This supermarket was close to our hotel during a recent trip to Vancouver. It's large, clean, and has a wide selection. We checked out the food court, which offers a variety of hot food options. We visited during breakfast and tried the dim sum, pastries, and steamed buns, along with some hot soy milk. There's a small seating area with tables and chairs. Went here to get the viral peach ice cream. There is plenty of parking there. If you can't find a space on the first floor you can go up to the parking lot area. All you have to do is go on the elevator to get down to the supermarket. There are yummy samples inside the supermarket which we got to try instant ramen at their stand. They take covid-19 safety protocols seriously. Besides the usual social distancing reminders and mask wearing, they also want customers to wear disposable plastic gloves. They provide the gloves at the entrance and customers are expected to wear them before entering. This place is huge and can be overwhelming. There are lots of items from East/Southeast Asia and are indicated above the aisles. They stock foodstuff which may not be commonly found in the other grocery stores. So give this place a try if there is something specific you are looking for. Like most stores, you could also get household/kitchen stuff and cleaning products too. Good place to shop. read more

I have been to this place BEFORE it became FOODY WORLD. Just like the previous store, absolutely not enough staff. There are literally only 3 cashiers tills open. Each line up is over 20+ customers. Definitely NO REPEAT place for me to go to. I saw no staff member stocking shelves, and lots of boxes loose on the floor, mind you this was in the evening, so maybe it might be better in the day. With Asian Markets almost saturated in Richmond, competition is always fierce! Foody World has been added to my list of "Go-to" Asian Supermarket, and up till now it has always been good with both quality of their produce and their prices! I also make a point to get fruits and vegetables from Foody World as I find the freshness to be superior compare to similar markets. They separate their aisles into various streets such as 'snack street' which is my fav. You'll find many products not found at other Asian stores. This place is a solid 4+ stars for me. Because I'm surprised that it's only at a 3 stars overall currently, I'm bumping it up to a solid 5. First, this is an Asian market. In it, you'll find aisles and aisles marked as noodles, or tea, or Korean, or Vietnamese, or snacks, etc. They have fresh seafood tanks in the back, frozen selections, produce, and non-food items such as kitchen goods. For Chinese New Year, they also have a vast selection of decorations, food treats, and food gift sets. Their selection is impressive and comprehensive. For the most part, the prices seem to be very reasonable, generally less than T&T Supermarket. They "seem" to have more items from China and southeast Asia; these items tend to have a lower cost. When I was at T&T, there was a sizable Japanese treats just at the front which are almost always more spendy. I suspect one can find most if not all things one wants from Foody World. And if you want cherry blossom flavored Pocky, then go to T&T. ;) As a side note, I'm still cautious about packaged foods from China after all the fake food scare there. At Foody World, I would pay attention to that. read more

I heard Foody world from Toronto. It's one of biggest Chinese supermarket at East coast. They are huge and you can spend an hour to shop what you need. If you're on budget or look for good deal. As Asian markets go, Foody World is impressive, it excels in all but one area, unlike most ethnic markets their prices aren't cheap, however, this place is as big as Costco, and products to rival any supermarket traditional or ethnic, it's modern, clean, bright, spacious, and well organized. Aisles are arranged by country, Japanese Street, Korean Kitchen Street, Philippine street, Taiwan Snack street, etc, their bakery is larger than many supermarkets and so is the fresh produce section. I am familiar with Foody marts in Toronto, but this is new in Vancouver/Richmond, Hope they expand south of the border. read more

I love this place!!!! after this place opened my family has forsake T&T and come here for all grocery instead. Their seafood selection is especially fresh; I highly recommend buying crabs from this grocer. Furthermore they have a fantastic selection of Asian snacks. I love instant milk tea and coffee, and pineapple cake and chocopie. They got it all here. It makes me homesick for my hometown a bit. Located directly across the street from the Hampton Inn in Richmond. Our first night in Canada, we got in pretty late and were glad this place was close by our hotel and still open (I think they close at midnight). Huge Asian supermarket with tons of stuff and lots to look at. Fresh produce, snacks, groceries galore. My only gripe is how they've organized the store in regards to beverages. Perhaps there's some method to their madness but it's extremely confusing to me to have different beverages located in like 5+ different areas of the store. You've got the refrigerated juices in the back right, milk in the back middle, Asian bottled drinks in a couple aisles in different directions to the left and right, bottled water in the back right, soda in another separate aisle (nowhere near the other beverage aisles) and so on.... I was just looking for a gallon of spring water to fill our water bottles and walked the store for what seemed like forever, trying to find where the bottled water could be. Never did find a gallon of water. Maybe Canadians don't buy gallons? :P Picked up a case of bottled water but really didn't want to deal with so many plastic bottles. But beggars can't be choosers and we needed water, so I lugged it to the front. Asked an employee if they sold bigger bottles and she assured me they did. She said "In the back by the milk" so I lugged the case of water back again to the back. Searched the milk section and vicinity, didn't see any larger waters. Decided maybe she meant the 1 or 1.5 liter bottles, since technically they are bigger. (maybe gallon bottles aren't available in Canada?) Took two bottles to the front and checked with the employee if these were what she was talking about. She said they were. So I guess I wasn't able to find a gallon of water because it wasn't something they sold. They don't do cash back here either. I had hoped to get some Canadian cash that way but no such luck. Ended up going to the Vancouver Bullion and Currency Exchange instead, which was perfect. read more

Before Foody World open at this location, it was another supermarket. That other supermarket lasted less than 6 months and went bankrupt. I can see why. Location plays a big role in this picture. I mean its out of the way for lots of people. As well, its not easy to find the entrance into the parking lot. Therefore, I see another fail supermarket. Unless they do something else to turn it around. I went after dinner time and it was quiet and empty. If you compare it to the other Chinese supermarket like T&T or Osaka, they are super busy at 9 ish. Foody World was quiet. Look at my photos and you will know what I mean. The supermarket is huge and isle are wide for walking in. Its clean and organize. However, I am reluctant to buy meat here because I don't know if its fresh due to the amount of people who shop here. Foody World or Foody Mart is a Toronto Chinese Supermarket Chain. They are quite successful in Toronto and they are expanding to Vancouver. Vancouver may be a harder market to penetrate in for them. I mean T&T and Osaka or Loblaw has pretty much dominated the Vancouver market. Good Luck Foody World. I won't come here often. read more

Another asian market to compete against the other double T. Lots of great deals on store especially for fruits, produce and meats. Their products are focused on Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino products. Price is reasonable. It would be 4 stars but they removed their cook food section. read more

Great selection on produce and fruit, good prices too. Prefer this store to TnT or Osaka market. Caters more to cantonese preferences than to mandarin tastes. If you spend some time looking, there r lotsa goods from Hong Kong too. Unlike other stores that r infiltrated with Made In China canned/pkged items. Love their upstairs easy parking. I hope this Listeria bug scare would heighten awareness for all the Chinese grocery stores.....could still remember years ago buying cooked cold plates from Osaka/TnT and whole family had diarrhea! I was recommended by a friend to go shop for Asian food/snacks. They got a great selection of food there and the price is very reasonable. I'm not sure how good/bad their service is because I didn't need help from them. The cashier lineup was too bad. I'll definitely shop there again. read more

From an organization perspective, that's why they get a 2-star rating: they organize products by country of origin! How crazy is this: if you want snack foods, you have to go to 3 or 4 different aisles/sections: Korean, chinese, Japanese, Filipino...you get the drift. But I play nice, it's a 4 banger for having the LATEST closing hours for Asian supermarkets: midnite! Safe to say at this late time, only 1 checkout was open...c'mon, there's still at least 25 shoppers roaming around. Well lit, lots of space. Found certain meats were more expensive than T&T, but generally, good prices. At least they dont charge you for plastic bags. Surface as well as upstairs parking, accessible by elevator, yay. Appreciate its own corner for health products, ginseng, etc, in the front corner left upon entering. Clean washrooms on the right, by the bakery. Quiet action seating for the food court. read more

I have shopped here for the last time. While the selection of merchandise is pretty good, the service is too poor for my liking. I have shopped here about 6 times. The fastest I have ever been able to check out is about 15 minutes as there are only 4-5 cashiers working. Yesterday around noon, it took exactly 1 hour from getting in a long lineup to reaching a cashier. If management can't properly staff this store, it should have enough sense to invest in self checkout counters to provide some customer service. Until then, I will not be shopping here any longer. read more

Originally, our first time here it was crazy busy and we did buy veggies, which were used, but we didn't buy any cooked meat. Almost did, but didn't. And we thought of buying meat at the fresh meat counter, but it was crazy with the lineups. It must've been THAT cheap!. The dried goods were ok. We bought them and have used some of them. No worries there. However just shortly afterwards we heard of the stories on the news.......... So we were lucky I guess. but because of that, won't be coming back. In fact, I'll shop less at Chinese stores that I'm not sure about and stick with TNT or Superstores, Safeways etc. We don't buy much meat anyways and if we do, it won't be here. read more
