I warned the nurse drawing my blood that I have small veins but after a couple minutes she was able to find it and get what was needed. She was very patient and used 100% care taking my blood which I appreciate. I've been a Kaiser member for almost 10 years and always experience quality care from the staff.

I told her every visit that i didn't want to talk to her again, but she kept calling, as no o n e would give my the care I am entitled to. I can safely say I've spent at least $20k on visits to a therapist and psychiatrist outside of Kaiser (this teaching psychiatrist had me on the right meds within days... That doesn't cover the cost of Rx that Kaiser wouldn't pay for and still won't. My sleep apnea experience was traumatizing. I went to my appointment and they called a large group of people and gave us clip boards and told us to follow them to a conference room. I stood outside in the hallway as there were too many people. I had a panic attack, dropped my clip board and ran to my car and sobbed. They called me and asked me to come inside and they would meet me individually. Of course course, it was my fault because I didn't specify a single appointment. They told me CPAP was the only thing that would work for me. He said this works well for 90% their patients. I told him specifically I can't sleep with something covering my face. He handed it to me and told me he promised it would work. I didn't touch it and said "if you have no intention of listening to me, I'll find someone who can. His demeanor changed somewhat and all of a sudden there was an oral appliance. They also said weight loss could help, but they are unwilling to offer any service to you. My podiatry experience started terribly. I was shunted to PT. I told them the exercises are hurting more than helping. This goes on for a while and I suggest imaging and to meet with a podiatrist as it has been going on for a while. I told that sh!tty doctor to send the referral or I would start making complaints, as the squeaky wheel gets the oil. They put one ankle in a boot. It felt good for a couple week. Next, a year latter, I told Kaiser that I needed a new and competent podiatrist (and that I was still considering reporting the previous podiatrist to the DCA). Kaiser Permanente is great if your young and healthy! They did help me significantly when I had a stroke (medication related). Though, it would have never happened if Kaiser wouldn't have dropped my psychiatrist and said "too bad." Protect yourself! Fight for yourself! The nurses' professionalism, standard of care and compassion is second to none. The doctors are honest and patient in answering all questions. This is not your standard hospital. This is a military hospital where the staff works hard here despite other competing priorities such as military obligations. They also worked during shutdowns. Extremely Disappointing Experience With the LASIK Department…read more I am extremely disappointed with the way my LASIK surgery process was handled. As a soldier, I understand that medical procedures have strict eligibility requirements and that a patient can ultimately be found ineligible. What I do not understand is the way this situation was communicated and handled from beginning to end. Prior to my appointment, I was informed that the slight deviation in my eye could potentially result in disqualification. I understood that this was a possibility and was prepared for the procedure to be denied if the medical evaluation determined that I was not a candidate. However, after traveling approximately seven hours to the facility based on being told that my surgical packet had been approved, I was given a completely different explanation. Upon arrival, I was told that the deviation was not simply a potential disqualifying factor--it was apparently too severe for them to operate on. I was then informed that I would never be able to have eye surgery. That is an extremely significant conclusion to give a patient, especially after previously communicating something substantially different. If the condition was severe enough to make me permanently ineligible for eye surgery, that should have been clearly communicated before I was told my packet was approved and before I made a seven-hour trip. The only additional communication I received was an abrupt phone call from an optometrist who identified herself as Ms. Wang. The only instruction I was given was essentially, "Stop rubbing your eyes." I was not provided with a clear explanation of what had changed, why my previous information was different, or why I was suddenly being considered permanently ineligible. What was particularly frustrating was that the surgeon would not even speak with me directly to explain the decision. Instead, I was left dealing with an individual who was extremely argumentative and disrespectful in the way they communicated with me. Rather than treating me like a patient who was simply asking legitimate questions about a major medical decision, I was spoken to in a condescending manner, almost as if I did not understand the most basic concepts being discussed. I was not asking anyone to perform a procedure that was medically unsafe. I was asking for a reasonable explanation of why I was previously told my packet was approved, why the determination changed upon arrival, and why I was now being told that I could never have eye surgery. Those are completely reasonable questions for a patient to ask. The seven-hour drive made the situation even more unacceptable. This was not a minor inconvenience. I spent significant time, fuel, and effort traveling based on information provided to me by the department. If there were unresolved medical concerns that could result in permanent disqualification, those concerns should have been addressed before I was told I was approved and instructed to report for surgery. The biggest issue here is not that I was ultimately found to be a poor candidate for surgery. Medical professionals have every right to determine that a procedure is unsafe. The issue is the lack of consistent communication, the apparent change in explanation, the absence of a meaningful solution, and the disrespectful manner in which my questions were handled. I would strongly encourage the LASIK department to reevaluate how it communicates surgical approvals and disqualifications to soldiers. Patients deserve accurate information before traveling significant distances, and they deserve to have major medical decisions explained to them by qualified medical professionals--not dismissed, talked down to, or left without answers

I really appreciated the encouraging words from them as well. I can't speak on much of the doctors themselves, but my grandma's alive and doing well so I'd say that's been good. My only complaints are: the small ED lobby that feels like a bubble of germs with the circle of seats to cough onto each other. The lack of communication with wait times in between information given once you're in a room in the ED... and bedside with some ER doctors. But that's par the course for most hospitals.

Then I went to test drive a vehicle from a dealership with permission. The car did not have navigation so I pulled off in to a Verizon for directions. I had blank checks from me inside the vehicle for purchase. I was arrested for vehicle theft and placed in Auburn jail for a day and then released in Pleasanton at 2 am with nothing. I couldn't even access my bank without photo ID. I went to a church and was given a gift card for groceries which I used. I was sitting on a park bench eating when an officer pushed me down and arrested me even though I had a receipt. I was driven back to Auburn jail and locked in for six months and then labeled incompetent. I was then taken to Napa State Hospital and locked in there for 11 months. They had a forensic team evaluate me and state I am competent in which they sent me back to Auburn jail. I was never sentenced, never been in trouble with the law and I was convicted of two felonies. I have my own money and no reason to steal a vehicle. The whole situation has caused me ptsd and I am unable to get credit,a loan, rental and some hotels due to the incident. I was released with nothing and shelters were full. I had to sleep outside for 3 weeks until I got my ID back to access my bank account. My drivers license needed to be renewed but they have now suspended it due to an anonymous call saying that I am incompetent.
