I had a follow up procedure and applaud Dr Curtis and his surgical staff for an excellent…read moreexperience. However, upon arrival I presented my dental insurance "explanation of benefits" and previous receipts as there appeared to be a discrepancy, and dental offices always seem to estimate the customer payment portion when services are rendered. When I presented my question to the front desk attendant she immediately said the person that handles "that" is not here. But, she went on to increase the tone of her voice while attempting to explain the way billing works. I asked her not to raise her voice at me as I simply asked a question. (I was sure to be respectful in my tone and volume as I, too, work in the medical field and understand customers receive varying receipts and EOB's. Also, other customers were in the waiting area and could hear everything.) I simply had a question about my portion of the payment. Another employee standing to the right of the desk attendant heard this exchange and rolled her eyes. So, my only concern is for front area staff to routinely receive customer service training classes and be continually reminded by an office manager how to respond professionally to customers that pay hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars that eventually pay their salary. IMO poor customer service is what harms all businesses and especially the small business owner.

My dentist sent me there saying he was a friend and had a 3d x-ray. The doctor was very…read moreprofessional but I could hear giggling and carrying on in the front on the office. The doct did take several x-rays before doing a very expensive root canal. I have other root canals in the past but I had a lot of pain after this root canal. After going to my own dentist several times in the next 5 months and having to go to my family doctor and also pulmonologist because I kept getting sinus infection, ear infection, bronchitis, and a constant headache all on one side of my head I finally went to a different dentist only to find out the root on that tooth had crack the whole way down the side. My tooth had to be pulled. So much for that 3d x-ray machine.

If I could rate this with zero stars I would. This was previously a great dental office. I'm not…read moresure what caused the change, but now you cannot get anyone to answer the phone. Receptionists are rude and the business manager is exceptionally unprofessional. My daughter had a tooth replaced. Not only did this practice drag out the procedure into six appointments over the period of seven months, but they changed the cost of the procedure three times. This procedure wasn't covered by our dental insurance. We paid out of pocket. Our insurance company has indicated that this is a predatory practice used to garner more money from a patient. To top this all off I was texted on a Sunday morning from the dentist's personal number to "remind" me of an appointment for the following morning that I wasn't even aware of - barely giving me 24 hours notice. Because I declined without giving them 24 hours notice they have charged me a $100 cancellation fee. This dentist is an unethical Creeper. PAXTON FAMILY DENTAL is NOT ACCREDITED by the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

I've read the positive reviews on here and they are all copy and paste jobs from the 'write a review' website. This laziness alone supports my opinion. I'd honestly rather have my teeth rot and fall out than go to PFD ever again. Deets needs to feel the financial pinch at a minimum. lawsuits and loss of license for abuse at a maximum. Deets is the one who needs to "change his ways."

I'm pretty scared of dentists. And in my life I've seen some dentists who are pretty shady. But I…read morefinally found one I can trust and that means a lot. My kids had gone to a dentist who told me that my son had 6 cavities and they were "so bad" that he needed to be put to sleep to fill. Now this was stunning to me because even though my kids are kids, we instill proper dental hygiene with them with twice daily brushing, flossing, and mouthwash. HOW could a little kid have teeth this bad?? My first cavity didn't come until I was well into my 20s. This was cause for concern. We decided to not go back to that dentist and start fresh. We came here and didn't say a word about our past experience. We figured if two dentists told us the same thing then I guess we just had been doing something wrong on our end. So here we were. The office was very clean and bright and the staff was friendly. They have an ipad system for registration and an old school video game for the kids to enjoy while we waited. Another good thing about this place is that they have evening hours which is good for working people and also good when trying to take 2 kids at once because we don't have to pull the kids out of school and both parents can come too! So they called us back and I went with my son and my husband went with my daughter. The hygienist for us was very nice and very good at explaining things to us and putting my mind at ease (since I was little apprehensive after our first child dental experience) and she was very good with the kids. They got some xrays and a cleaning and after the cleaning Dr. Ditty came back to do his thing and tell us what's what. He's a very down to earth guy who is obviously a family man which I like and respect. He's easy to talk to as well and was good about answering any questions. Turns out the kids had one cavity each. ONE! Not ideal I know, but better than 6. And they said "Good thing we caught it early so we can take care of it before it gets bad" BIG difference from having to be put to SLEEP. So weeks later we returned for our cavity fills. No novocaine was needed and it was quick and painless. The staff was still friendly and nice and really eased my anxiety leading up to these cavity fills. Dr. Ditty is wonderful! Phew!!! We have found our dentist!
