On the morning of service, Shane (15 years electrician) and Levi (7 years electrician) knocked it out in four hours. (And that included fixing a couple of minor problems, at no extra charge.) They were great (i.e. they put up with all my questioning). One star was removed for not contacting me that they were ready to install my new box until they were parked outside my gate. We've now had three unbelievable experiences with Dave from GP Plumbing. In our 50 year lives (30…read moreof them where we've had the chance to encounter plumbing issues), we've never encountered anyone like Dave. You might have a good experience once with with a contractor, maybe twice, but by the time you have a third amazing experience, you know you found a gem in the rough. We have many stories, but the latest is from the past couple days. There was water leaking through the wall (!!), Dave came over and quickly assessed what was going on. Then the next morning we saw that the situation has deteriorated and it was actually something affecting two separate units. This was on Saturday night and Sunday morning-- Dave was over in 20 minutes immediately on both days helping us mitigate the damage which was considerable but could've been much much worse. so now we're here on Sunday afternoon, Dave is replacing a water heater, mitigating water damage with eight fans running ... diagnosed the original source of the problem and documented it all on an SD card for us. The quick summary is that a clogged toilet led to thousands of dollars of damage. We're not happy about it, but now we know what happened, and in Dave's hands we're gonna get back to some sense of normalcy here soon. Dave puts his heart... And sweat... into his projects. He works his butt off - truly.

I called at 8:00 a.m. in mid May after discovering our A/C had stopped working overnight. I was…read moretold a technician would arrive sometime before 6:00 p.m., but to our surprise he arrived before noon. The service technician, Jammy, was knowledgeable, quickly diagnosed the issue, replaced the faulty part, and had our system running again in less than 45 minutes. We paid the quoted amount (which seemed a little high but everything is these days) and were very pleased with both the service and having cold air again. Unfortunately, the billing experience afterward was confusing and extremely frustrating. Later that afternoon, I received an invoice via email showing a balance that was $120 less than what we had already paid. When my husband called to ask about the discrepancy, he was told we were OVERcharged that morning and that they would send the tech back by to exchange our original check for a new one reflecting the lower amount. The technician never returned to exchange the checks, and two days later our original check was cashed. We called again and was told we would be issued a refund that would be mailed to us (that we never received). The next week we began receiving emails and text messages stating that we owed an additional $120. After MULTIPLE phone calls trying to sort things out and MULTIPLE explanations for all of the discrepancies, I finally spoke with the head of accounts receivable. I was then told that the original invoice had actually UNDERcharged us by approximately 50%, and that the company had decided not to pursue the additional amount because of all the confusion surrounding the billing. The repair itself was excellent, and Jammy provided prompt, professional service. However, the billing process was disorganized and irritating and because of that, we probably will not use again.

Okay I had several issues that more than one company refused to fix because mine was air duct…read morerelated and HVAC related and it was very time-consuming and I was told my attic was abnormally small so it was inconvenient to get the air duct fixed and they just didn't feel comfortable doing the work. Chris was called out to give an assessment and came up with the game plan and had his guys out here in two days . Now let me tell you I've had the worst time with my unit and my air ducts not blowing cold air somewhere blowing too cold and Eric and Eric came out.. Eric is the lead tech and tell you his professionalism is unmatched his knowledge and his field is commendable. He knows his stuff and he's damn good at it.. The job took less than eight hours for everything to be fixed same day. My house is fixed and I'm so grateful because this summer would have been miserable. I'm so blessed.!! I will continue Blessed and nobody else!!

I hate to leave a less than positive review as we absolutely feel Alcorn does high quality work for…read morea reasonable price, but in this instance we simply feel ripped off and will likely not make use of their services again We had Alcorn electric out here (as we have several times before) due to no power to a couple of our outlets. As always, they were professional, polite, and able to get us on the schedule quickly. (One of the outlets that was not working is the one that provides electricity to our tankless water heater). We are first time homeowners and admittedly unfamiliar with all things electric (hence the call to an electrician when we could not determine why several outlets were not working). We had tried the breakers but did not know/think to look for a tripped GFI switch. In less than 10 minutes, Alcorn head located the trip to GFI and push the button. We were then sent an invoice for $150.00 To say we were shocked was an understatement we absolutely appreciate that time is money and have no problem paying for peoples time and professional services.... but in this instance to maintain $150 callout fee when the work required was simply to locate and reset a GFI switch left a very bad taste in our mouths. Even a reduced fee would have been more decent in our opinion. As I mentioned, this is not in any way a reflection on the quality of work and professionalism that Alcorn provides. They have done substantial jobs for us in the past and we have been nothing but pleased. Unfortunately this last encounter has left us searching for a new electrician for future jobs. Alcorn appears to have many positive reviews- all deserved. I am certain this won't impact their business, nor should it. We were just caught off guard by the charge and after asking others in the community their opinion- all were in agreement so we opted to share our experience.
