Interesting..... Never knew about this Supermarket located on Robson. The supermarket is somewhat hidden. B and I walked in to see what they have for sale. I was excited to find out that they have a hot food section that is decently priced. The store is very well stocked. The meat and produce were very fresh. I bought some smoke squid in a package and they were very fresh. I guess they have high turnover on their produce, meat, dried items and snacks. Overall, happy to come across Hannam Supermarket.

Came across the Hannam Supermarket today and I was pleasantly surprised! It's located in a central area of Downtown. They sell a wide selection of products/groceries too. Great place to grab a quick lunch since they have prepared bento style lunch boxes, Korean fried chicken, and fresh made to order sushi rolls ($6.95). Awesome place to pick up lunch for $10 or less. A good alternative if you want to pick up some food and don't want to walk to the other side of Robson street to H Mart

I am so excited this opened up near me! This is a smaller Hannam Korean supermarket with produce, dry goods, and frozen foods that also has some ready prepared foods - Korean soups, fried chicken, rice cake, cooked pork feet, beef bibimbap bowls. It's in the 2nd floor space where I have seen a number of restaurants come and go quickly - I hope this supermarket is here to stay. So far I have only tried their sushi bar (refrigerated section of take and go sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri (including creative rolls and aburi sushi!) and what I have tried so far is pretty good! The torched toro (tuna belly) had a nice mild smokiness to it, and the sauces were not overpowering. I also tried a delicious fresh aburi salmon belly nigiri. The salmon avocado roll is good, pretty fresh, with a good ratio of salmon to rice. Come check this place out, it's awesome!

So if you buy these today (April 23rd) and all you get is broken pieces... It's because half were intentionally dropped on the floor.

Cashier and manager were very rude. If you are not Korean, they are suspicious of you by watching you and make you feel unwelcome.

I'm from the Bay Area and we have our fair share of Japanese grocery stores (shout out to Niiya in Japantown in San Francisco) but I was very excited to see the selection here. Definitely came across items I've never seen before like a Takoyaki flavored Ramune. It was extremely discounted just fyi probably for good reason. They even had Japanese canned drinks stored hot like in Japan! The take away Japanese desserts also looked good. This place is right on Robson street so a great place to grab a snack, drink, pick me up while shopping. Prices seemed reasonable. One caveat is that it can get busy in here and the aisles are small so it felt a little crowded but that's sort of like Japan as well lol so not a big deal for me. Added to the ambience. Checkout was quick and easy!

It sounds crowded - and it is - but once you push your way to the back of the store, you'll find a tiny Japan tour travel agency and a shelf of clearance items at rock-bottom prices. Service is cheerful, personable and brisk. The store also houses a takeaway crepe and ice cream shop - the crepes are actually better than the ones I've had in Tokyo.

i stopped by hmart at the corner of robson and seymour, and it's one of those places that feels…read morelike it's doing a lot at once, but it works. it runs 9am to 10pm, 365 days a year, and you really get the sense of it being a hard working, always on kind of store. it spans two levels, with a main ground floor and an escalator up to the second floor, so it feels more like a compact vertical mall than a typical grocery stop. the ground floor leans heavily into kbeauty and lifestyle. there's makeup, skincare, fashion, luggage, and accessories, cuteness overload, all mixed together in a way that's easy to browse. the layout is compact (very downtown), but it adds to the energy. they've also got artbox items and a surprising amount of canadian souvenir goods, which gives it a slightly tourist friendly feel. interestingly, no bts merch in sight, maybe due to their hiatus? kpop music videos play on screens above us, full choreography and colour coordinated outfits adding constant movement while you browse. it makes even a quick stop feel a bit more alive. medicube on sale was tempting, and i'll probably look into it more later, mostly to justify whether i actually need it. one thing that stands out pretty quickly is how direct they are about shoplifting. for a store open every day of the year, you get the sense they've had to deal with it more than most. the signs with photos of shoplifters paired with police file numbers are very clear, and security is visible as soon as you enter. it takes a certain level of boldness to be that upfront about it, and instead of softening the message, they've chosen to address it head on. it shifts the tone, but it also makes their stance unmistakable. heading up the escalator to the second floor, the focus shifts to groceries. there's a small food court, along with housewares, a lottery kiosk, and everyday grocery staples, all tucked into the flow of the space. it's easy to lose a bit of time just moving between sections. from there, the snacks section does what it does best. they have hello kitty kikkoman soy sauce, roasted sweet potatoes, pouch drinks with separate ice cups, and a solid selection of ready to eat meals. on this visit, i ended up buying two new flavours of turtle chips: wagyu beef with wasabi and carbonara spicy chicken. priorities. they also have a stamp card system, collect ten stamps and you get a $25 hmart gift card, which feels like a quiet nudge that you'll probably be back anyway. overall, it's a high energy, well contained space: part grocery store, part beauty shop, part snack discovery zone, with a hardworking downtown rhythm and a very clear sense of how it runs.

All of our family felt it tastes old and not very sweet. This is not the first time with fruits. Veggies are better but a miss once in a while as well.
