When I presented my question to the front desk attendant she immediately said the person that handles "that" is not here. But, she went on to increase the tone of her voice while attempting to explain the way billing works. I asked her not to raise her voice at me as I simply asked a question. (I was sure to be respectful in my tone and volume as I, too, work in the medical field and understand customers receive varying receipts and EOB's. Also, other customers were in the waiting area and could hear everything.) I simply had a question about my portion of the payment. Another employee standing to the right of the desk attendant heard this exchange and rolled her eyes. So, my only concern is for front area staff to routinely receive customer service training classes and be continually reminded by an office manager how to respond professionally to customers that pay hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars that eventually pay their salary. IMO poor customer service is what harms all businesses and especially the small business owner.

The nurse was so exceptional at explaining everything to me and showing me the various tools they use ahead of time. The doctor is the first dentist who has never hurt me with a needle- I barely felt anything if at all. I think a bee sting would feel worse, or a splinter. I have had paper cuts hurt worse. That stunned me. The procedure on a back molar was efficient and very systematic, for what it was-- I really did not need to worry as much as I did; it is just like a filling. The Dr was also good about letting me know what he was about to do, and what step of the process he was in. I appreciated seeing the work on the x ray afterwards and hearing that, even with a crack in my back lower molar, the process turned out perfectly. The first was a horrible experience; the 2nd I believe the doctor (now retired) diagnosed the wrong tooth since the pain never subsided. As you could imagine, on this visit I was a little reluctant and very skeptical, if not bordering on sarcastic, when Dr. Ibukun O. Olagbemi (AKA Dr. "O") enter the room. I was prepared for war, however Dr. O's bedside manner and soothing tone quickly changed my mood. As I explained my past experiences she spent additional time diagnosing where the pain was originating from. Much to her chagrin it turned out the source of the pain was deep in a tooth that was two teetch removed from where I reported the pain. Over the past two years no one was able to locate the source of this pain. The X-rays did not show anything, and the exterior of the tooth had no defects. Dr. O is very skilled, I was shocked when she indicated she was already done. I enjoyed the dialogue between her and her awesome assistant during the surgery. I had very little pain the days following the surgery. Therefore I needed very little medication for pain relief. If you are fortunate enough she may even serenade you with her beautiful voice as she did me.

I made an appointment with Dr. Henry Rankow. Went today at 9am. Scared to death. Survived the needle stick relatively well. Dr. Rankow took his time injecting the novacaine. He is a super friendly, kind individual. It was a relatively painless procedure. I was done in around 45 mins. It is 9:31 pm now and I've had no pain. I have to go back for a second root canal in another tooth in November and having been there once now, I am much more relaxed about returning. The staff are friendly and his chair side assistant was very kind and knew exactly what the dr was doing at all times and was ready with the equipment and supplies needed in a flash. The cost for the root canal was $650.00. I got a 5% discount for paying by check or cash. Please ask your dentist to refer you to this practice if you need endodontic work.

After being in pain all weekend, I made an emergency dentist appointment that resulted in a referral to ARCS. The office offered to call for me and I was told I could come right then. For context, my dentist appointment was at 3:20pm and roughly by 3:40pm I was headed to ARCS. The office is clean and the front desk staff were helpful and professional. I overheard one team member speaking to another patient in Spanish so it's nice to know the environment is accessible and inclusive in this regard as well. I was called back after a short wait and X-rays were taken. Dr. Fakhari then arrived to perform some tests (these suck but are necessary to confirm a root canal is the right treatment) but before the test began he spent time speaking with me and had, quite possibly, the most pleasant, patient, and caring demeanor of any endodontist I've ever met (yes, unfortunately I have seen down this road more than once). When I was weeping during the numbing process, the aide whose name I believe was Alyssa, kindly comforted me, provided tissues, etc. Dr. Fakhari also took things very slow and checked in often. They were both very reassuring. I don't think it's possible to enjoy anything about a root canal so the fact that every other aspect of the experience is positive (including noise canceling headphones, a blanket, and Spotify) means so much.
