TL;DR - Not impressed by being lied to multiple times and now I am sitting on a time bomb…read more I had a breaker replaced in my house in 2024 that was upgraded to a 30A non-GFCI breaker from a 15A GFCI breaker. This change in amperage obviously concerned me and my initial ask was to get a quote to run a new circuit for the high-draw equipment I was looking to install. The contractor they sent out took a look at the breaker box and assured me that all I would need to do is replace the breaker with a higher rated breaker. I asked the contractor multiple times if the cables on that circuit could handle the much higher load and I got the same assurance each time. Imagine my surprise when I had an electrician from another company come out for a separate issue, take one look at the breaker box, and tell me that the circuit is only rated for 20A. No need to imagine, because that is exactly happened. Now I am sitting on a potential time bomb with the only good solution being to disconnect and relocate my high-draw equipment and have a new costly circuit installed while not having access to my equipment. If you still want to have this company work on your house, be sure to snap a picture of their license so you can show the insurance company who to go after when your under-rated cables melt and catch fire.

One indoor fan which has slowed down needed to be looked at if the capacitor needed to be changed. He couldn't find the capacitor & had to reassemble the fan light back. End of it, I paid $410.

As always, they were professional, polite, and able to get us on the schedule quickly. (One of the outlets that was not working is the one that provides electricity to our tankless water heater). We are first time homeowners and admittedly unfamiliar with all things electric (hence the call to an electrician when we could not determine why several outlets were not working). We had tried the breakers but did not know/think to look for a tripped GFI switch. In less than 10 minutes, Alcorn head located the trip to GFI and push the button. We were then sent an invoice for $150.00 To say we were shocked was an understatement we absolutely appreciate that time is money and have no problem paying for peoples time and professional services.... but in this instance to maintain $150 callout fee when the work required was simply to locate and reset a GFI switch left a very bad taste in our mouths. Even a reduced fee would have been more decent in our opinion. As I mentioned, this is not in any way a reflection on the quality of work and professionalism that Alcorn provides. They have done substantial jobs for us in the past and we have been nothing but pleased. Unfortunately this last encounter has left us searching for a new electrician for future jobs. Alcorn appears to have many positive reviews- all deserved. I am certain this won't impact their business, nor should it. We were just caught off guard by the charge and after asking others in the community their opinion- all were in agreement so we opted to share our experience.

We bought a home in Flower Mound and I contacted Charlie Brown for the installation of 8 tvs and…read moreseveral Sonos products. I looked at his reviews and they all seemed good from his customers so I had no doubt in hiring his company. I met Charlie and he asked for a favor if I could purchase the TV's and the Sonos from him as he can match the prices I received and it would help him with his sales. I obliged but to only find out that after purchasing them, the pricing on the tv's went down a couple weeks later (at this point they were all at his location and not installed). He gave me an attitude and said once they are purchased he couldn't match the price and I proceeded to tell him I would return them and buy them somewhere else. Finally he said he could do it. Charlie gave me a price "not to exceed a certain amount of money to install the tvs and several Sonos systems". He arrived the first day, installed the large 100" and then he left for another appointment and had his helper install the rest of the tvs upstairs . Two days later, he came back and installed the other 2 large tvs and hooked up only 2 Sonos systems. He quoted me 245/hr for 2 men. He still charged me when he left early the first day, on his Invoice he said he was here a certain day and worked 8 hours (he didn't) and that particular day my hardwood floors were being refinished and there was nobody allowed in the house. With the miscalculeted hours, the numerous cigarette breaks he took in front of my house, I learned that this guy is not about customer service, he is about getting in and getting as much money as he can from the customer and not even finishing his work. I have wires hanging down from the tvs, tvs that are not level and 2 of the tvs that have apple boxes that were suppose to be installed behind the tvs are actually hanging over the tvs at this very moment. I contacted Charlie a week ago after his shoddy work and fabricated hours for the warranty cards, the manuals for the items I purchased. Between the Sonos and the TVS alone I spent over 25K and 2 days of labor was 3400.00, so almost 30K was spent and I have not heard from Charlie since this request. Don't be fooled by this con-artist and the reviews he has on here, if anyone wants to see the pictures, the receipts of the Invoices, the emails sent to him, please reach out. I want everyone to be aware that this guy is not who he says he is. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

I told Jerry I was very flexible on scheduling since I'm retired. My flexibility was put to the test. On the morning of service, Shane (15 years electrician) and Levi (7 years electrician) knocked it out in four hours. (And that included fixing a couple of minor problems, at no extra charge.) They were great (i.e. they put up with all my questioning). One star was removed for not contacting me that they were ready to install my new box until they were parked outside my gate. Fortunately, I was home and available. Great work! I will be using them again to wire my barn. Highly recommended by me.
