Old school football stadium. Owned by Chicago Public Schools. Lots of public schools use this as their home field. It has charm but charm doesn't go very far when the facilities are getting run down. Parking is available in the lot but has no more than about 20 spots. No flag on the flagpole. Perhaps the locals steal it but if that is the case then the home team should bring a flag and raise it for the game. To Curie's credit, all of their players stood for the anthem. So all of the people in the stadium stared at a flagless flagpole during the anthem. The track around the field is in pretty bad shape so don't plan on hosting a meet here. The football field is in pretty good shape. It's grass but very playable. It would be nice to see the Board of Education reinvest some of the taxpayer's money into restoring this place to its former glory.

The event itself was awesome, the venue was just okay - there's not enough space to really move around - even if you sit at the reserved tables by the cage you're stuck in your spot - not recommended if you're chlostraphobic. The prices on concessions are reasonable - $7-$8 a beer, and parking is $10 in their parking lot but if you come early there is street parking available for free.

It's a Cicero Park District Fieldhouse...so yep, that's basically what it is like. They have a large, gated parking lot. The venue is easy to navigate and has plenty of parking at a cheaper rate than most stadiums. I took my guy to his first major league hockey game and we had a blast! It was very memorable and such a perfect way to end his first day in Chicago. I also couldn't believe my luck at finding an amazing Blackhawks leather jacket that was on sale!! Seriously couldn't believe my luck! Drinks and food are on par with other stadiums as far as price, quality, and options go. One of the cleaner stadiums I've been to as well.

I saw a Facebook ad for a combination goat hang out and brewery flight (via the Fever app "Brews and Baahhs"). My two favorite things!! (ha ha) So I bought the tickets and was not disappointed. It was one-hour with the goats, then you went to One Lake Brewing down the street afterward for a free flight (and we ended up buying dinner). The owner, David, was there and chit-chatted and answered some questions. Then did a few things around the property while we just hung out and petted the goats. I have never had such an up close and personal experience with a goat. They are a lot like dogs. They were hilarious and very affectionate. They wanted to climb all over us but we were prepared for that. It's a shame that David mentioned they might only be doing this for a year or two more. I'm sure it's a lot to maintain, especially during these crazy times. -But it's very covid safe. For what we did, you can wear your mask and you are left alone with the goats in a huge open pasture - so it's not a people-crowded event. I highly recommend it - it was a lot of fun. This is in the Austin neighborhood right next to Oak Park. I never realized I lived 10 minutes away from an urban farm my entire life! The chicken coops are at this address and then the yoga is down the alley in a field right by the firehouse. You can't miss it! They have the area fenced in with 20+ goats! I adore all animals and heard that goat yoga is a great way to relax and rid anxiety. I was fully present and in the moment when I was surrounded by these adorable goats. I will definitely recommend this to everyone who has never done goat yoga before. This was a more affordable option too! Usually if you go to goat yoga in the city tickets are around 50 dollars this is closer to 26 bucks! Not bad. Such a great time. David and Carolyn seem like the really take great care of their goats. David was telling me how a mother goat rejected her baby goat and they had to bottle feed the goat every four hours! They handled everything and the kids all had a blast. The young men who ran the party were great with the kids, making sure everyone had a good time. Lo and behold, I saw a Facebook event at Hamburger Mary's hosted by Studio 928 and knew I found my perfect match! The events are themed like no other I have ever seen: Prince, Whitney, Michael Jackson,etc. and I had to try it! Now yes, I am an artistic person : I took 4 years of art in high school and 1 in college. But that was a LONG time ago. And my strong areas were abstract, layout, airbrushing,etc NOT people,(and I really didn't do a lot of work with acrylic paint) so I knew it would be a challenge for me in that sense. But I wasn't going to be perfect, I was going for fun and a new experience. And that is exactly what I got! Cheryl is a blast! She has a fun personality and is SO knowledgeable , patient and helpful You are not going in just to paint, you are going in to learn. She shows you how to mix colours, how to do shading, how to work with the paints,etc. and is always going to each person helping them out, giving suggestions,etc And in between instructions, she's telling jokes, asking trivia questions and giving away prizes. She completely set the bar for me for paint parties and not only am I glad that my first experience with one was with her, I don't even want to go to any others! If you think that you cannot paint or are not artistic, you will completely surprise yourself with what you can do. Cheryl has a way of bringing out the artist in everyone! I had so much fun at my first party that as soon as I got home, I set up an event set up for the gym that I go. We had it today and everyone had a blast! They have different-sized theaters, so you don't always know which one you'll get, but every one I've been in has been great. The reclining seats are super comfortable with both cooling and heating, and the sound quality is excellent. I come here over bigger theaters every time because it's just a better overall experience. The bathrooms are always clean as well, which is a big plus.
