From the glass of wine I had after dinner, to missing the early morning Black Friday experience (this is the best part of Black Friday). So after calculating the time it requires to sober up, I was gonna head off to the emergency room at 10 PM. I showed up at Queen of the valley emergency room. It was surprisingly full for Thanksgiving evening. There must've been somewhere between 3 to 5 patients in the waiting room. Signing in at the registration desk was a piece of cake. They give you the usual bit of paperwork to fill out. And then it was just a matter of waiting it out. Given the time, it wasn't a surprise that many of the patients had much more urgent medical situations. I ended up waiting till close to midnight. Once it was my turn, things move briskly. They measured this and measured that and then put me in to the queue to see the doctor. I wish I could remember names, but I was darn sleepy. I would say the doctor showed an abundance of caution. They x-rayed the critical spot. They wish they could take an MRI but that equipment was too bulky for the emergency room. They concluded my injury needed to see an in office doctor ASAP. Since it was Thanksgiving evening, parking was a snap. It was relatively quiet. And since my injury was to my foot, the entrance was clearly very accessible. All in all, I got back home around 2 AM in the morning. If you want to get prompt service in the emergency room, honestly the best thing to do is to show up at 2 AM in the morning when everyone else has sensibly gone to bed. I would totally recommend using this emergency room, the wait time is certainly less horrendous than other urgent care/emergency rooms that I have been in, the staff and the doctors were meticulous. But keep in mind that I had a very different experience from your every day situation in the emergency room. Clearly many people had probably put off anything until after Thanksgiving. I also showed up rather late in the evening and that always helps.

When we first walked in, the front desk & waiting area reminded me of a hotel lobby. (Unfortunately, the QVMC does not offer a AAA or Diner's Club Card Discount.) The furniture, color palette, and modern design tied the pavilion lobby in quite nicely, very clean.
