Witnessed discrimination against patient with disabilities. The second the RN saw the patient, she was rolling her eyes, complaining, had a major attitude. The team explained that they called multiple times ahead of the appointment to explain the condition, what exactly would be needed and ensure it was an appropriate setting. The doctor scheduled to conduct the procedure had already evaluated the patient in-person and personally referred them to this center for her to complete it. Patient did absolutely nothing wrong, other than needing some assistance from their team, and a full team was present to work with them to ensure the Sutter staff didn't have to worry about anything. The RN immediately complained and was openly talking negatively about the patient in the hallway so the team denied service without even trying or consulting the patients team. Even after the reiteration that the procedure was urgent due to life threatening concerns and having a history of successful procedures with no issues, they refused service based on the fact they had disabilities that they were well aware of ahead of time. Very disheartening to see professionals in a field meant to help others be so discriminatory and hateful. read more

Dr. L. Chan remembered me from previous encounters, office visit and endoscopy. When he arrived at my pre-op bedside he had full knowledge of my prior discussions with him and my case history. Today he competently performed a procedure that a previous doctor failed to accomplish 10 years ago. The staff were all efficient, competent and friendly. They were patient with my concerns and needs. I would definitely return to this center without hesitation. read more

Very disappointed with their billing department. I have tried to call 3 times about an expected bill I was supposed to receive. Never answered the phone. I left 2 voice-mails and never received a call back. Now I received a bill from a collection department. This is unacceptable. For a bill under $200 I have to deal with collections now because they will not answer their phone in the billing department. I'll make sure to avoid this place in the future. read more

Office management for the Eye surgery center is REALLY bad, but doctors seem good. Very poor communication regarding pre-op requirements (so bad that even the info sheet provided had a number at the bottom that went to Kaiser!). Mixed messages depending on who answered the phone. Scheduled appointments for Monday 7am leaving a handful of patients to wait for an HOUR because they had an office meeting (yet no sign on door letting people know, and caused increasing anxiety for those awaiting sensitive surgeries). Hopefully office management improvements will increase the experience for others. read more

Dr. Mojaddidi did my Gallbladder surgery. He has the best bed side manner and explained what he was going to do at my evaluation/consultation appointment and why the flippin pain. My doctor submitted two urgent referrals through because originally when she confirmed I had stones and was going to recommend for the surgery I had know idea who I wanted to do it. My first appt was a month a half out and my pain level was increasing pretty badly so, I was trying to have that office move up my appt. In the meantime a second referral was sent to Dr. Mojaddidi's office miraculously they called me right away, I just hung up the phone with surgeon's office #1 and the office called me and got me scheduled the very next morning. I was in surgery the next week due to having to take the covid test and blood work. I was so impressed with the attentiveness as a sutter patient and how they moved when they got the referral and I know it was within a couple days from when my doctor sent it because we were communicating through email. 9 hours after surgery pain from surgery has already subsided and pain I was experiencing before my surgery is gone. I highly recommend this surgeon. Thank you stay safe and healthy everyone. read more

I had a colonoscopy by Dr. Iqbal today. My family is all back east for my daughters performance and due to scheduling restraints in my part I had to go it 'alone '. I had my neighbor drive me and pick me up but they didn't stick around during. I was pretty trepidatious but soon my nerves were calmed. The staff were so nice and so professional. They couldn't have taken better care of me, from asking what I prefer to be called, to offering more blankets, to asking numerous times if I had any questions or concerns. The actual procedure was super quick and painless thanks to the great anesthesiologist who had me relaxed and sedated before I even knew what hit me. They gave me juice upon wake up and were super patient with me. From one nervous /emotional Nelly... well done Sutter Fairfeild surgery Staff! read more

The urgent care needs better management. They are under staffed on the weekends. You know the days of the week most Urgent cares are busy. Worst worst worst... If you ask why they are under staffed, it seems the reason is not enough doctors. I walking in on a Friday and there was only one dr on staff. I was told that was the only one who scheduled, I ask why would a medical center put only one dr on for a weekend shift. I was told the dr pick their work schedule. I found that to be really odd. I was under the impression that dr wanted to help and heal. I feel really bad for the one who is on all day dealing with people who have waited over 3+ hours. Yes 3+ hours that! Now, the dr that I did finally see the next day, yes I left and can back the next mornig. He was very knowledgable and I do appropriate the service. I just think there could be a better way to provide higher level of costumer service. Maybe add some PAs or something. read more

I recently had surgery at Sutter Fairfield Surgery Center, and was very impressed. The facility is spotless, and everyone I came in contact with was friendly and patient, (front desk staff, the AMAZING RN, and the surgical team). The surgery went well, as did the anesthesia, (thank goodness), and the nurses were so sweet afterwards. I really couldn't have hoped for a better experience on the day of my surgery, and I would have rated the facility 5 stars, but I had kind of a weird scheduling issue. The day before my surgery someone rescheduled my arrival time, but no one got in contact with me, (I did receive a generic message the afternoon before my surgery-with no mention of a time change, and they didn't respond when I returned their call). The morning of my surgery I got a call asking where I was, because the new arrival time, that they didn't tell me about, had passed. Fortunately my doctor is awesome, and I was still able to have the surgery as planned, but I'm sure he didn't enjoy having to wait for me, and I didn't enjoy feeling like a jerk for not showing up on time. read more

I had a great experience here recently. I was scheduled for a procedure which preparing for had me pretty emotionally drained (what surgery wouldn't, though). I got a call from someone in the billing department (I think) a week beforehand who explained everything very thoroughly when it came to insurance, what will be owed, what to expect when it comes to bills, etc. Then I got a call from a nurse who asked me a few health-related questions, and confirmed the procedure that was to be done. I really appreciated all the info, as this was my first (and hopefully last) time going through a surgery like this and had no idea what to expect. When I arrived, I filled out some paperwork and paid the remaining balance to hit my deductible, which they called an "estimate" since nothing had been billed yet. The wait was a little long because I think they were behind that day. When I finally got brought in and things started happening, the nursing staff was all super nice. My husband came in and sat with me for a while while we waited for them to take me into the OR. The doc came in and talked to me about the procedure, and then the anesthesiologist came in and introduced herself, which I appreciated. The facility was clean and organized, and everyone was super friendly. While waiting, I overheard a lot of nurse gossip and post-op reports being verbally logged by the doctors, which I found amusing. The procedure went well (so they tell me!) and the nurses were great with post-op care and getting me out of there safely. Well, one orderly in particular needs to work on her wheelchair skills because she definitely crashed me into things a few times. Otherwise, great. My insurance ended up covering a large portion of the amount billed (the amount I already paid the surgery center), so I ended up getting most of my money back. I physically went into the office to deal with it because I was in the neighborhood, but I believe they typically call you and tell you if you're being issued a refund. The only reason I knocked off a star is their phone system. When I called (to find out if I was going to be getting some of the money refunded), their menu is a total maze which took me around in circles, then finally to a live human who then connected me to the rudest person I've ever spoken with (someone in the Sutter main billing department) which ended with me hanging up in frustration. Overall I had a good experience here, and I hope more people write about their positive experiences here as well. read more

I had tests done by Dr. Iquab today. Everyone was so nice and very thorough ensuring they had all my information correct. Nurse Carol prepared me for the test. She explained everything and ensured I understood. I let her know I needed nausea medications during the procedure and she ensured everyone was aware, and it was given before I went for the test. Once I was in hospital attire I was given a warmed blanket and make to feel comfortable or as comfortable as you can be with an I V in your hand. I checked in at 9:30 and didn't get brought back for my test until 11:30. No one actually told me when I was getting the test done I was told to come at 9:30. So I waited for a pretty long time. It would have been nice to be kept in the loop regarding wait time, etc. While having the test the nurses were great and the doc talked to me before, during and after the procedure (however this was a blur due to meds). The discharge nurse seemed a bit put out but that is how I've always experienced discharge nurses. I will definitely be back but hopefully it won't be necessary. read more

Nurses are helpful and nice. Everything else is bad. Intake nurse, records, others, NEVER answer their phones. Don't call us, we'll call you. They think YOU work for THEM. Some staff people are quite rude and passive-aggressive. It's the luck of the draw. Waiting room is a zoo. Expect to wait for hours. (Remember, YOU work for THEM, not the other way around.) (Surgery team is YOUR surgeon, not part of the facility, so choose a good one!!) If you have complications, expect a nice long ride stuck in traffic to Sutter Vallejo Hospital ER, because that's where they will take you by ambulance, ambulance that will cost you a pretty penny. NOT to the much closer NorthBay Fairfield. Records are very poorly kept and incomplete. Sutter Davis is much much better for outpatient surgery/procedures. Definitely try to go there instead. read more

My husband and I have been seen here several times over the years, most recently when I had a total knee replacement. I really can't give them the praise they deserve. The facility has tons of parking, is light and airy, and very clean and "user friendly". The office staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. The pre-op Nurse, operation-day nurses and staff were wonderful. I spent one night and went home the next day, which I was a little anxious about because my other replacement had me in the hospital 3 nights. It made a huge difference to get home right away and start PT. I've had WAY to much surgery, and this was by far my best experience. Bravo! Beth S. read more

My child recently had a surgery here. We were completely impressed with the level of professionalism & regard of the staff for our child. Most hospitals just mail you a bill and that's it. How caring is that? Not how the Surgery Center rolls. The care was great but the Surgery Center went the extra mile & mailed us a personal card on behalf of the Recovery & Pre-Op team wishing us well. We highly recommend this place, can't say enough good things about it! read more
