I went back yesterday, on my three-week anniversary of my first set of Gel-Xs and asked for hard gel instead. The set looks fine so far, but I was in for a shock when I went to pay. There was an additional $20 charge to take off the Gel-X nails. The cat-eye polish went from $15 to $20 in 3 weeks (not worth it, if you ask me). In fairness, I got a basic pedicure too, for $35. Those are always good. But the receptionist rang up a bill for $150! I protested as Ninjee had said she would give me a discount and the receptionist lowered it to $135. What made the situation worse was not just the behavior itself, but how it was handled. Another employee inserted herself into the situation in a way that felt mocking and confrontational, all while services were being performed in front of clients. One client even apologized to me afterward out of embarrassment. This was not an isolated issue. Previously, I referred my employee to Nail Garden, where she left an appointment with multiple cuts to her fingers and was told the injuries were her fault. While management later accommodated her with a different technician, the original employee involved remained, and the underlying behavior appeared unaddressed. I raised my concerns directly with ownership, hoping for accountability and meaningful change. While apologies were offered, the responses focused on reassurance rather than clearly addressing the conduct or the pattern behind it. After years of loyalty, I no longer felt confident that client safety, boundaries, and professionalism were being prioritized.
