My only complaint, as shared by others, is the parking situation. There's not much by way of street parking and what is available gets gobbled up quickly. As long as the nearby businesses don't mind sharing, you can park a block away and walk. No big deal when the weather is nice.

Is this lack of detail that make it less than it should be to really be an advocate for the arts.

However, my husband and I decided to pay another visit this evening, and holy cow I am so glad that we did! Tonight's show featured their main cast and a musical style second act. We were blown away by how talented these actors are in terms of singing, acting, and thinking on the spot; their jokes and spontaneity had us rolling! I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. We will definitely be coming back with friends :-) There will be mess-ups, unexpected twists, and I guarantee the cast on the stage will be laughing too. It's a warm and fun environment that everyone living in Provo should experience at some point. 10/10 !

Ok WOW Noorda! How did I not know about you until now??…read more The Noorda is a new performing arts center that has recently opened at UVU. UVU uses it for some of their student productions, but the community uses it for other events as well. This week I visited for their performance of Sweeney Todd. This show was co-produced with the Utah Repertory Theater Company. They did a phenomenal job! The lead who played Sweeney Todd has actually had a very long and successful career on Broadway and had been nominated for a Tony. The other lead who played Mrs. Lovett is also an award winner and of the highest caliber. Perhaps one of the best single performances I have seen by an actress. What I'm getting at is--this place is no joke. It's not just a bunch of college kids messing around on stage. They know what they are doing and they are the best of the best! I was also incredibly impressed with the theater itself. It was clean, fresh, and well put together. Made for an exciting and fun environment to watch a show. The personnel were also incredibly kind and helpful. The one thing they really need to figure out is PARKING. Parking is already a disaster on this side of town. So PLEASE do something about it while you still can! Can't wait to see what else this place comes up with!

The play, cast, crew, and gorgeous new facility did not disappoint. The seats were extremely comfortable and spacious, which isn't always the case at many Broadway theaters. From the entrance way to the stage, everything was planned out really well in look and feel with a lot of attention to detail to make the venue special. The play itself was outstanding. The cast and crew were amazing and the intimate feel of the theater size and seating made us feel like we were sitting on the 50 yard line (even though we were slightly up on the second floor). Overall, put this venue on your visit list, put this play, Patrick and the cast on your list as well. Bravo!

There is still a feeling of intimacy and the great staff is still kind. The variety of shows to choose from their line-up gives you some musicals, comedy, and drama in one theater at such a fantastic price. One of the great joys of our lives. The DeJong Concert Hall is an excellent venue for hearing great musical performances. The seats are comfortable, the view is excellent, and the acoustics are first rate. Compared to driving 40miles to hear the Utah Symphony the value cannot be beat. Did I mention that the Philharmonic Orchestra is just superb! They recently performed Holst's "The Planets" with Dvorák's "New World Symphony" scheduled for the spring concert.

Even though it is outside with no roof or walls, the acoustics are good and the volume is loud so you will be able to hear very well (we even brought ear plugs just in case). You will likely be sitting on a self picked spot on the grass as most of the seating is on a grassy hill. There are some rows of actual seats up front but those cost more. The concert itself was very reasonable priced (under 50$ with a groupon). There is also a concession stand that you can buy food at by walking down cement stairs (I don't think you are allowed to bring your own food inside the gates). The concert usually goes till after dark so I would bring a light jacket or blanket in case it gets chilly/windy. Also you will want a blanket or chair to sit on.
