I was able to get an appointment within two days of when I called which blew me away. When I arrived I had quite a bit of paperwork. I could have done it online but it just kept crashing. I was never able to submit any information ahead of time. The waiting room was chock full of patients. Just from the crowd, it was clear there was going to be a wait. Given my low expectations, they called me way earlier than I was expecting. My appointment was with Dr. Sukhranjan Nijjar, DPM. She was very professional and explained the situation very clearly. I found it easy to talk to her and she answered my questions very well. Unfortunately her diagnosis was clearly aligned with my advice nurse and my emergency room doctor. She then recommended what I thought was a pretty aggressive treatment schedule. But then I discovered if treatment were neglected, I might face possible amputation of my limbs, kidney failure, and blindness. OK early aggressive treatment is clearly called for. Not that I was happy. Well rats! Sigh.

I can tell when it's going to rain because I get some aches from the screws, which apparently is common, but it's not bad enough to go through with another surgery to remove it. Now I take my mom to see Dr. Shanks to have her nails cut, since she's diabetic. Her staff has been good for the most part.
