I also loved the variety of beers that were there. Obviously, tons of IPAs but there were also stouts, amber ales, double IPAs, sours, and more! Great variety. Also loved that a few ciders made an appearance. I love finding a good cider! The food options were intriguing and covered quite the range of drink cravings. Also loved the water coolers where I could fill up my water bottle. It's important to stay hydrated while day drinking! Was kind of confused about how the drinking wasn't supposed to start until 3? I arrived shortly after 2pm and was able to check in, get my glass, and start drinking. I'm not complaining because it meant I had more time to explore and pace myself, but it was kind of confusing. Overall this was a fun event! Easy to get to (right off the Harlem stop on the Green line)! And well run! Definitely hope I can make it next year!

I…read morevolunteered at the event, which benefits Seven Generations to promote healthy eating in schools, and sustainable communities. While I had a fun interactive volunteering job of pouring cider and beer to happy review-goers, others made sure this was as close to a Zero Waste festival as possible. 74 breweries were a part of the 2014 review, with some taking part in a Replicale challenge, which gave them very specific guidelines for a red or amber ale. The 4-hour festival allowed plenty of time to drink and get your money's worth, and it takes place on the streets of downtown Oak Park, so you can take the Green Line in and not drive! (If you don't already live in lovely Oak Park). I "Untappd" so many beers I lost track, especially since so many of the Replicales weren't even on the grid yet. My favorite Replicales were by Lake Effect and Dryhop Brewery. My favorite regular brews were by Lake Effect, the Blind Pig, and Virtue Ciders. The festival had plenty of bathrooms, water stations to fill up your water bottle or wash out your tasting glass, but as far as being a "food review", a little more could be done to provide more, and more affordable food options. (ie. the $7 "half bratwurst" was more like ballpark prices!) This is definitely a festival to consider if you love Craft Brews in the summertime!

However, there is one rule that makes absolutely no sense: no professional photography allowed. Really? For parents trying to support their kids--especially those hoping to build highlight reels for college opportunities--this policy is extremely limiting. Not everyone can capture quality footage on a phone, and documentation is a crucial part of youth sports today. It's hard to understand why a top-tier facility would enforce a rule like this. It may actually hurt the very athletes the center is meant to support. Even more frustrating is how difficult it is to get in touch with management to ask questions or explore possible exceptions. Overall, a great facility undermined by a confusing and restrictive policy. Hopefully, this is something they reconsider.

My ticket was roughly $220 (with taxes) for the Cubs vs Twins game. If you have never been to a Wrigley Rooftops... I most definitely recommend giving it a try! Worth it maybe one. My grandpa joined Park Falls Masonic Lodge in 1952 and became a 33rd degree mason. Since then, my…read moregrandparents, mom, sister, and I have all been members of Masonic appendant organizations for adults and youth, so these groups hold a special place in my heart. This is a grand building in Jefferson Park! It was established in 1912. It would have been so interesting to see it in its heyday, but there are still several Masonic organizations that meet here. There's a two-story staircase outside but I don't think that is in use any longer, generally speaking. Whilst the Masonic bodies use this space for their meetings and events, I believe it is also available for rent by outside groups (as is common with Masonic temples). I've come here a few times for meetings of Betsey Ross Chapter and considered taking a dual membership, but at the time it was hard for me to commit especially since I had a commute that made meeting nights difficult. But it was nice to visit, and I enjoyed pro-temming once or twice. Parking is at a premium depending upon when or why you're here. There are a few spots at the building but to be honest I'm not sure that the parking lot belongs to the Temple, because when the temple was built it was next door to homes on both sides, so I think it's possible that the parking in fact belongs to the Secretary of State's office. Luckily, events that take place at the Masonic Temple don't tend to overlap too much with the SoS hours. There is some street parking nearby, and I'm not sure what the relationship is with the bank across the street but I think that parking is only for the bank/Gale Street Inn. But Jeff Park (the actual park) is about a block away so there's parking along the street there too. After the pandemic, where people were so isolated and whatnot, I think there remains a place for organizations like the Masons, Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, Elks, etc. It would be nice to see these organizations grow, and change, and experience a resurgence.

The front of the space is white with a lot of windows to allow in light for any event. The windows are lined with white, airy curtains that allow light in but give privacy to the attendees. There is a cool brick wall on one side of the space. The back portion of the space includes a kitchenette (no stove) and a space for all of the chairs/tables. A long hallway leads to the back entrance where the trashcans and recycling bins are located. The management includes cleaning supplies, a broom, trash bags, and a ladder. I loved the DIY nature of this rental. You can decide to bring in your own food or have it catered by any company you choose. Since the space is small it would work best for groups of 50 or less and even less depending on the type of seating. More layout and seating info on their site. Logistics- The management puts everything in writing and explains everything in detail so that the day of logistics is seamless. The bathroom is well stocked with toilet paper and hand towels. If you decide to have alcohol you must buy alcohol insurance (more info on their site). You cannot tack, velcro, or 3M stick to their walls. If you do so, there is a fine, or you can purchase more insurance to use whatever materials you want (more info on their site). You will also need to purchase event insurance. All info on their site and on the contract. You will need to clean the space after your event. However, management does have a cleaning crew come in before each event to clean up (so the space is clean for you when you arrive). A word of advice- 1) If you host in winter, you'll need an additional coat rack. 2) If you decide on half-day rental, give yourself enough time to organize, decorate, and clean up at the end. There was another event in the evening on when I hosted my shower and we hauled ass to get everything cleaned in time. 3) Not completely ADA accessible (there is one stair up through every door). However, the bathroom is large and fits a wheelchair. Also, our guest used the back entrance to bring her chair in. It worked well for her. All in all, I would recommend as a small events venue/space.

The room is essentially a blank slate, which allowed us to do the decorating we wanted. It's well-lit. It's incredibly well-priced and they allowed us to bring our own caterer and beverages. It was easy to plug a laptop into their sound system for our wedding and reception soundtrack, and our guests had a blast. The kitchen is a bit small but it worked fine for cold appetizers. Christina was very helpful in making it available for viewing numerous times. We will have beautiful memories of our wedding day forever, and working with Space 1858 was one of the easiest parts of planning the wedding--stress-free, which we really needed!

My elderly grandfather had to park three blocks away in order to get to his house on 45th and King drive. We have emailed them with no response. They should have a little more consideration for The neighbors that live there. Can you imagine shopping for groceries and you come home with your groceries and have to walk with them three or four blocks for a senior. We neighbors hate this place being here. They need a parking lot.

We were able to find parking nearby for free. Getting into the sangria fast was easy as we were able to scan our codes from evebtbrite. Upon entering we were given our sangria glasses, VIP identification and 5 samples of sangria off the bat. Once we were further into the festival, it was discovered that VIP identification had our punch card for redeeming drink tickets. There were several vendors and attendants including places to try sangria, beer, Goya products. We did get sample some really good white wine out of Italy from a wine tasting company. In addition to the sangria samples there were food vendors, live musicians and artistic items to purchase. After trying some of the samples we headed over to the VIP area which had its own pre-made bar set up. You could only use your VIP punch cards in the VIP area. Both my husband and I tried several different flavors of sangria. We both agreed that the pear was our favorite. A close second was probably the pomegranated or the mango sangria. Overall we had a good time but it may have been hard to justify the price tag for what you get. Just being in that neighborhood I think the regular admission price should be lower or there should be more samples. The view from the park was fantastic, we were able to see a part of the air and water show.
