Instead of listening to my symptoms and concerns, the doctor accused me of wanting a root canal and insisted my pain was due to an ear infection. They performed a sensitivity test, noted my tooth was only minimally reactive, and used that as "proof" that nothing was wrong with it. I sat in the exam chair crying while the doctor and staff reassured me that the root canal I supposedly "wanted" wasn't necessary. At the time, I was already on antibiotics for an ear infection--which I later learned was actually caused by my tooth infection--yet they did not prescribe anything additional or treat the source of the infection. I was told to simply "call back in a month." After enduring the pain and the doctor's dismissive, demeaning behavior, I decided to book an appointment at the Stoughton Endodontic Center instead. They ran the exact same sensitivity test, but this time the provider diagnosed nerve damage and confirmed I needed an emergency root canal. The infection had progressed so far that it had spread into my sinus. Because of the delay in treatment, I am now dealing with lasting effects--a year later, I still experience mild episodes of sinus pressure that began during the infection. This experience was not only unprofessional but potentially dangerous. Dental providers should listen to patients, take their pain seriously, and investigate symptoms thoroughly instead of dismissing them. I would strongly caution others before seeking care here.

The office is run by Dr. Bandoni's lovely wife, Mary. They have a technician, Lacy, who has been there for years. This is a true mom & pop practice. They are very warm and caring with their patients and will move appointments around to accommodate patients with dental emergencies. I used to go every 6 months for cleanings but due to financial constraints, had not been to the dentist for 8 years. That said, I have been blessed with healthy teeth and try to do my part so I have never had any cavities. He only charged $140 for a very thorough cleaning - a deep scraping, examination and polishing/ cleaning. My gums have been sensitive lately and he showed me that I had not been properly brushing at the gum line and the dispensible dental floss holders I had been using were not properly hugging the teeth and had caused minor issues. He did not try to up charge me and said I can hold off on xrays given the overall health of my teeth. Dr. Bandoni is a thorough dentist who cares about his patients and is funny and entertaining to boot. I have not gone to him for extensive work as I have not needed it but for normal maintenance, he is very thorough and his fees are reasonable/ comparable to other local dentists. I have had other dentists in the past who charged more (one dentist in Norwell charged me $50 to meet with him for 5 minutes after I got hit in a car accident and had broken a tooth on impact and he could not do an exam because my mouth was so swollen...but could charge $50 for 5 minutes of his "time" despite the fact I had gone to him for years) and pushed me through like an assembly line and he is a welcomed change from past dentists.

The person working the front desk gave confusing and unclear information, was so rude on the phone and is seemingly holding my dental records hostage claiming they are booked through August yet at the same time the office is closed until September. Makes sense. The entire office is covered in plastic wrap and plants.. it's extremely unsettling. The dentist was insisting that I got a procedure done where I would be under laughing gas and was OK with the fact that I would have to drive home after. When I let them know that financially I wasn't unable to do the procedure I was then given a QR code for me to scan and open a credit card while I was sitting in the chair. As someone who had previous dental anxiety, this has only heightened the feeling. I hope to God people don't make the same mistake that I do and choose this dental office because you see Hanover and associate it with a good town. I had my teeth cleaned at Dentists of Hanover three years ago. My teeth are so nice now!! My only regret is I have Masshealth and I wish I could go back. I don't have a full-time job, so I don't have dental insurance that is good. Every time I drive past Dentists of Hanover I think how clean my teeth are to this day!! They did a great job. Dr. Ibrahim isn't there anymore but he did a great job, too. They raise money for poor, international people who need their teeth done. I sure wish they'd consider accepting Masshealth.
