Glad they're back in the area though. I feel the need to mention the bad and rude behavior of some of the fellow customers who stop by for lunch here. I have experienced people cutting in line without apologizing during the lunch rush (I get it, you're in a rush to get back to the office but so is everyone else) or asking if you're in line & seen entitled behavior that is a bit ridiculous for a lunch spot, talking down to the workers, eye rolling, non tippers making 2-4x what the cashiers make, etc... I don't know what's going with the office workers here playing The Hunger Games during their lunch break but it shouldn't be hard for adults to act like adults/ decent human beings but for some it is unfortunately... it puts me off from going to this location more often. read more

You can smell the pretzels from halfway across the food court here, which turned out to be a solid marketing strategy. The menus were on screens and not all visible at once. I spent $422 on a corporate lunch and did not receive all of the items that I paid for. I received a confirmation email with a list of all the items that I ordered and still did not receive those items. When I came back to the store during my lunch meeting, I was told that I still had to pay for the additional salad that is already listed on my receipt as paid for. After leaving this review that Owner Florian continued to email me, harrassing me about their policy, instead of admitting the online ordering system is flawed and should have not allowed me to add items that were not optional. Florian was so out of line, I had to tell him to practice restraint as a business owner and leave me alone. I will never go back here. And they double charged me for my order. Felt like the bread was as wide as an Olive Garden breadstick. Soup was dope and probably would just get two soups and share one sandwich next time. That said, they're quite small and rather expensive. In Chicago, a place with nearly the highest sales tax in the US, the sandwich better be large and hearty. Now, prices of sandwiches at local sandwich establishments will be higher than chains, and of course, you should support local. BUT, this is a once in an extremely blue moon type of place. I got the Hannah's Classic Club that had turkey, bacon, red onions, tomatoes, cheddar, and a delicious dijonaise. (& usually I don't even like mayonnaise!) My sandwich also came with house chips that are ruffled kettle chips with sea salt & black pepper. The chips added a nice crunch to the soft bun. The environment here is pretty laid back and they also have outdoor seating for when it is warm. This is one of my fav breakfast spots because in the nice weather, I can sit outside with my dog, and when it's cold, I can tie her up outside quickly and its away from the street/sidewalk so I dont feel worried about her. Great place to grab a quick bite! Felt kind of like a mini trip to Germany. I had the Veggie Bomb pretzel sandwich which was pretty tasty. Everything seemed fresh and high quality. Had a German beer with my lunch too. I came at a weird hour 3pm so had the place to mostly myself, but I imagine during lunch hour it can get chaotic. Great sandwiches and unique idea with the pretzel bread (who doesn't love that?) I tried the breakfast once and ordered the roasted garden veggies w/ cheese and eggs and it was good! But it was literally the tiniest sandwich I've ever bought and had a scant amount of everything. If I were making this at home I would have loaded up on the veggies and made it my own. But I did appreciate that they used very fresh ingredients and made it in front of you (including scrambling the egg). Another time I went for lunch and ordered the pesto/caprese sandwich. At least this one was on a proper slice of bread. Again, very tasty and fresh ingredients. If it were a little less expensive or they gave you a little more food (not even bread, but loaded up on the veggies) I would be inclined to go here more often. I do understand though that good quality produce is expensive, and I'm not sure if this is a national store or not, but with a lack of economies of scale, supplies are even more expensive. Have to give a big shoutout to Hannah's Bretzel for being such an awesome business that my family craves, as Hannah's has stood tall in tough conditions for Chicago this year. Today, we were able to get a bunch of our favorites delivered to the Loop from this location, even after the weekend riots made Loop access more difficult and shut almost every food business downtown. Hannah's sandwiches are THE food we crave when away from Chicago and so glad we were able to get lunch today from here! We try and support local businesses during the virus lockdown and since we were out of Chicago for the past few months, the best we could do is buy a package of Hannah's sandwiches to send to frontline hospital workers. All the food at Hannah's is fresh, healthy and delicious so that alone deserves your business, but it's always a company that does everything the right way. I used to live a block from their first location at Washington/Wells so I've seen the growth and can say, even as I get grumpier with age, that Hannah's has always done things the proper way and it's a company that's great to support while enjoying their delicious food. read more

I've been here many (and I mean many) times since I first reviewed Hannah's Bretzel in 2013. And guess what? It's still just as good! My boyfriend loves the Hannah's Club, and I love the Pesto + Mozzarella. We've never changed up our order because why mess with a good thing? And both sandwiches are a very good thing. The ingredients are quality, and I absolutely love how great I feel afterwards. There's no sluggish feeling in the bottom of your stomach because the ingredients are all so fresh and healthy. But over the years, things have definitely changed at Hannah's Bretzel. The salt & pepper potato chips now come in an official, sealed bag instead of the paper sleeves. Thankfully, they're still just as good! And the ingredients are used a little more sparingly on the sandwiches, which makes me sad. But perhaps the biggest change is with the gluten free bread -- Hannah's Bretzel JUST switched to using a new gluten free pretzel bread from Wheat's End. Recently, I ordered for pick-up, got home and saw the bread, and majorly freaked out, thinking I'd accidentally been given the regular sandwich bread. I called the location (like, four times) to ask if they'd switched things up but they didn't answer. Not wanting to have an allergic reaction, I drove the 20 minutes back to ask. A manager saw I'd returned with the sandwich and explained that yep, they started using a new gluten free bread just over a month ago! And that's awesome -- I just wish someone had told me! Now, the gluten free bread now has two slices on the top; the regular pretzel bread has three. It's pretty amazing how it actually tastes and smells just like real pretzel bread. And gone are the days of partially frozen sandwiches because this new version is baked fresh daily! Yes, it's still pretty pricey -- Hannah's Bretzel's sandwiches are like $10 each. But those sandwiches are made with quality ingredients by knowledgeable staff, and that's absolutely worth the price to me. read more

Nice spot near the Mart. They were baking their pretzel bread when we arrived, smelled so good. Had the steak melt sandwich, very tasty (prob would have given them five stars but I wish my steak was cooked a small bit more than it was). Also had a fresh fruit salad and homemade hibiscus iced tea. They have a huge selection of exotic chocolate bars for dessert. Lastly, the owner came by to say hello. Pretty disappointing with this sandwich. I ordered the Turkey Club. They start out with 2 small slices of back, 2 small half slices of cheese that didn't cover the whole sandwich and then 1-1/2 slices of turkey. Load it up with Lettuce and Tomato to make it look like a bigger sandwich. When I mentioned the amount of turkey on the sandwich they just look at you like you're crazy and rush you along the line to get you to pay and leave. For the price you pay for these sandwiches it should contain some more meat and cheese. They give you a choice of a bag of chips or a small container of Almonds.
