoor bar. You can tell whoever designed this actually understood how a bar should function. The staff was upbeat, positive, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Yes, it's day two... but you would never know it. Service was attentive without being overbearing and there were multiple staff members checking in to see if we needed anything. The menu is surprisingly big and honestly everything sounded good. Burgers, ahi tuna nachos, coconut curry mussels, steak & arugula flatbread, raw bar, six unique salads, a Poké bowl, rock shrimp chowder, no less than nine handhelds, and then entrees to boot - there is more than something for everyone. And the food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. An avocado BLT passed by that looked like it was made with actual love... which is always the sign of a great chef. We did try the aji tuna nachos and they were fantastic. Fresh ahi tuna layered with seaweed salad, mango, corn, wasabi mayo, eel sauce, scallions, and avocado... every bite had a great balance of flavors. Creative, fresh, and easily one of the standout appetizers on the menu. The interior decor is beautiful, and the fire feature in the back adds a really nice upscale element. Bottom line... this place is going to be packed. And for once, the hype will actually be deserved. read more

Great new place! The Dunken Mussels were delicious and that smash burger was decadent. The fish and chips (just the fish) could have been crisper; the fries were amazing. First, the renovations and location are amazing. The food we order was phenomenal. The coconut shrimp Cobb salad was excellent and plentiful. Our server - Diamond - was top notch. Super friendly and helpful. The only (slight) disappoint was the wait for our drinks. The restaurant was less than 1/2 full but it still took 10 to 15 minutes for us to get a beer and an average 2 ingredient cocktail. I'm not mentioning this as a red flag for customers but instead as a caution flag for bar management to be aware of. Otherwise - I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Ocean Ave Bar & Kitchen is quickly becoming one of our new favorite dining spots. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and friendly from the moment we arrived. We chose to sit on the patio and loved the relaxed coastal atmosphere -- the seating was also surprisingly comfortable, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the evening. The menu has so many great options it was hard to decide. After hearing other tables rave about the appetizers, we ended up adding even more to our order -- and we're so glad we did. The rock shrimp chowder, octopus, hand-cut fries, and biscuits were all outstanding. I'm already craving the octopus again! For entrées, the grass-fed filet was cooked perfectly and paired beautifully with the heirloom carrots. The fried Bell & Evans chicken sandwich had an amazing crunch and flavor, and the rockfish with grits was absolutely delicious -- the kind of dish you just keep going back for. Only their second day into a soft opening. Excellent menu, a little different! Prices are reasonable for the area. Two couples shared crab cakes and a Cubano. Both Excellent. Very nice atmosphere. They recently opened. Singer island has been starving for a place like this. The chef really knows what he is doing. Fresh raw oysters, and the baked oysters were awesome. Grilled octopus cooked to perfection. Salmon dip was solid, just needed a little lemon which made it pop. Can't wait to go back and try some more entrees. Highly recommend. read more

Picked this based on positive reviews. Extremely disappointed. 1. Ordered a grey goose lemon drop martini. Watched the bartender use Tito's. Then watched her try the bev and realize it must have been terrible. Asked the other bartender to sample (all tasting with a straw, not complaining about contamination) other bartender added what I assume was simple syrup, they sampled and ok'd it for serving. Overall, lemon drop 5/10. 2. Oysters on the half shell were good, no complaints here. 8/10 3. Center cut filet had an off-putting flavor. Cooked well, poorly seasoned, and again just an "off" taste. 1/10 4. Ordered a Burrata Caprese sandwich. Was served sliced mozzarella - NOT BURRATA - with small cherry tomato's. Not sure if they tried to get one over on us, as when pointed out to the server was told "the menu changed." Manager proceeded to come over and offer a serving of Burrata. After 15 minutes, informed server we did not want the additional burrata. 1/10 5. Steak frites- likely the "best" meal on the table, although fries were not good. Steak was very dry and overcooked (asked medium rare, received medium -well to well done, but seasoned well. 5/10 based on steak flavor. 6. Mandarin-Ginger Salmon. This dish had neither mandarin nor ginger flavor, and no evidence of either anywhere on the plate. Was simply grilled with no seasoning, had absolutely no buerre blanc on the plate. Had I ordered simply grilled salmon this would have been acceptable. As this was not what I ordered- i would rate it 1/10. Zero flavor. 7. Salted Caramel cheesecake 9/10, very sweet but the dessert chef nailed this one. 8. Chocolate cake tasted store bought. Very dry, frosting was overly sweet with no real chocolate flavor. 3/10. Overall an extremely disappointing meal. Save your money and go to Castaways. Meal last night was superior to Ocean Bar & Kitchen if you can deal with the bar atmosphere. On the bill, they comped the sandwich but tried to charge for the burrata. I'm sorry- WHAT?? Server removed both sandwich (which had a single bite taken) and the burrata (which never even made it to the table) from the bill. Cost was in no way reflective of the food quality. Shameful. Server was kind, and was not responsible for the horrible food experience. Do not recommend and will never return. read more

If the bartender Remy isn't there the service is trash. Waited 10 whole minutes while all the bartenders serviced the inside bar while the outside customers were left unattended. A simple "Hello, I'll be right with you" would've been appreciated. Food is good and portions are big. Drinks are nice and very tasty. To start of, i want to say that i am super disappointed and offended by my experience tonight. food is terrible, i had to wait OVER 30 minutes for an overcooked rubbery steak that was stuck in-between my teeth for hours. i also overheard the management talking bad about one of their tables. this place is EXTREMELY unprofessional, its brand new and it looks like its being run by toddlers. I wasn't even going to write about the hair is my salad but since we are already here, might as well. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more
